“Damn it...!!!” Fugaku cursed.

Taking one of Misaki or Chiaki as his hostage and then forcing either of the two women and the rest of their Fƫma Clan to work for him in his quest to reclaim the Uchiha Clan
that had been the plan when he suddenly attacked the two women.

He was supposed to have captured either of the two women with that sudden move earlier, making her his helpless captive and leaving the other woman with no other choice but to obey.

Well, the mother and daughter duo did seem to care deeply about each other, so they would certainly have done as he ordered
 but
this unknown man who had been standing silently in the corner, not appearing much interested in the discussion, had suddenly interfered, completely ruining Fugaku’s surprise attack.

No, not only the surprise attack on the pair of mother-daughter ruined, but the man even dared to attack him and sent him crashing into the stone wall.

Being interfered with and pushed back, Fugaku’s eyes burned with rage as he glared at the man. At the same time, he tried to figure out why that earlier punch — the trajectory of which he had clearly seen with his Sharingan and dodged — had still struck him regardless.

‘What was going on at that moment?’ he thought, bewildered and increasingly wary.

Not caring about Fugaku’s bewildered expression, Kakuzu slowly raised both his hands and began to weave hand signs for a powerful Fire Style jutsu. The temperature in the room began to rise noticeably as flames gathered in his mouth.

But Chiaki, who had stood up from the displaced sofa with Misaki’s help and was now vigilantly standing a little further away along with her daughter and Yoru, both of whom also seemed to be ready for combat, immediately interrupted him. “Darling~ don’t release powerful jutsu here...”

Her words interrupted Kakuzu, “Haven’t I said enough times already, I am not your ‘darling’...”

“Muu... you are still in denial...” Chiaki pouted, acting cute, which only made Kakuzu more disgusted and annoyed. But uncaring about what he thought, she shrugged her shoulders lightly. “But that’s fine
 just
don’t use any powerful jutsu here... I don’t want the building to be destroyed...”

“
Fine,” Kakuzu murmured, stopping the Fire Style jutsu. Instead, he bent down and picked up the Tantƍ that Fugaku had dropped earlier. He tested its weight in his hand for a moment before deciding to use the blade to attack Fugaku.

As a ninja who had been active for more than six decades, was there any weapon he couldn’t use expertly? Obviously not.

On the other hand, Fugaku clutched his throbbing temple and pursed his lips. That punch had hurt far more than it should have. Even now, his head was pounding as if he had been hit by a bull, telling him that the man possessed truly monstrous physical strength and that his skin was unnaturally hard.

Being punched in the head like that also reminded him of Might Duy, who had similarly overwhelming physical power and had beaten the shit out of him not too long ago.

Thinking of Might Duy, Fugaku trembled slightly and felt a growing sense of unease.

‘Why is such a strong ninja here?’ he frowned, finally sensing that something was really off.

He tentatively asked the man, “You are not really from the FĆ«ma Clan, are you?”

He had sensed danger from the man earlier, telling him the stranger was strong
but the man might be far stronger than he had initially expected. If such a powerful ninja was part of the FĆ«ma Clan, Fugaku would have definitely known about him
yet he couldn’t recall the man at all.

“FĆ«ma Clan? Yeah
I am not one of them...” Kakuzu nodded indifferently, twirling the short sword in his hand with practiced ease as he took a step forward.

“Only for now, that is,” Chiaki added with a bright, playful smile, as if enjoying the tension in the room.

“Unnecessary comment...” Kakuzu murmured in annoyance, not even bothering to glance at her.

Fugaku, still wary and on high alert, asked again, in a strained voice. “If you are not from the FĆ«ma Clan, then
 who are you?”

“Just a guy who loves money who is also going to beat the shit out of you for money...” Kakuzu responded calmly, taking another deliberate step forward.

“Beat the shit out of... me?” Fugaku murmured darkly, his expression twisting with intense rage and arrogance. What did this man take him for?

First, the man had interrupted his carefully laid plan, and now he was openly disrespecting him. Fugaku felt a deep surge of hatred and anger. Just because the man had some strength, he dared to look down on the true and rightful heir of the Uchiha Clan?

