The clean hand arrived as a correction.
That was the first lie.
It was not a person at first. It was a memorandum, three pages long, written in careful administrative language and copied through historical registry, municipal custody, and one liaison office that refused to identify itself as Amana-adjacent while using exactly the phrases Amana-adjacent offices used when pretending names did not matter.
Oda placed it beside Iori’s living-carrier update and the Amai fragment boundary.
Daigo looked at the seal.
"No"
Oda did not look up.
"To which part?"
"The part where a memo thinks it can correct a living woman, a dead child, and a torn sentence at the same time"
"Accurate"
"Then why did it arrive?"
"Because paper has ambition"
Tomonari entered with two notebooks and stopped at the sight of the memorandum.
"That seal is registry internal"
Akiha stood beside the table.
"Not municipal?"
"Copied through municipal. Written elsewhere"
Miyo watched the wax from the window reflection.
"Clean route"
Hayato sat with his hands folded over his notebook, eyes fixed on the line from the previous day.
Damage is not access.
Rei stood near Akiha, not near the memorandum. His position had become part habit, part protocol, part warning against the part of him that still wanted to become useful faster than the room could survive.
Moriyama arrived with Sawamura. Sayuri and Haruto followed soon after. No one had summoned them yet.
That meant the paper had already done something before being read.

Daigo whispered "I hate him already"
