Flinx's worries were alleviated when Olivia assured him that the place was relatively safe. That meant that even if all of his focus was concentrated on delving into dungeons, the people living in his tower should be safe.
He knew that he shouldn’t have taken in David and the others. Flinx even remembered his resolute decision to turn his gaze away from any issues that he saw in Ilioven since he had a goal he wanted to achieve, which was to reach the level that would allow him to use the 7th-level spell Plane Shift to teleport back into the wizard enslavers to rescue his fellow Earthlings. He remembered when he first attempted to use the Plane Shift spell to return to the world of the wizard enslavers, he was informed that he would need to reach at least level 15 to be able to have the power to do so.
When he attempted to use the same spell to reach Earth, he was notified by his system that he would need to reach level 20 to have that ability.
Flinx planned to reach level 15 as soon as possible and try to covertly rescue his fellow dungeon miner slaves from Earth from the wizards. He knew that it could mean his demise because he actually didn’t know the level of power that the wizard enslaver had. If he were successful in bringing his fellow Earthlings to this world, then they would all try to reach the level required for them to be able to get back to Earth.
Flinx thought of the fact that he could be selfish and forget about his past as a dungeon miner slave and forget his fellow slaves, and try to live his life in this world as happy as he could, and once he reached a high enough level, he could return to Earth if he wanted, but deep down inside, he simply couldn’t forget. He had experienced the torture that the wizard enslaver had brought upon him, and he couldn’t continue living knowing that his fellow Earthlings were still experiencing the same thing.
A seed had even sprouted in his mind regarding attempting to destroy the wizard enslavers if he was successful in rescuing his fellow Earthlings. As a group, the Earthlings had the gift to attain enough power in this world to attempt to bring destruction on the enslavers once they reached high levels. Still, that decision could wait once his fellow Earthlings were saved.
The main issue regarding taking in David, Arcio, Keero, Violet, and now Olivia and her two brothers was that he simply couldn’t throw them away anymore. The moment David had managed to snag the title of Flinx’s guide, with his mentality, he knew that David and the others were already part of his family.
Flinx knew that kind of mentality was illogical and simply put, stupid, but then again, he liked that he retained that stupid behavior. It soothed him that he didn’t turn into someone he didn’t recognize despite becoming a tortured slave for years. He knew that he was still incredibly broken, but his bleeding heart behavior made him think that he still could be healed.
“David, Arcio, Keero, and Violet, go into the bathroom to bathe, then you can go to your room to sleep if you’re tired, or continue playing there. I still need to talk to Oliva and her brothers,” Flinx told the four children who immediately rushed up to the bathroom floor.
Once the children left, Flinx turned his attention back to the three siblings whom he had just hired.
“I don’t know if the kids told you that the tower is still temporary, meaning if I don’t renew the spell within 24 hours, the tower would disappear. You’re not going to be endangered or anything like that, even if your in the fourth floor. If the tower disappears, you will just appear on the ground floor with all of your belongings. After three weeks, the tower would become permanent.”
“They did tell me something about that,” Olivia said.
“Good. Now, even though the tower has complete facilities, we simply need more things. I want you to list all the things that the kids and you three needs like learning supplies for the kids, their clothes for at least a week. You may notice the clothes they’re wearing are a little unique. I conjured them, but I want them to wear normal clothes, especially Olivia. I would like for you to train her as a lady and not to continue being one of the boys. I would also prefer that you wear good quality clothes, not the ones that you’re wearing now. The things that you will need to purchase need to show that I can afford to keep this tower.”
Flinx saw Olivia nodding, then he continued.
“You will also need to purchase all the things that a functioning household require like cleaning solutions and other peripherals. Last, since Christopher seemed to be the one who is going to handle the kitchen, he will be the one assigned to purchase the things that will make our kitchen have a complete supply that will feed all of us. You can go ahead and go to your room to write the list. Please remember to coordinate with your brother regarding food supplies. I’ll check your list tomorrow and supply you with the funds. In the meantime, you can do whatever you want inside the tower, but please avoid going to the fifth floor since that’s my room. Not that there’s anything there, but I would like to have some privacy. Also, please remember to assist the kids in the bathroom. Teach them bathroom etiquette and all the things that an educated person would need.”
After that, Flinx left them and went to the fifth floor. Thankfully, he made sure that the fifth floor had its own bathroom, so he didn’t have to go to the fourth floor to take a bath or do his business. His room even had a balcony that he could fly from outside directly to his room if he wanted.
Flinx took a long, hot bath to relax. In the meantime, he wondered how many coins Olivia and her brothers would need for their shopping tomorrow. He thought it shouldn’t be much. He still had 1,900 plus gold coins left in his 4th tab space. Flinx was hoping that was enough for Olivia to manage the household for months and open a shop that would bring in coins for the family.
Flinx sighed and finally accepted it. The four orphans, their teacher, and her brothers were now his family and responsibilities. He decided that he would not regret it and would use them to keep himself balanced.
Regarding the shop that he wanted Olivia and her brothers to manage, Flinx wasn’t planning to provide any of the products from his System Shopping Site. The little shop was supposed to be a project for Olivia and her brother to earn coins for their spending, so that Flinx could disappear inside the dungeon without worrying about them having no coins to feed themselves. That meant that the shop was supposed to be sustainable from the products that Olivia and her brothers could get somewhere and sell to people.
Flinx knew that the little shop he wanted the family to have would still need a lot of thinking. He simply didn’t know enough, but at least Olivia, having lived as a well-off minor noble, seemed to have the knowledge that would help them think of what kind of business they would be able to earn coins from. If they truly couldn’t find anything, then Flinx guessed that he wouldn’t have any choice but to utilize his system shopping site. At the very least, he wanted something to sell that they could store in the tower for a very long time so that he would only need to purchase them once in a while.
