DMS Chapter 111
DMS Chapter 111
For the next three days, Flinx was highly motivated to delve into the last floor of the Dungeon of Mara twice a day. He would start after breakfast and would usually reach the dungeon’s entrance at around half past six in the morning. Because of the huge number of mana stones and magic items that he had received, he even considered delving three times a day, but if he did it, Flinx knew that he would be burnt out after a short amount of time.
After those three days, Flinx's experience points reached 24 percent. He also received five magic items. At first, Flinx thought that all items that he would receive from delving into the dungeon would be somewhat useful in battle, but three of them were actually novelty items. The first one was called Basket of Bounty. It would actually produce enough food for six people once a week. When Flinx tried it with the others, the food was simple fare but delicious and filling. The item would have been extremely useful for adventurers if it could produce food more than once a week.
When he told Ambrose to sell it, David said that he wanted to have it. Apparently, living as street rats made the children extra sensitive to food, so the fact that there was a magic item that could produce food, even just once a week, was extremely magical to them. Flinx simply gave the Basket of Bounty to the children.
The second item was called the Chronologist Bracers. It was an extremely simple yet beautifully designed bracelet that would allow the wearer to know the exact time in the city they were currently in. Since Flinx didn’t need the second item, he kept it to be given to Ambrose to be sold.
The third item was called the Chef’s Knife. It’s a bone-handled knife that would allow the user to wield the knife as if he or she were a master chef. He would also ask Ambrose to sell it, but he would allow Olivia to buy it for Christopher if she wanted, but he had already given the knife to Olivia for safekeeping.
The last two items were somewhat useful for adventurers. The fourth item was the famous Bag of Holding, and it was an impressive item. It had a 500-pound weight limit and a volume limit of 64 cubic feet. The bag would always weigh 15 pounds, regardless of what was inside. Its dimensions were roughly 2 feet wide and 4 feet deep, meaning that any items larger than the said dimensions would not fit.
The last item was going to be extremely useful for anyone. It’s called the Wand of Healing. It would allow the user to cast Cure Wounds up to 3 times a day, the Restoration spell twice a day, and Mass Cure Wounds once a day, and all charges would be fully restored after 48 hours.
Since the wizard class had very limited healing spells, Flinx decided to keep the Wand of Healing.
After three days, Flinx only had a measly 25 gold coins left in his 4th tab space. Because of that, he decided to sell the Chronological Bracers and the Bag of Holding directly to the Adventurer’s Guild instead of letting Ambrose sell them. His gold funds climbed back again to 525 gold coins.
Flinx also earned a total of 90 low-level mana stones, 75 medium-level mana stones, and 50 high-level mana stones after those three days. He paid all of the required tax immediately, since he didn’t like owing Ilioven anything. He was happy about earning a huge number of mana stones. He had a feeling that he would need a lot of them in the future.
After three days of delving into the dungeon 10 hours a day, Flinx felt a little tired, so he decided to rest for a day. Since Flinx had decided to stay at home, Olivia gave the four children a day off so they could accompany him at home.
Olivia would be at the shop, Christopher would be at the restaurant of his teacher's restaurant, and Ambrose was finally given enough coins by Olivia to enroll in a prestigious school that teaches young people fighting and survival skills as an adventurer, whether they do their adventures in the field or deep inside dungeon floors.
Since the area in Ilioven where they were was fairly safe, Ambrose and Christopher told Flinx that they didn’t need the stone golems to follow them. Because of that, two of the golems were now always at Olivia’s store, and the third one was assigned to be the four kids’ nanny.
After every closing, Olivia would be followed home by one of the golems as her bodyguard, and the second one would remain at the shop as its guard.
On his rest day, Flinx decided to purchase a movie compact disc player so he could watch movies with David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet. He had to choose movies that didn’t have any spoken language since he didn’t want to bother translating those movies for the kids. Thankfully, there were a lot of animated films that didn’t have any spoken words, like Disney’s Fantasia, and that new cat film “Flow”. He purchased all the animated films that he could find on his System Shopping site that didn’t have any spoken language.
Once Olivia and her two brothers left, the first thing that Flinx and the four children did in the early morning was play with Pondy. While the kids were swimming, Flinx decided to sunbathe. Once they got hungry, instead of going outside, he decided to serve some of the food that he had cooked that was stored in his 4th tab space. While they were eating, Flinx and the children started watching the animated film Fantasia.
The four children were extremely amazed by the movie, and Flinx saw that the four had regained some sense of childlike wonder. He was happy with that since he didn’t like seeing the children sporting a world-weary gaze. Flinx remembered when he was young, he loved Christmas because to him, it was a time filled with magic, and he wanted the four orphans to have something like that, even just a little bit.
Most of the movies that Flinx purchased were movies that he also hadn’t seen yet, since most of the movies that he chose to watch were the regular ones where the cast spoke, so he, too, was entertained greatly by the film.
After the movie ended, Flinx answered all of the kids’ questions about the film, like how it was created and whether it was all magic. They were unbelieving when he told them that the movies were created by normal people and that the creators didn’t use an iota of magic. He described to them a little of the process of creating animated films.
Flinx then taught David how to operate the CD Movie Player, like how to put the CD movies in the CD Player. He taught the kid how to connect the CD Player to the generator so it would have power and how to connect the device to the projector.
The second movie they watched was the new film called “Flow,” and Flinx was a little proud of David because the kid was the one who operated all the devices.
After the movie ended, the four kids were greatly excited. Flinx decided to bring them out of the tower so they could eat somewhere else. The children carried their toys with them, but kept on talking about the two films they had seen.
