Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 222

DMS Chapter 222

The next day, during breakfast, Elemendora and Arementil excitedly talked about the movies they had watched the previous night.

Flinx was surprised to learn that the two had chosen to watch Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI.

When he handed the DVDs to them, Flinx gave the children a brief description of each film. It had taken him quite a while because he had given them around thirty DVDs.

More than likely, Luke Skywalker’s story had resonated with them.

At the very least, since Flinx had seen all the movies he had given them, he could indulge them by talking about the films.

As the two elven children excitedly discussed the movies, Flinx felt a little glad that, for a brief moment, the two elves he had initially mistaken for teenagers had forgotten about their situation and returned to being the children they truly were.

Flinx wondered why he always seemed to attract troubled children, but he thought that, more than likely, it was because he was predisposed to helping them.

If he was being honest, he had never thought of himself as some kind of saint. Flinx considered himself selfish, always putting himself first. However, he knew that deep down, he couldn’t simply look away when something cruel was happening right in front of him, especially when that cruelty was being inflicted on children.

That was why he had avoided places in Ilioven that tempted him to involve himself in matters he had no business getting involved in.

The orphanage was one good example.

David and the others had repeatedly told him not to get involved, but Flinx had always been tempted to do something simply because he believed he had the means to help.

The two elves kept reiterating throughout breakfast that the Star Wars films were the greatest things they had ever seen.

They started asking him several questions about the movies, wanting to know whether the things they had seen were real.

When Flinx repeatedly told them that the movies weren’t real and that everything had been performed by actors using something called movie magic, they had a hard time believing him.

Their questions opened up several different topics, including the fact that the world was round and revolved around the sun.

He also explained that the sun was a star, but it was simply the closest star to the planet they lived on.

Since Flinx had decided to stay in that location for the day, he didn’t mind that the three of them started discussing science.

However, he eventually became tired of explaining so many things to the two elves. He simply purchased some elementary science books and cast the Tongue spell on them again, this time using a higher-level spell slot to give it a longer duration.

He then handed the books to the two elven children.

The two immediately became fascinated with the science books and became completely absorbed in them.

Flinx told them to take the books to their room, and they eagerly ran off to continue reading.

He knew that once they became tired of reading, they would probably return to watching the movies he had given them, or playing Plants Vs Zombies on their laptops.

In the meantime, Flinx spent the morning chatting with his friends on Earth using the web-based messenger they used to communicate.

He learned that many of them had started persuading their family members to relocate to Ilioven.

They had only begun trying to persuade their relatives after returning from their expedition into the wild dungeon.

The magic items they had brought back with them were what they used to convince their family members that the other world was real.

A major issue among the families of the former dungeon slaves was that their relatives would only receive the system, a class, and all the benefits that came with it, such as magic and longer lifespans.

Flinx learned from his friends that one of the main points they used to persuade their family members to relocate to the other world was that, because of the transmigration system’s shopping site, they would retain access to the modern conveniences Earth could offer.

The fact that class holders like themselves could earn mana stones by delving into dungeons meant they would be able to accumulate tremendous amounts of wealth, which they could then use to purchase things from the system shopping site.

However, some of their family members remained hesitant because they would be moving to an alien world with an unfamiliar culture.

They would essentially be leaving behind their friends and many of their relatives to venture into the unknown.

Flinx knew that sooner or later, all of the former dungeon slaves would return to the other world, probably with or without their families.

The benefits provided by the transmigration system and the classes they would receive were simply too great to ignore forever.

Flinx thought, however, that it would probably be a while before any of them decided to return to the other world because they were all still undergoing therapy.

The trauma they had experienced as slaves was tremendous, and it would be beneficial for everyone to receive proper mental care before deciding what they wanted to do with their futures.

Flinx was a little envious because he would also like to receive psychiatric help.

The problem was that he couldn’t return to Earth for an extended period. If he stayed there too long, he would lose his transmigration gift, which would prevent him from returning to the second world.

Then he thought of something outrageous.

What if he hired a psychologist who was willing to travel to the other world to treat him?

The thought excited him, so he messaged Paul, who was the medical doctor among his friends, about it.

“I can look for someone who would be willing to travel there to help you,” Paul said after Flinx mentioned that he was willing to pay whatever it took to receive professional help.

“They don’t have to stay long. From what I know, I probably need to speak with them for an hour or two once or twice a week. I could simply bring them over during those sessions and then return them to Earth afterward,” Flinx said.

“You’ll have to be open and candid about everything that happened. That means showing them proof. It would be easier for you since you’re already in the other world. Thankfully, most of the people helping us have started to believe us because of the magic items we brought back from that dungeon expedition,” Paul said.

The decision to seek professional mental health care made Flinx happy.

Paul promised that he would look for a doctor who would be willing to help him as soon as possible.

After his conversation with his friends on Earth, Flinx felt satisfied.

The rain had started again, and since it was still a few hours before noon, he spent the time reading a book and occasionally watching the rain through the window of his bedroom.

When noon arrived, he went outside, purchased a simple lunch for everyone, and called the two elves.

After they ate, the two elven children rushed back to their room to either watch a movie, play a game on their laptops, or read the science books he had given them.

During the afternoon, Flinx became a little restless, so he left the cabin to explore the surrounding area.

Walking through the nearby forest calmed him.

The autumn-colored leaves looked gorgeous, and he simply appreciated the beauty surrounding him.

After a while, he returned to the log cabin, took a long, hot shower, and continued reading his book in his bedroom.

By evening, he prepared dinner for everyone and called the two elves.

While they were eating, he reminded them that their journey would resume the following day, so they needed to get a full night’s rest.
