A mysterious young man who appears in his mid-twenties. Definitely appears to be of East Asian descent, but his facial features are a bit ambiguous. Summoned as the Legendary Shield Hero to save the world, through a series of continued betrayals and disappointment, a mysterious power/entity deleted the Legendary Shield from existence and freed the young man's original powers.

He is from some version of Earth where Donald Trump is the president.
He is unphased by monsters and life or death experiences.
He was involved in the Marhawa Academy Incident but lived and was unrecorded as being involved.
Bioweapons exist in his Earth.
World War III was imminent before he was summoned.
His father appears to be some special forces agent and has close ties with the president.
His mother appears to be some form of mercenary with a very loose moral code.
He has an Uncle named Chris who may or may not punch boulders.
He is definitely an otaku, or at least very knowledgable about video games and anime, especially the classics.
He is very adept at computer science to the extent of being able to hack into and modify the Status Magic System in the world using his Parallel System.
His name is not Naofumi Iwatani, but he has read the NovelFire of Rising of the Shield Hero, so he stole the guy's name.
He has ridiculous levels of knowledge about various esoteric fields.
Before he was summoned, he was writing the next chapter of 'something,' which may or may not be a revolutionary white paper on some pivotal technology.
He was making plans to forcibly end World War III before being summoned.
For some odd reason, he appears to have a contingency plan for defeating outerversal beings.
He was NOT supposed to be summoned as the Legendary Shield Hero, but some entity brute forced it, which led the Legendary Shield to overcompensate in trying to mold him into Naofumi's role.
Like Itsuki, he possesses a cheat skill when he was summoned as the Shield Hero called <Parallel System> that allows him to debug the world and develop things. However, he has clearly taken it beyond what it was originally intended to be used for...

His father is a variant of Leon Scott Kennedy.
His mother is a variant of Ada Wong.
He is the god son of Claire Redfield, and thus treated as a nephew by Chris Redfield.
In his world, Leon Scott Kennedy and Ada Wong were involved in the conflict between the Shinra and Ouma organizations titled Project X Zone 2 - Brave New World.
His world is a confluence of numerous overlapping worlds from different universes and timespaces, leading to multiple systems and abilities coexisting at the same time, which explains his general expertise.
He is a bioweapon specifically engineered to survive the worst case scenario of an all-out war between multiple overlapping realities.
He may have derived an equation similar to the Ir2 equation that allows for realbooting.
He is seeking to end wars by resolving resource issues on a fundamental level.
He had a contingency plan on how to bootstrap to multiversal level ready to go for the moment he got access to a world with an energy source that could be manipulated with thoughts.
He is immune to conceptual warfare not because of nature, but understanding.

Ren Amaki
A 16 year old Japanese male who was summoned as the Sword Hero after being stabbed while saving his childhood friend.
He appears to be from a world that tracks closely to Sword Art Online where VR Helmets and Full Dive technology became the forefront of gaming.
Because of that, Naofumi calls him a Kirito Expy.
In his Japan, Melromarc and its world closely resembles a VRMMORPG called Brave Star Online.
In canon, he is quite aloof and gets his party killed in the fight against the Spirit Tortoise, leading to him spiraling. However, here, due to the initial friendly meeting and Naofumi's general vibes, he is just a bit friendlier, leading to character development similar to another black-haired swordsman from a VRMMORPG.

Motoyasu Kitamura
A 21 year old Japanese male who was summoned after he was stabbed during a conflict between two girls that he couldn't choose between.
He has the sort of personality where he will usually trust women over anything else (aka diehard simp). However, due to the very first encounter with our MC, he is slightly inspired at seeing a competent adult in a strange situation like this.
Due to this, although Motoyasu follows through the initial opening like in canon, he harbors very slight doubts. This leads to him trusting our MC when they meet again later post-assassination attempt by an otherworld vassal hero.
He appears to be from a world similar to School Days.