Filled with rage, he stared straight into the stranger’s eyes, a strange, confident smile forming on his lips as he spoke, “You say that you are going to beat me
 but
as a ninja, don’t you even know the basic rules of this shinobi world? Making eye contact with an Uchiha
do you not know the consequences of that?”

The moment he posed that question, Kakuzu’s eyes widened slightly. “What do you...?” He sounded a little panicked, as if only now recalling one of the most basic and well-known rules of the shinobi world: Never look an Uchiha directly in the eye.

He tried to avert his gaze immediately.

“Too late for that...” Fugaku smirked arrogantly as his three-tomoe Sharingan whirled slowly.

Under the overwhelming effect of his Sharingan, Kakuzu’s eerie eyes, those gleaming green pupils set against blood-red sclera, suddenly became dull and unfocused. Without being able to resist, the Genjutsu had taken effect, causing the man to freeze mid-step, his body locking up as his mind was trapped in the illusion.

Taking care of Kakuzu, Fugaku let out a mocking laugh. “Hahaha, he said that he was going to beat the shit out of me
but look at him now, hahaha...” He savored the small victory before his expression hardened once more. “No time to waste...”

Immediately, he turned his attention back toward Chiaki and Misaki.

The objective was never to defeat or kill the strange man head-on. It was to take a hostage in order to force the Fƫma Clan to submit to him. With that goal clear in his mind, Fugaku used the Body Flicker Technique and vanished from his spot, reappearing instantly in front of Misaki.

“You...” Misaki was startled, her eyes widening in shock as Fugaku suddenly appeared right before her, his hand already reaching out to grab her.

Against Fugaku’s blinding speed, Misaki wasn’t fast enough to back away. Before she could even react, Fugaku’s hand shot forward and clamped tightly around her slender neck, lifting her off the ground.

“Let... let go of me, you bastard...!!!” Misaki struggled fiercely, her legs kicking uselessly in the air as her face began turning a worrying shade of purple from the lack of oxygen. Her hands clawed desperately at his wrist, but his grip was like iron that she could only try to claw, but fail.

Fugaku ignored her desperate struggles and turned his cold gaze toward Chiaki, giving her the ultimatum. “I didn’t want to resort to this... but I have no other option now. The choice before you is simple. Either you do what I tell you to and submit to me
 or
You can say goodbye to your daughter...”

“I...” Chiaki’s face paled, her body tensing under his gaze.

Before she could even finish her response, Misaki, who appeared to be still choking and struggling to breathe, interrupted her mother with fierce defiance. “Okaa-san... There is no need to even talk with this pathetic man.”

Her continued resistance, even in such a dire state, only made Fugaku angrier. His eyes narrowed dangerously as he turned his gaze back to the struggling woman in his grasp. With a growl, he tightened his grip around her neck even further, cutting off what little air she had left.

But this time, Misaki didn’t seem affected at all. Despite being choked, she looked straight into Fugaku’s eyes fearlessly, her voice raspy yet filled with venom. “The FĆ«ma Clan isn’t going to support an incompetent man like you... and I am definitely not going to marry you, you pathetic cuck.”

“You...!!!” Being called a cuck on the face, Fugaku’s temper exploded beyond control. The grip with which he had been holding Misaki — just tight enough to make her struggle for breath but not kill her — could no longer remain restrained. It tightened violently in an instant, completely cutting off her air and crushing her neck with brutal force. “Die bitch!!!”

Crack...

There was a sharp cracking sound as Misaki’s neck gave way under the crushing pressure of Fugaku’s grip.

Instantly, her body went completely limp in his hand, her struggles ceasing instantly.

“Haaah... haaah...” He breathed heavily, his chest rising and falling with anger. A flicker of regret crossed his face. He was supposed to have taken Misaki hostage to force Chiaki into submission
but overcome by rage, he had ended up killing the woman.

“Tch...” he clicked his tongue in irritation. But he couldn’t be blamed. Misaki had really dared to laugh at his humiliation, mocked him as a cuck, and ‘advised’ him to kill himself
 how could he tolerate that?

Although the outcome was regrettable, it didn’t matter now. ‘Even if I keep Chiaki hostage, I should be able to control the FĆ«ma Clan...’ he thought coldly, releasing his grip on Misaki’s body. Her lifeless form dropped heavily to the ground with a dull thud.

