Chapter 114 An inch Away From Death
Lucas dodged to the side, just one inch away from being grabbed by its clawed feet. A wave of air passed by his cheeks as the bat landed directly onto his car's rooftop.
He was glad that it was just a rental and not his own Porsche, or else he would faint from anger.
As soon as he got up, he didn't hesitate anymore and lunged toward the bat. When he saw that it took flight again, he increased his speed and jumped onto his car.
The car trembled as he put all of his force into it and jumped, this time reaching more than 5 meters, just enough for him to grab the bat by the leg.
"Skee!"
It screamed at him, but Lucas didn't let go even when the bat kept increasing the altitude.
When he looked over, he could see the piece of garment fluttering in the wind, and a huge devilish smile appeared on his face. Clenching his other fist hard, he made it rain on the creature's most precious thing.
"SCKREREEEEE!!"
His ears were agonizing in pain, but he kept going. By now, the creature's screams were all broken, and it was barely fluttering in the sky.
As Lucas didn't even give it a chance to breathe, the creature's flight suddenly stopped, and now both were heading directly into the ground.
This time it was even higher than last time. When he looked down, he began worrying for his life, then an idea formed in his mind.
Just as both were close to the ground, Lucas suddenly changed position midair and used the creature as a cushion.
"THUMP!!"
A cloud of dust scattered in all directions. It was like a small earthquake had hit the area around them, even shaking the trees close by.
"Cough! Cough!"
Lucas waved the air from his vision and looked at the creature that was now embedded in the ground. "It seems that I win!"
He couldn't help but smile at its sorry state, but he didn't want to waste time, and his claws swept for its throat.
Just as his claws were about to kill it, the creature's entire body turned into a swirling shadow, easily escaping his grasp.
"You can even do that?!" Lucas looked at the empty spot, speechless. Even Lou Carcolh didn't seem as annoying as this creature.
Even though it injured him, at least he could fight it head-on. But this one… was very slippery. He realized that if it wanted to, the creature could easily escape from here, and he couldn't catch it.
"You are looking for fear, aren't you?!" He glanced 10 meters away from him, where the bat materialized in its humanoid form.
"Kill! Kill! Dev..our br..ain!"
Its eye was filled with madness and greed, occasionally glancing directly at Lucas' forehead.
Lucas unconsciously touched his head when he heard this. Although now he knew what attracted the creature to attack him, he was not at all happy.
The bat swung its wings and lunged at him, its tongue licking its fangs as if it was already imagining having the best dinner of its life.
The moment Lucas attacked it with his claws, the creature turned again into a slippery shadow, and instead of running away, it started covering Lucas' head.
Lucas' vision suddenly went dark as the creature enveloped his entire head. His breath was getting heavier and heavier as he desperately tried ripping it away from him.
But he could only feel a slippery sensation between his fingers, with the shadow still clinging to his head.
"BAM!"
Lucas fell on his knees and began striking his head into the ground. As he continued, the air kept getting scarcer and scarcer. The only reason he could last this long was because he wasn't a normal human.
With each strike, his speed was getting slower. Then Lucas' body began convulsing, and his consciousness went dark.
The creature kept covering his head even though he became unconscious. Just as one minute passed and the shadow thought it was over, a terrifying aura awakened from within Lucas.
His pupils shone so brightly that even the dark shadow covering his head couldn't stop the light from coming out.
"ROARHH!"
The forest trembled as the sound covered miles of distance, and the vibrations even broke the slimy shadow covering his mouth.
But what the bat didn't expect was the next thing that Lucas started doing, and that was taking literal bites out of it.
While the shadow trembled in pain and panic, Lucas kept chewing on and swallowing pieces of its body.
Knowing this could not go on, the bat, at the cost of a big chunk of its body, ripped itself away from Lucas and regained its full form.
When the humanoid figure reappeared, it had only one wing. Most of the other one was missing, and a strange green liquid was coming from the wound.
When the creature laid eyes on Lucas, its body quivered in fear.
