Chapter 101
It was past eight in the evening. Alexander seemed to be a little drunk. He leaned on the table and looked at Avery, stuttering, "I’ll send you back."
Avery’s face darkened. "Are you sure you can send me back in your current state?" She turned to the side to look for Louis. However, she did not see him. Hence, she called Louis and asked him to fetch Alexander.
Louis sounded sincere as he said, "Miss Carter, I’m very sorry. I have to deal with some urgent matters and can’t pick Mr. Moran up. Please send him to Room 1809 of the Lescotts Hotel." Then he hung up.
Avery looked at the hangover pill in her hand. There was only one pill. She was a little conflicted. Should she use it herself or give it to Alexander? She decided that it was better to use it herself. After swallowing the pill, she pulled Alexander up and had him lean on her shoulder as she helped him downstairs.
When the waiter saw the scene unfolding before him, his eyes widened in shock. He asked cautiously, "Miss, do you need us to help you send this gentleman back?"
"No need," Avery shook her head. "I can carry him."
Although Alexander was outstandingly tall, Avery was very strong. She could carry him. Moreover, Alexander was not very drunk. He was just a little delirious. Although his footsteps were unsteady, he could still walk. There was no need for her to carry him. Most importantly, she did not mind letting Alexander lean on her like that.
Alexander had a pleasant scent. She could even see his long eyelashes, tall nose, and sexy lips up close. She enjoyed the intimate distance between them.
Louis was quietly following Avery from behind. He watched as Avery helped Alexander down the cruise and into the car. She then fastened his seatbelt before driving to the hotel.
Louis was so touched that he felt like he was about to cry. He whispered silently to himself, "Mr. Moran, I’ve already helped you to this point. The rest’s up to you."
Alexander was a gentleman. Louis knew he would not take advantage of the opportunity to mess around. However, it was a good opportunity for Alexander and Avery to cultivate their relationship.
