Sons of a devil

Chapter 110: legacy of light

Morning in the kingdom dawned golden and calm. The dew on the palace gardens shimmered like diamonds, and the royal banners swayed in the wind like gentle breaths from the heavens. A soft breeze carried the scent of roses, lavender, and something more profound—hope.

Cain stood on the balcony, shirt half-buttoned, the light catching the edge of his dark curls. His gaze swept across the horizon, where the village stirred awake in peace, a rare sight he hadn't known in his youth. Behind him, Selene stepped out with a quiet yawn, wrapped in a soft cloak embroidered with the family sigil.

"You're up early," she said, brushing a kiss on his shoulder.

Cain turned to her, cupping her face in his hands. "I just wanted to remember this. This peace. This moment with you."

Her hand drifted down to her round belly. "And them."

He smiled, then dropped to one knee and kissed her stomach gently. "And them."

In the training grounds, Leo was already dueling with one of the palace guards, laughter echoing between sword clinks. Zara sat under a tree nearby, reading a book and stealing proud glances at him. When Leo caught her watching, he winked and purposely missed a strike, falling into the dirt with exaggerated drama.

"Hopeless," Zara laughed.

"Only for you," he grinned.

Meanwhile, in the royal library, Eren and Eira sat side by side, piecing together old texts and scrolls—maps of old conflicts, treaties, and hidden lands that hadn't been spoken of in years. They weren't just lovers now, but rulers in their own right, learning how to shape the world they would inherit.

Eira leaned over and drew a small heart beside his handwriting. "Your penmanship still looks like a chicken danced across the page."