Itsuki Kawasumi
A 17 year old Japanese male who was summoned after meeting truck-kun.
He has a strong justice streak, having been a victim of injustice his whole life due to being bullied. In canon, this would have led to him taking extreme measures and blindly following authority. But here, due to the initial encounter with our MC, he revises his definition of justice to be more fluid.
Unlike the others, he is an Esper, a human who possesses psychic powers that grant supernatural abilities. For him, his ability is <Perfect Accuracy> which ensures that any arrow he fires will never miss or be evaded and must be deflected or blocked.
The world he comes from may be similar to A Certain Magical Index, but he hasn't confirmed it.
After the events of the wave at Riyute village and the assassination attempt by the Pope of the Church of Three Heroes, he has joined Ren's party despite the experience penalty.

Mirellia Q Melromarc (Variant)
Not quite the Queen of Melromarc we see in the Anime or Light Novels, and also not the one from the web novel.
A beautiful and talented woman who ruled Melromarc during the tumultuous war against Siltvelt while she was still a teenager, she eventually fell in love with the Seven Star Staff Hero who helped save her country.
They wed after the war with her as a young teenaged bride and Malty was born shortly after.
Due to this, she is softer than the Mirellia from canon, as well as a bit younger (34 years old to the at least 36 years old).
When the story began, Mirellia was negotiating with the other countries and trying to find a lifeline for Melromarc as her husband's mental faculties and general capacity as a ruler had begun to decline. Due to this, she lowered her pride and offered Malty as a concubine to Four Bray's King, securing the ability to keep one of the summoned heroes for Melromarc.
Mirellia had hoped to summon the Shield Hero, both as a means to resolve the tension with Siltvelt and decrease the influence of the cult-like Church of Three Heroes.
However, that plan clearly failed...

Melty Q Melromarc
Despite the changed circumstances, she is functionally the same as in canon: a kind and unprejudiced princess who is still a young ten year old child.
However, due to seeing first-hand the distress that her father caused to her mother, as well as the aftermath of everything that unfolded from there, she isn't quite as naive and is more cautious.

Erhard (Oyaji)
A blacksmith that is well-renowned in Melromarc. Due to our MC following roughly in Naofumi's steps in the beginning, the relationship is similar. However, Erhard realized quickly that our MC knows more than he lets on.
A man with a level head who believes in the Queen's abilities, but places helping the people over nobility.

Beloukas (Slave Trader)
A cunning businessman who ran Melromarc's slave trade until our MC's ultimatum.
Surprisingly good at reading the flow of events and keeping himself alive.
Completely morally bankrupt, but at the same time operates on clear pros and cons while respecting deals. A 'fair' businessman to the extreme, being able to recognize fault and blame while cutting off losses.
...Very likely to die an unfortunate death in the future due to karmic retribution. But until then, working as MC's source of intel due to Beloukas' underworld connections.

A man from a certain Astral Express who is here due to various circumstances. To him, this world is like a dream, fit to end at any moment for him if he acts too far beyond the 'rules' laid out.
Nobody knows for sure how he is here, but if he had to guess, it's due to the aftermath of what happened in Amphoreus.
Currently, he's just enjoying his time in a completely foreign world with rules that run counter to what he's used to.

Farrie
A female martial artist in her 20s. Think of a generic Dragon Quest female fighter and you have her in mind. Black twin tails, green martial arts robes, and white flowing pants.
While not a formal disciple of Elrasla Rangarok or a practitioner of the Hengen Musou style of martial arts, she has derived something similar from her time in Ren's party and with input from Welt.

Lyno
A pretty and blue-eyed young girl in her twenties with a medium build and long, curly golden hair with an ahoge on top.
A nice and enthusiastic girl, she joined Motoyasu's party after he flirted with her and genuinely adores him.
Originally, she would have been tricked and sold into slavery to suffer a terrible fate. But here, due to that flag being shattered after our MC flipped the table, she's still Motoyasu's party member and genuine supporter.
For combat, she's a basic adventurer girl type build with basic magic and weapon skills.

