Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 80

DMS Chapter 80

Flinx was relieved that George, the middle-aged man who was the leader of the adventurer group, didn’t insist on paying for the three Healing Elixirs he gave them. What he didn’t know was that the adventurers were extremely relieved and grateful that Flinx didn’t insist on payment for the potions because they knew that they couldn’t afford to pay for what the potions were worth. Based on their effectiveness, the potions were top-tier, and even if all of them sell all of their assets, they still wouldn’t be able to afford the potions.

“We bit off more than we can chew when we entered the 10th floor. Our regular hunting grounds were the 8th floor of Mara’s dungeon. When we attempted the 9th floor, we found it just a little harder than the 8th floor, so we thought that we could handle this floor and attempt to kill the elite monster at the end. I conclude that we have to return to delving the 8th, possibly the 9th floor,” George told Flinx.

If Flinx was being honest, he still wasn’t satisfied with the dungeon monsters that he killed. He wanted more information, so after thinking for a couple of minutes, which basically meant him just staring at George and his party, which, funny enough, made them extremely nervous, he decided on something.

“What about this. I’ll join your party for now and help you complete this floor. In return, let me have all the mana stones, and you can have all the materials that you want to harvest from the dungeon monsters. I’ll make sure that all of you are safe. I still want to check out the monsters on this floor,” Flinx asked George, and the man replied immediately, “Deal!”

Flinx saw that the adventurers became extremely excited. They started harvesting the parts from the monster that they could sell for coins and gathering all the mana stones that dropped to give to him.

“Weird. The mana stones are glowing,” One of the adventurers said.

“Oh, that’s because of my spell. My spell gave this light that resonates with the mana stones, so they glowed, which allows me to find all of them,” Flinx told the adventurer.

While the adventurers were busy harvesting monsters, Flinx thought of how he could help the adventurers fight. He didn’t want to just cast spell after spell. Might as well just invite them to be the audience if he lets that happen.

The best thing that he could think of was to lend them a summon to act as their tank. That way, they could just focus on dealing damage to dungeon monsters. Based on what he had seen in their combat earlier, they truly lack a tank. Well, they lacked a healer as well, but that’s another matter.

Flinx immediately cast the 4th-level spell Summon Elemental, slotted on the 7th-level spell slot. That allowed him to summon an extremely powerful Earth Elemental. He made sure that it looked the same as the stone golems that he had summoned to guard the four kids, Olivia, and her brothers.

After the 7th-level spell slot was available, he slotted the 5th-level spell Planar Binding on the earth elemental to increase its duration. The adventurers noticed what he had done, and George approached him.

“What is that, Sir Flinx?”

“Just call me, Flinx. It’s a powerful stone golem that I summoned. Let it be the frontliner to soak up the damage from the dungeon monsters while you focus on killing the monsters. It’s incredibly hardy and wouldn’t be damaged by the attack of the denizens of this place.”

All of the adventurers smiled when they heard what Flinx had said. After they were done harvesting, which, to Flinx dismayed took a while, George handed all of the mana stones, which were all low-level mana stones, and they moved forward. Once they reached the next set of dungeon monsters, which were around 12 rock wolves, Flinx commanded the stone golem to run forward and used its ground stomp spell to attract all the rock wolves.

Everyone was flabbergasted, including Flinx, when they saw that just one stamp from the Earth Golem killed more than half of the rock wolves, and another ground stomp finished all of the dungeon monsters.

Flinx just sighed and bowed to the inevitable since the 10th floor was truly weak compared to his level. While the adventurers started harvesting the monsters, he spoke with George.

“George, just let my summons kill the dungeon monster, and just harvest the monsters for me. Is that okay?”

“Of course. We’re basically earning a lot of coins without doing much work,” George replied.

What Flinx didn’t know was that the adventurers were too much in awe of his power to deny him anything.

At first, Flinx thought that maybe he was taking advantage of the adventurers, but he remembered that George and his team had decided to leave the 10th floor, and only continued moving forward because he asked them to continue while he promised to keep them safe. He summoned a second and a third earth elementals while he waited for the adventurer to complete their harvesting. He wanted to complete this floor as soon as possible, and more than likely, with three Earth Elementals, they would be able to breeze through to the rest of the floor.

Flinx was right. The three earth elementals could annihilate the dungeon monsters within one to two minutes. It was actually taking the adventurers more time to harvest the dungeon monster, but Flinx didn’t begrudge them for that because he had seen how excited they were in harvesting the monster's parts. Besides, he was also earning a good amount of low-level mana stones.

Soon, they reached the section where the 10th-floor boss monster was located. Flinx remembers that the adventurers just call such monsters the Elite monster of the floor. The boss monster was an incredibly huge rock spider. Based on what the guild book had said, the rock spider would spawn hundreds of small spiders about the size of little dogs. Even though the spider’s minions were tiny, at least compared to the boos spider, the book said that they were incredibly vicious.

Based on the expressions Flinx saw on the faces of the adventurers, there was no way in hell they could fight the boss spider. It brought home the fact to them that they were way too under level for the 10th floor.

The three earth elementals immediately ran towards the rock spider. The spider summoned its minions, but the combined ground stomp of the three earth elementals killed them all off immediately. The adventurers’ jaws dropped when the three earth elementals killed the rock spiders after just around four minutes of them raining vicious fist attacks on the boss spiders.

Once the portal appeared, it meant that the boss spider was dead. The adventurers cheered and ran towards the huge spider to harvest it. Flinx saw a chest appeared beside the portal and he knew, based on the guild book that it was the chest reward for completing the floor. The guild book stated that the chest would contain magic items that the dungeons had gathered from people who were killed inside over millennia of its existence.

Flinx and George went to the chest, and with Flinx’s permission, George opened the chest. It contained two items. A sword and a shield, and from what Flinx could see, they were magic items. The leader of the adventurers offered the two items to him, but he declined, stating that he was not a warrior and that the items were too weak for him.

George nodded his understanding and cheerfully presented the two items to his teammates, who became ecstatic when they learned that they could keep the two magic items.
