As per Flinx and the adventurers' agreement, they gave all the mana stones they had collected to him. At a quick count, he earned a total of 27 low-level mana stones, which Flinx thought was a decent amount of mana stones for the floor. Regarding experience points, the last time he checked, he was 0.75 percent to 1 percent after reaching level 7 on his wizard class. Now it was 0.76 percent. That meant that all those monsters from the 10th floor only netted him around 0.01 percent. The amount was acceptable, considering the dungeon monsters were killed easily by his summons.
Still, Flinx wouldn’t return to the 10th floor and would delve into the 20th floor the next time he entered Mara Dungon. He even thought of delving directly to the 30th floor, but he was still a little wary of biting off more than he could chew. Looking at George’s team situation, they jumped the gun and delved directly to the 10th floor. If he hadn’t arrived to assist them, there was a good chance that they could have met their demise on the floor. He didn’t want something like that happening to him. Flinx did feel a little pressure on leveling up as soon as possible so he could help his fellow dungeon miner slaves, but he knew that he should be wise on the process of leveling up his class since there’s a chance that if he didn’t think his steps thoroughly, instead of leveling up, he could instead lose his life.
Flinx didn’t use his Teleport skill to exit the 10th floor. After dismissing the three earth elementals he summoned, he joined George’s group in leaving the 10th floor. He thought that it would be better to use the Teleport skill when he’s alone. He didn’t want the Adventurer Guild to think that he was bypassing them because he wanted to avoid paying the entrance fee and the loot tax.
Once he settled his responsibility with the guild, which thankfully accepted gold coins instead of mana stones. He didn’t want to part with any of his newly acquired mana stones since his system needed them. Since he earned a total of 27 low-level mana stones, which were equivalent to 2,700 gold coins, 20 percent of that was 540 gold coins. After paying for the 20 percent loot tax to the guild, Flinx only had a total of 1,411 gold coins left. He thought that his gold coins were still enough, so he didn’t worry about it. Still, he decided to push Olivia to open the small shop that he thought the family should open, and he knew that if he really wanted to earn a lot of coins, he would need to utilize his system shopping site.
After saying goodbye to George and his team, who kept thanking him for his assistance, Flinx started walking home. While he was walking, he thought that even if he had decided to use items from his system shopping site, he would need to make sure to choose items that the family could sell that would not step on anyone’s toes. He didn’t want the family to make any enemies. He also would need to choose items that he could purchase from his system and store an incredible amount of them without them going bad, so that even if he didn’t buy the said items for a good amount of time, the shop Olivia would open would have enough inventory to last the shop a while.
When Flinx arrived at the Galder’s tower, the first thing he did was renew the Galder’s Tower spell. He didn’t want the tower to suddenly disappear. Flinx would be extremely relieved once the tower was permanent. The two earth elementals that he summoned to guard the four kids, Olivia, and her brothers, were standing guard by the door.
Flinx was greeted by everyone when he entered the tower. He was a little glad that Christopher cooked a somewhat nutritious food for the family, but if he was being honest, Christopher’s cooking was not the best. At least, Olivia’s brother was aware of his level and promised everyone that he would improve his cooking.
“What are you talking about? The food was great!” David said, and Arcios, Keero, and Violet agreed with him.
The adults ignored what the kids had said about the food. They knew that the four kids' food expectation was a low since they grew up eating subpar food.
While they were eating, they talked about Olivia’s shopping mission, and he learned that they would need two to three more days before all the shopping could be completed. Then they talked about what kind of business the family would open, and Flinx started talking about food carts since Christopher mentioned that he wanted to utilize cooking in the business that they would open. After a while, Flinx told Olivia and her two brothers that opening a food business wouldn’t earn them a lot of coins compared to the amount of work they would need to commit. He reminded them that the primary reason he hired them was to make sure that kids were taught the things they would need to function as normal citizens of Ilioven, and if they were focused on business like a food shop, there was a chance that the kids would be neglected.
Flinx saw that the kids were getting bored with their talks, so he gave permission for them to leave. They all ran upstairs to their rooms to play.
“So what kind of shop do you want to open?” Olivia asked while Christopher and Ambrose continued to listen.
“As you know, I’m capable of conjuring a lot of things. I think that the best thing that we can sell is something that I can conjure a lot of, so that the shop would have a good amount of stored inventory here at the tower, so that even if I’m busy delving dungeons, the shop wouldn’t run out of products to sell. We also need to make sure that the items that we’ll choose to sell will not step on any merchant's toes, so we’ll not incur any enemies.”
The four of them started thinking about which items their shop would sell. Christopher asked if Flinx could conjure spices, and he confirmed that he could, but he advised against selling spices since they’re incredibly valuable and would make them a target.
“If you need coins, why don’t you just conjure them if you can conjure a lot of things?” Ambrose asked.
“I can’t conjure gold coins, but if I’m being honest, it was almost the same, because some of the things I can conjure are incredibly valuable. Like salt and spices. I will admit to you one thing, though, and please keep these to yourselves. I couldn't really conjure things from nothing. The fuel that I’m using is mana stones. That meant that for me to conjure items, I still needed to work hard to earn mana stones from dungeons. The only reason why I’m being a little convoluted and not directly selling the mana stones for coins was that I needed them for specific things and could only use a little of them to fuel my conjurations. Still, the items I can conjure using just a small amount of mana stones are incredibly valuable and can be sold for a lot of gold coins. Again, a good example is salt.”