Elena
Full name, Elena Haven. She's a young woman with orange hair kept short, and with light green eyes.
A prgamatic and lazy person to her core, she originally joined Motoyasu's party because he seemed to be the type to let her laze around and get the benefits.
Since recent events, she still hasn't left because abandoning the heroes now would mark her as a 'bad person' in Melromarc, which would make it impossible for her to keep lazing about.
Runs logistics and maintains the carriage for Motoyasu and the party since nobody else can do it properly.

Yuki
A Filorial Queen that was born after Motoyasu picked up an expensive thoroughbred Filorial egg from a Filorial ranch.
As a thoroughbred Filorial, she has pure white feathers, hair, and silver eyes.
She normally wears a beige one-piece dress with a waist belt, as well as a black ribbon over her chest.
Very dignified and with a strong sense of responsibility, she helps keep Motoyasu on track. Unfortunately(?) she also dearly loves Motoyasu and isn't aware of the many unfortunate implications that brings to people looking in from the outside... such as when she adamantly declares that her everything belongs to Motoyasu.
She is also the same existence as the one that Motoyasu would find in Loop 4 of the side stories.

MC's Party

Lia
Her full name is Raphtalia, a tanuki demi-human whose family originally hails from the eastern isolationist nation of Q'Ten Lo. Her father was the direct heir to Q'Ten Lo before his death in the very first wave that erupted before the heroes were summoned.
She was the first slave that Naofumi encountered in the various variants of 'The Rising of the Shield Hero' as well as his first true companion.
Although the exact circumstances behind how she wound up in Beloukas' 'merchandise' varies across the different mediums, here, she ended up in the slave market due to Q'Ten Lo forces meddling.
After meeting MC, her personality is quite different from canon Raphtalia. Since MC is competent in various survival skills unlike the real Naofumi, Lia kept quite a bit of her naivety. However, due to the same reasons, she never properly confronted her trauma, and it only festered due to MC's general nonchalance towards violence and death.
Currently, she is generally happy after venting out all her hatred on her former owner. Although she definitely still carries darkness in her heart and a deep vicious streak, she deliberately chooses to stay lighthearted.
Although not yet addressed in the story, she has become the Heavenly Empress and the Pacifier of the world after the current Heavenly Emperor in Q'Ten Lo was deemed inadequate to perform his duties due to being a child under control of another.
During combat, she mainly uses a sword and illusion magic, deceiving the opponent's senses before going for a kill. Strict efficiency... unless she goes on a rampage.
As the Pacifier, she is meant to keep the Legendary Heroes on track to defeat the waves as well as stop beings who would go against the world's nature. However, due to being subverted by MC, this is now a very much lost cause.

Sylvia
A fox demi-human with snowy white hair, tail, and ears who may not be from Lia's world at all. Due to the terrible events that she endured as a child, she forgot her true name. However, she remembers her mother's: Su Daji.
In truth, the heiress to the Ji Clan of the Ninth Mountain and Sea. Not to be confused with the Ji Clan of a certain Desolate Era, she originally hails from a realm where the Essence of Heaven Sealing thrives.
A person not present in any of the variants of The Rising of the Shield Hero, she roughly serves the same role as Atla would have in Naofumi's party.
During combat, she uses a rapier and sword intent to attack at a distance. Like Lia, she doesn't like prolonging fights and tends to go for a lethal blow.
Her mother is currently pretending to be a member of Takt's harem while using him for information to find her daughter and takes the spot of Tulina in the canon sources.
Due to the divine elixir that MC gave her, the Essence of Heaven Sealing has been awakened within her. Against opponents with a divine nature, they are treated as 'mortal' unless they thoroughly comprehend their divine nature.

Mein Sophia
Formerly Malty S. Melromarc. Due to Mirellia being at a complete loss on how to deal with MC after the disaster that was the first wave, Malty was offered up to the MC as a slave.
As a result of an experiment using Restoration magic and a potential amplification shield, the 'lie' that was the kind and skilled magic user who first reached her hand out to MC became the 'truth.'
The negative circumstances that made Malty into a veritable bitch have been purged and corrected. At the same time, her latent abilities inherited from her mother and father have been amplified.
However, her memories of her actions as Malty remain. Since she is the same person despite the changes, it's similar to a reformed millennial looking back on their wild and rambunctious days in the past... except worse since Malty was just overall a terrible person.
Currently doing her best to be a proper person, she's been selected as the latest Seven Star Staff Vassal Hero.
Secretly likes MC for real since he's unironically her type, but would never admit it due to the past circumstances.
Strangely, she looks like Angela from Trials of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 3.