Well, that was supposed to have happened.

But
the lifeless body, the moment it landed on the floor, suddenly exploded into a thick cloud of white smoke, startling Fugaku as his figure was also swallowed.

“W-what? Shadow Clone? When?” Fugaku murmured, still in shock. ‘No wait
that’s not important. If this was a Shadow Clone, then the real one...’

Suddenly, he sensed something rapidly approaching from his blind spot.

‘From the side...’ he thought instinctively. Reacting on pure reflex, Fugaku raised his arm to block the incoming attack.

“Poor choice of defence, hmmnyaa~” The voice was unmistakably Misaki’s, though it now carried a distinctly feline, playful purr to it as she closed in with terrifying speed on all fours like a cat, moving with unnatural agility and grace before swiping one hand viciously at his raised arm.

Sha!

Her hand, covered in a layer of chakra and shaped like the sharp claws of a cat, slashed viciously across Fugaku’s forearm.

The sleeve was torn instantly, and the sharp, pointed nails made up of Chakra dug deep into his flesh, spurting out blood.

Puff!

“Gaahh...!” Fugaku cried out in pain, but he endured it and spun around, delivering a powerful roundhouse kick toward Misaki.

“Not so fyasst~” she purred. With heightened senses and reaction speed of a feline attained thanks to the partial cloak of Chakra, she twisted her body mid-air, dodging the kick gracefully before landing a safe distance away.

It was only then that Fugaku managed to get a proper look at her.

Misaki’s body was now partially cloaked in a layer of chakra that gave her distinct feline, cat-like ears and a slender, swaying tail. Then there were also those sharp, glowing chakra claws extending from her fingertips and covering her arms up to her elbows like gauntlets, along with similar Chakra boots around her feet.

“What Jutsu is it?” Fugaku frowned, observing the unfamiliar cloak of Chakra.

“Cat Cloak Jutsu... How is it
Do you like my Secret Jutsu?! It had taken a lot of time and special training to master it,” Misaki purred while raising her chakra-covered paw to her mouth and licking it like a contented cat. At the same time, her tail swayed lazily behind her ass as she watched him with gleaming, mischievous eyes.

“Haah
It’s indeed something I have seen for the first time
 but
do you think that you have what it takes to defeat me?” Fugaku snorted. Although he was a little surprised by her Jutsu, since he had neither seen nor heard of a Jutsu like this before, it didn’t mean it would be enough to defeat him.

“Who said I am the one who needs to defeat you...?” Having said that, Misaki suddenly called out toward the person behind Fugaku, “Hey, new Otou-san... how long are you going to keep pretending?”

“!!!” Fugaku’s eyes widened. Suddenly, he felt danger closing in from behind and tried to react. But
 he wasn’t fast enough.

Before he could move, something wrapped around his body. Looking down, he noticed that they were thick, thread-like tendrils that coiled around his arms, legs, torso, and neck, restraining him completely.

‘What in the world
?’ he thought, stunned, not expecting the situation to reverse so drastically and so quickly. He tried to break free from them, but the tendrils were like steel cables, leaving him with almost no room to even move his limbs, let alone break them despite using all his strength.

At that time, a deep, gravelly voice came from behind Fugaku. It addressed Misaki rather than him. “Haven’t I said it enough times already
 I am not your ‘Otou-san.’”

“Right
 right
I know new Otou-san is too shy and needs time to accept his reality, I totally get it
” Misaki waved her hand dismissively, not taking his refusal seriously at all. Her tail swayed playfully behind her as she grinned, which only annoyed Kakuzu further. “No, you are not getting it at all!”

“What am I not getting?” Misaki asked innocently, turning to her mother. “Okaa-san, did I say something wrong?”

“No... You didn’t,” Chiaki smiled warmly and shook her head, amused by the exchange.

“You know what, forget it...” Kakuzu sighed heavily, too tired to keep arguing with this troublesome mother-daughter duo. He felt a rare sense of exhaustion creeping in.

“Ufufu, I am glad darling is so understanding,” Chiaki teased him with a bright, mischievous smile.

