The Return Of the Invincible Heiress

Chapter 100

Alexander thought for a few seconds. "How about this? You can work on that detective novel. However, I want you to hint that I’m the author. The murderer would focus on me instead. Of course, I’d not retain the author’s identity after solving the case. Would that be alright with you?"

Avery waved her hand. "Sure, sure. It’s a deal."

Alexander smiled and raised his glass. "You’re a good person. Let me propose a toast to you again."

The champagne was delicious. It also did not have much alcohol content. However, Avery said, "I’ve got work tonight. I can’t drink anymore."

Alexander never forced others to drink. He smiled and said, "Alright, you can have water instead. I’ll down this glass." Alexander finished his champagne before saying, "The Miracle 30 I promised to gift Dr. Annie has completed the final examination. It’d be sent to her soon. I hope she likes it."

Avery kept up with the pretense that she was not Dr. Annie. "I believe she’ll like it."

Alexander played with the glass and looked deeply at Avery. "You’re my confidant. You must be able to figure out why I’m working so hard to develop Miracle, right?"

Avery replied, "Your sister got into a car accident five years ago. That was when you started pouring your heart into developing Miracle. After what happened with your sister, it’s no wonder you regretted that your sister’s car was not smash- or collision-proof."

"Why do you know me so well?" Alexander poured himself another glass. "I’ve loved to play with cars since I was young. I also like to study and build cars. My dream’s to build the safest car in the world so that the driver and passengers in the car don’t have to worry about getting into accidents." He looked wistful as he spoke. "Before entering the family business, I had been looking for a suitable car production line. I searched for talent everywhere and even came up with how I’d like to design the car. I decided to buy a car production line on the verge of bankruptcy after I entered the Moran Group. However, it required a lot of money. There was also the concern that the small cars produced would not be on par with foreign brands. The board of directors was very much against it."