Rishia
Full name: Rishia Ivyred
A young woman with light green hair and eyes who is technically a noble, but barely. Since her family has fallen on hard times, she returned from studying abroad in Four Bray to try and make ends meet.
In canon, this would lead to various circumstances that would make Itsuki save her, and consequently her falling deeply in love with him.
Here, our MC caught her working at a tavern on her trip back to her family. Due to giving her a tip as well as treating her as a nice person, Rishia delayed her return in the hopes to meet the MC again.
Currently, she's joined the MC's party, though she's more the babysitter and miss sunshine of the group than a fighter.
In combat, she's a jack-of-all-trades, but a late bloomer.

A young Skywing with blue hair and white wings with an iridescent hue. Although originally a Filorial, due to being exposed to MC's skill <Ominous Aura>, the latent potential as a Skywing inherent within the Filorial DNA was overwritten and combined with MC's DNA.
Appears to be roughly 2-3 years old and normally wears a fluffy white dress, or whatever latest onesie that Rishia and S'yne has made.
Looks similar to Mina Wyndia from Breath of Fire II.
Possesses Light and Creation magic, allowing her to create equipment and items from mana, as well as to manipulate light with mana.
Has a bit of a mischievous streak due to taking after her Grandmother.

A young Skywing with blonde hair and black wings that look like shadows. Like Mina, although originally a Filorial, due to being exposed to MC's skill <Ominous Aura>, the latent potential as a Skywing inherent within the Filorial DNA was overwritten and combined with MC's DNA.
Appears to be roughly 2-3 years old and normally wears a fluffy white dress, or whatever latest onesie that Rishia and S'yne has made.
Looks similar to Nina Wyndia from Breath of Fire II.
Possesses elemental magic and dragonfire, making her a natural black mage type of combatant.
Fascinated with heroes and has a slight justice streak. However, she is also a daddy's girl and defers to whatever the MC wants.
She is the same 'existence' and egg as Filo from canon, but due to MC's changed nature, she developed differently.

Bahamut
An Eikon incarnated within mortal form.
Also, the Highest King of Dragons slumming it out as a young child after deliberately reincarnating himself for fun. Has the knowledge of Bahamut accessible to him in the form of a search engine, but can be considered his own person.
Has light green hair and blue eyes. If a certain Dragon King from a world of Jobless Reincarnation were to see him, that guy would panic since Bahamut looks similar to a Demon Dragon King.
However, in truth, he looks similar to a certain Divine Dragon from the realm of Ylisse.
Possesses access to world-breaking abilities only held at bay due to the tremendous respect he has towards his father.
A completely different existence from Ghaelion or the Dragon Emperor.
Looks like a five year old. Very polite.
...Combat? What combat? If he's fighting, only ashes are left.
Secretly a goofball, just like his Grandfather.

S'yne
Full name: S'yne Lokk.
A Vassal Wielder from a fallen world and bearer of the Vassal Sewing Set.
Due to the circumstances of escaping her fallen world, she was originally unable to communicate well. Incompatibility between her world's original Status Magic System and the current world's Status Magic System, as well as her weapon's depleting power led to her slowly reaching a dead end.
However, since she has been accepted by MC and hooked up to the <Parallel System>, she is currently thriving.
Although a Skywing, she was originally unable to manifest her photonic wings due to the Army of the Waves working to sabotage all Skywings out of fear of their power.
The <Parallel System> has revived that capacity by tweaking her class to a Sekirei, beings with a compatible nature and history.
With white hair and silver eyes, a casual person would think she's an angel.
Although she can make familiars with her Vassal Weapon, due to her status conversion to the <Parallel System>, that functionality has been redirected to enhance her artificing capabilities.