“Understanding your father,” Kakuzu clicked his tongue in irritation, not knowing whether to laugh or cry at this ridiculous situation. Internally, he couldn’t help but complain to Kanzou, ‘Did you have to force me to stay here and protect these two?’

Dissatisfied and furious at their casual exchange while he was bound, Fugaku growled at the man, “You
how did you break out of the Genjutsu so quickly?”

The Genjutsu had been cast by him personally using his Sharingan. Even if the man was strong, he shouldn’t have been able to break free so effortlessly
and even if he had, there should have been visible strain or backlash.

“Break out? Why’d I need to break out?” Kakuzu shrugged indifferently in response.

“Don’t mess with me... Didn’t you break out of the Genjutsu?” Fugaku asked again.

“Not really
?” Kakuzu replied, shaking his head as he stepped closer while explaining. “After all, to break out of the Genjutsu, first there is a need to be subjected to it
 Unfortunately for you
Genjutsu of that level doesn’t work on me. I was never really subjected to the Genjutsu. I was just pretending, looking for an opportunity...”

Of course, Kakuzu was bluffing to some extent. It wasn’t that Genjutsu didn’t work on him at all; it was more that he could easily break out of most of them thanks to the forbidden technique of Earth Grudge Fear that sustained his body. Each of the hearts sealed inside him acted like an individual entity, capable of disrupting and shattering illusions without him needing to break out of them explicitly.

“Unless it’s a Genjutsu that can affect the time and space of the person affected
it won’t work on me,” Kakuzu added, his eerie green-pupiled eyes locked onto Fugaku, probing for a reaction. ‘This guy is also a Uchiha and was the former heir
does he know what kind of Genjutsu Uchiha Kanzou can use?’ he wondered internally.

Aside from feeling exasperated by the troublesome mother-daughter duo, even while working for Kanzou, Kakuzu, who preferred to remain the master of his own fate, didn’t like living in fear of someone else’s power. If he could figure out a way to counter that special Genjutsu of Kanzou’s, he wouldn’t need to be so cautious.

“Genjutsu that affects time and space?” Fugaku frowned, confused. He had no clue what Kakuzu was talking about. What kind of Genjutsu could manipulate time and space? He had never heard of such a Genjutsu.

“Haah
 well
obviously, you can’t use something like that
so your Genjutsus are useless on me,” Kakuzu replied with a disappointed sigh. ‘Looks like only Uchiha Kanzou can use that kind of Genjutsu and has knowledge of it.’

This made it difficult for him to find a way not to be at the mercy of Uchiha Kanzou.

‘This isn’t good, am I always going to live at the mercy of that guy?’ he was unhappy and sad.

Shaking his head slightly, he looked toward Misaki and Chiaki, “What to do with him now? It’s better to kill him, right?”

Before Misaki or Chiaki could respond, Fugaku, who was tightly bound and seemingly unable to move, suddenly smirked, “Kill me...? Hahaha...?!”

Kakuzu frowned, starting to sense something was off. “Wait
 could it be—”

His words were interrupted halfway as the figure of Fugaku that had been tightly bound by Kakuzu’s threads exploded into a thick cloud of white smoke.

Poof!

“What? Shadow Clone? He too?!” Misaki exclaimed, her cat-like ears twitching in shock.

‘Damn it
I dropped my guard because of these two women
I have to find him,’ Kakuzu thought, his expression darkening with irritation. If not for the two of them annoying him with their ‘darling’ and ‘Otou-san’ crap, he’d definitely not have made such a rookie mistake.

Immediately, he withdrew the black tendrils and his hardened fist, preparing to search for Fugaku.

But right at that moment, intense lightning surged violently through his entire body.

Crackle—!

“Gaah...” he coughed out a mouthful of blood, his body jolting as a searing, electric pain exploded in his chest.

“Darling!!” Chiaki cried out in alarm, her eyes widening as she saw a blade enveloped in crackling electricity, protruding from Kakuzu’s chest.

Drip... drip...

Blood flowed freely from the deep wound in Kakuzu’s chest as he weakly turned his head toward the man behind him, his voice strained and raspy. “That Shadow Clone
did you make it when the girl’s Shadow Clone exploded?”

