DMS Chapter 162
DMS Chapter 162
After around three days, Flinx’s friends informed him that they had finished converting all their assets into something they could use on Earth and were ready to return home.
Flinx was extremely surprised that all of his fellow Earthlings had chosen to return to Earth. He had expected that a few of them would decide to remain in Ilioven. In truth, he was a little envious. Every one of them had families they wanted to return to, and despite losing hope that they would ever be able to go back to Earth, they had never stopped communicating with their loved ones.
Paul once told him that most Earthling slaves would cut off contact with their families around their fourth or fifth year as slaves. The longest-serving slave among them was Mark, and he admitted that he had nearly decided to stop communicating with his parents and siblings.
Mark also told him that everyone had discussed their decision to return to their families. What ultimately convinced them was the fact that if they truly wanted to return to this world and start over as adventurers with classes, they could simply ask Flinx to bring them back from Earth someday.
“I’m willing to do that for you guys, but didn’t you consider that this is a dangerous world? There’s a chance that I might meet my end, and none of you would ever be able to return here,” Flinx asked.
“We considered that. Everyone still wanted to return home to their families first. But please expect that some of us will probably ask you to bring us back from Earth, maybe as soon as a few months from now,” Mark said, with Paul nodding in agreement.
Flinx simply shrugged and reiterated that he was willing to do it for them. Everyone had joined the group on the web-based messenger that Mark had created, and they would use it to send Flinx any important information or requests regarding travel between the two worlds. For less important matters, they would continue using the forums that the Earthlings had always relied on.
For security reasons, Mark had chosen a web-based messenger with high subscription fees. He still had active accounts that he could use to pay for services on Earth. They decided to use a paid platform because they believed that something expensive would be more secure and stable. They also researched the history of the service, and it had existed for more than ten years. They wanted something reliable that would not suddenly disappear.
As a test, everyone would use the messenger for a month to communicate and confirm its stability. After that, they would only use it during emergencies and return to using the forums for regular communication.
Since their return to Earth would happen in batches, they decided to wait until everyone had arrived so they could help each other until everyone was reunited with their families. They had also changed into clothes from Earth that they had purchased through their System Shopping Site.
Some of them would need assistance because a few were citizens of other countries. Thankfully, many of them were capable individuals who could help. Paul alone would be able to provide significant support since he was an extremely wealthy doctor of medicine and had kept his finances on Earth in good condition through the internet, even while mining mana stones with no hope of ever returning.
Mark was also a wealthy man before he was transported to the world of the Torbal Slavers. He had managed to keep the chaos caused by his disappearance to a minimum through his continued use of the internet.
When everyone was ready, Flinx immediately transported them in batches using the Plane Shift spell. Soon, everyone had arrived at the park beside the apartment where Flinx had lived before.
Thankfully, even though it was afternoon and there were people nearby, no one noticed their sudden appearance.
Flinx said his goodbyes quickly and immediately returned to Ilioven. He was still worried that the shield protecting him from losing access to the system would disappear. When he checked his system panel, he saw that the shield protecting him from the attack of Earth’s consciousness had been reduced to sixty percent durability.
He accessed the website of the messenger they had subscribed to and informed everyone that he had safely returned to Ilioven. He also told them that his shield still had sixty percent durability remaining. Everyone was anxious about that since Flinx was their only connection to a world where they could obtain magic.
Everyone had admitted that there was a high possibility that someday, all of them would ask Flinx to teleport them back to Ilioven. A few of his fellow Earthlings had even privately told him that they planned to convince their families to relocate to Ilioven as soon as possible.
That fact made Flinx slightly envious. He had no family or friends on Earth that he needed to convince to move to Ilioven. He consoled himself by thinking about his adopted family: the four children, Olivia, Ambrose, and Christopher.
The strongest argument they could make was that even if their families relocated to the world of magic, where the Kingdom of Ilinestor was located, they would still have access to Earth’s products through the System Shopping Site. Combined with the power of magic, they would be able to live an incredible life in this alien world.
Looking at the compound that had become empty once again, Flinx felt a little sad. He felt lost. Achieving his immediate goal of helping others return to Earth left him feeling as if he had nothing else to accomplish.
Then Flinx remembered that he was in a magical world.
He decided that it was time for him to start exploring.
He was a powerful dual-class holder and had access to a System Shopping Site that allowed him to travel in comfort. Even if he began exploring the world, his ability to teleport would allow him to return to his tower instantly. He could continue supplying Olivia’s shop with products, and in return, his gold coin savings would keep growing.
The amount of mana stones he had managed to save was also staggering, so he had no concerns about his finances.
He did not even need to stop leveling up. There were dungeons scattered throughout the world, and he could visit them to continue growing stronger while exploring.
Flinx considered buying an RV so he could travel in style, but he quickly realized that navigating the local roads with a massive vehicle would probably be a nightmare. Instead, he decided to follow what some of the others had done and buy an off-road vehicle capable of handling different terrains.
When he needed to rest, he could simply cast Galder’s Tower and instantly have a comfortable home wherever he was.
The fact that his fourth inventory tab had become incredibly spacious meant that he could even store his vehicle inside without any problems.
Flinx began browsing the System Shopping Site for a suitable off-road vehicle. When he found one he liked, he immediately purchased it.
It cost him 30,000 dollars, but when the vehicle appeared in front of him, he was extremely satisfied with his purchase.
He filled the tank with fuel and then waited for everyone to return home so he could tell them about his decision to explore the different kingdoms of this world. He would not even bother conducting research beforehand. He would simply follow the roads and see where they led. If he reached a dead end, he could just teleport back home and start again.
The moment Flinx decided to begin his adventure, his excitement returned, and his loneliness began to fade.
What was there to feel lonely about when an entire magical world was waiting for him to explore?
