Chapter 85
Maria said nonchalantly, "It’s just a man. How can he compare to family? I wouldn’t fight with my family over a man."
Avery blinked. She couldn’t believe Maria was like that. Avery had seen how much Maria loved romance dramas. Since Maria started working very young, Avery thought Maria wanted to fall in love and get married as soon as possible. She had expected Maria to end up listening to her family’s opinion but secretly cry and indulge in self-pity after some thought.
Avery was still worried. "Don’t you think it’s disrespectful if your family meddles too much and doesn’t respect your feelings and freedom?"
This time, it was Maria who blinked in surprise. "No way. Even if my family wants me to die, it must be for my own good. Why would I refuse them?"
Avery’s eyelids twitched when she heard that. She quickly waved her hands. "No. If your family or someone else wants you to die, you must resist, got it? You must escape or call the police."
However, Maria said seriously, "No one in this world treats me better than my family. No matter what my family wants me to do, they are true to me." Maria poked herself in the head and added embarrassedly, "As you know, I’m dumb. I didn’t study much and don’t know much. I don’t think too deeply about many things. I might as well listen to my family. At least they won’t harm me."
Avery was speechless. She thought, ’Wow, I can’t believe Mom and Dad are so capable. They’ve got their children’s full respect and complete trust.’
A few seconds later, Avery said, "If I interfere in your private matters, will you be angry with me?"
"No," Maria rubbed her nose and said embarrassedly. "Avery, you’re so good and so smart. No matter what you do, it will make sense. I trust you."