Fugaku blinked for a moment before a cold, satisfied smirk formed on his lips. “A bit late to realize that
”

When Misaki’s body had exploded into white smoke and enveloped him, Fugaku had immediately sensed something was wrong. In that split second, he had created a Shadow Clone and used a transformation technique to switch places. He was glad he had acted so quickly; otherwise, he would have been caught by the man’s tendrils and wouldn’t have had any way to resist.

“Yeah...” Kakuzu clicked his tongue weakly, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. “It looks like it’s my defeat...”

“It is,” Fugaku nodded coldly. Then, with a sharp twist, he withdrew his blade in one smooth motion.

Kakuzu’s body swayed for a brief moment before collapsing heavily onto the ground with a dull sound.

Thud!

Different from Misaki, Kakuzu’s body didn’t explode into smoke, which relieved Fugaku. ‘Not a clone
’ But at the same time, he felt a flicker of regret that the man was dead.

‘It doesn’t matter, I guess
’ he thought, stepping past the fallen man’s body without a second glance, his eyes now locked onto the two women.

“Initially, I didn’t want to kill him as I had thought that he could have been useful to me
 but
it seems it wasn’t going to be possible to subdue the FĆ«ma Clan as long as he was alive...” he said to Chiaki and Misaki, his voice calm and menacing as he flicked the blood off his blade with a casual flick of his wrist.

“Is that supposed to scare us?” Misaki asked, her voice tense but still defiant, refusing to show fear even now.

“Yes, you should be scared... because now, there is no one left to protect you two... surrendering is the only way,” Fugaku nodded, a cruel smile spreading across his face as he took a step toward them.

“What now, Misaki?” Chiaki looked at her daughter, her voice a little tense.

Misaki sighed, rubbing her temple for a moment before speaking. “Looks like there’s no other choice—”

Fugaku smiled inwardly, a satisfaction rising in his chest. ‘Is she finally surrendering?’

If Misaki surrenders and agrees to marry him, then Chiaki would naturally make sure that the Fƫma Clan also cooperates and helps him in reclaiming his position as the rightful patriarch of the Uchiha Clan.

Wasn’t that his very objective for coming here? Finally, it was getting completed.

‘A little late to accept, but better late than never...’ he thought.

It’s a pity he got happy too quickly because Misaki wasn’t finished.

She noted the satisfying smile on Fugaku’s face and smirked mockingly in response as she continued, “—no other choice but to let this cuck know the real reason why I would never marry him...”

‘This bitch...!’ Fugaku felt his fury reignite upon being called a cuck again. But then he heard the part about the real reason. “The real reason why you’d never marry me?” He murmured with a frown. ‘Then what about the reason she spoke of until now?’

“That’s right... the real reason why I would never marry you,” she nodded, giggling as she looked at him as if he were the most pathetic creature alive and revealed the reason, “It’s because I am already Kanzou-sama’s woman!”

“Huh?” Fugaku was stunned, not reacting for a moment. His brain was unable to figure out what Misaki said. It took him a moment to process what she meant, and when he processed that, his eyes widened in complete disbelief as the words hit him like a physical blow. “What??!! You... you are...”

“Nyufufufu~” Misaki giggled louder, enjoying his shocked and stupefied reaction. She added with cruel delight, “That’s right, you cuck. I am Kanzou-sama’s woman
I have been his woman for several years already. There’s not a part of me that he hasn’t already claimed...”

“Misaki... you...” Chiaki sighed at her daughter’s shameless admittance.

“Ahem...” Misaki coughed. She felt shy and ashamed about openly admitting this in front of her mother... but, ahem, the reaction she got from Fugaku made her feel worth it. Looking mockingly at him, she added, “Marrying an ugly, pathetic man like you? You can forget about it...”

“You
 you
You!!!” The sudden revelation hit Fugaku like a hammer. His face turned an ugly shade of green as rage and humiliation flooded him.

The woman he had been planning to marry, even if only temporarily in order to subdue the FĆ«ma Clan
she was already that bastard Kanzou’s woman?

Hearing it directly from Misaki’s mouth, Fugaku had the overwhelming feeling that he had been cucked again
