Amaranthine

Book 3, Chapter 57- R&R (But Actually, This Time)

“Sorry babe,” Kennedy explained, stroking Cait’s hair as the Amazon held a cool can of Beast to her head, laying in Kennedy’s lap. “I wanted to ask Willow what the fuck happened with you two last night, but Samsara portaled her off, like, the second that meeting was done.”

“S’okay,” Cait groaned. Kennedy could tell she was playing it up for her. The big girl just kind of liked being pampered for once. “Not like it wasn’t fuckin’ worth it.”

“Hah, right?” Kennedy chuckled, “I know Qi and I have our differences, but she is insane in the bedroom.”

“Yeah? Wish I could remember more. Lira said 8 hours, but I was all there for like 15 minutes of that,” Cait responded, and Kennedy wanted to laugh, but she could feel Cait wasn’t really joking.

“Huh. Damn, this really is something you aren’t immune to? Pheromone attacks?” Kennedy asked.

“I mean, it didn’t really feel like an attack,” Cait laughed, “but who the fuck knows. I sure as shit ain’t immune to being horny, so no guarantees either way. If we ever fight a villain that goes by SexStink maybe don’t put me on the front lines.”

“Noted,” Kennedy giggled, moving her hand from Cait’s hairline to her stomach as the big girl sat up a bit to crack and drink from her makeshift ice-pack. “That sounds like a B-Man job. Even if it works, they’ll get a hell of a lot more than they bargained for.”

Cait snorted white Beast out of her nose, then looked confused for a second as to why it didn’t burn. Kennedy actually watched her girlfriend remember she was immune to all things save Dragon Pussy, apparently.

“Good plan,” Cait responded, using her incredible powers of invulnerability to chief the whole can in one swig and crush it against her head. “Not everyone can have the hardened holes of Gwyn. Where’d you and Qi end up, anyway?”

The question was delivered casually, but something in the undercurrent of Cait’s emotions told Kennedy it was very important she answer honestly.

“We… ended up pretty good, honestly. I think a lot of my animosity came from uncertainty, and the talk we had a couple days ago cleared things up. Its weird. I’m drawn to her, but its not the same as it is with you and Lira,” Kennedy answered, truthfully, just hoping the truth was what Cait wanted to hear.

“Exactly!” Cait nearly yelled, balling up the already crushed can in her fist. “Is this what adult relationships are usually like? Not furtive sex with a friend’s wife, or forming some kind of cosmic bond, or getting jumped by a lust elemental in the shower?”

“Why the fuck are you asking me?” Kennedy laughed. Cait froze, big green eyes meeting Kennedy’s own as she realized asking her girlfriend about ‘normal’ relationships would be like asking a fish about the desert. She didn’t know shit.

“Right,” Cait said, laughing the misstep off, but Kennedy could still see the turmoil in the tension of her shoulders, not to mention feeling it in her mind. “I just…. I don’t think you guys realize how new this is to me, too. No, I’m no virgin, but I might as well be when it comes to healthy, supportive relationships. With you, we have…. I don’t know, exactly, the bond, it makes things easy. And Lira….”

“Is Lira,” Kennedy finished, smiling at Cait, and running her fingers over the girl’s only tattoo.

“That, yeah,” Cait agreed, “I just… sometimes I worry Lira and I thought with our dicks and got Qi mixed up in something we shouldn’t have. Her feelings for me aren’t… natural, you know? It seems wrong.”

“But you’re cool with being soulbound to me?” Kennedy asked, quizzically.

“I have to be, don’t I? Don’t get me wrong, I’m literally the happiest I’ve ever been and I would trade the world for you,” Cait said, words falling out of her like they only did when she was getting really anxious, “literally everything about you is my type and I felt like I knew you from my favorite wet dreams before I even met you, but that in and of itself is weird right? I just… I don’t know if I want to be the reason someone else is having these questions.”.

“Okay, tough love, babe, you are,” Kennedy said, allowing just a hint of hardness to creep into her voice, but Cait was getting dangerously close to self-pity territory. She grabbed Cait’s chin, turning the girl around to look at her while wearing the kind of amused smile she knew made Cait melt. “So make the fucking best of it. Like you’re doing with me. Shit, babe, you know the two of you are sexually compatible, and when were out in the field you’re as bro-y with her as you are with B-Man. Just fucking enjoy it.”

Cait slumped against Kennedy, pouting up at her through cheeks still squeezed between Kennedy’s fingers.

“Why does the fucking emo girl get to tell me to stop being a baby?” She asked, words a little slurred due to her mouth being forcefully puckered by Kennedy’s hand.

“Goth, not Emo,” Kennedy corrected, letting go of Cait’s cheeks to crook one black fingernail under Cait’s jaw, drawing her face slowly closer to her own. “We’re basically graveyard stoics.”

Lira kicked the bedroom door back open, exiting with Qi in tow before the ensuing kiss could turn into anything less chaste.

“Girl’s night!” she announced, twirling in a little green dress with an adorable cut, but was thin enough every glance made you wonder if you could see through it. Qi was done up as well, but looked more like a prize fighter out on the town than a secret-slut trad wife. She had a metallic gold bandeau top over her breasts, and wide-cut black slacks over her legs, scale and muscle providing the rest of her look. Whatever effect she’d had on Cait, it didn’t appear to have hit her nearly as hard; the confident grin she met the women’s slack jawed amazement with was not that of a hangover victim.

Kennedy reached over, closing Cait’s mouth with her finger.

“Pick that jaw up, gorgeous,” she said, “looks like we’re already running late.”

Maybe it was good Cait wasn’t feeling 100, since it meant Kennedy was able to get both of them dressed with a minimum of hanky panky, although whoever got Cait out of that dress later would find some black lipstick marking Kennedy’s territory.

She worked under the assumption that ‘Girl’s Night!’ for Lira meant the club, rather than classy wine and tasteful apertifs, so both of them walked out of the bedroom slutted up and expecting the whistles they received from the waiting women.

“Goddamn, Kennedy,” Qi followed up, ruby eyes devouring her. Kennedy had received a lot of those looks in her life. It was nice now, to have people she trusted, to feel secure enough, that she could enjoy them. “If those shorts were any smaller you’d be adding pink to the black and white color scheme.”

“Similar vein, but in the form of a question,” Lira said, eyes doing much the same to Cait, “hoooow the fuck is Cait not hanging out the bottom of that skirt like a Christmas ornament?”

“Panties and creative application of titty tape,” Cait explained, jumping a few times to make sure she actually was secure. Kennedy watched Lira’s eyes bounce in time with the girl’s boobs, which were rarely remarked upon, but even in this polycule, made a strong showing.

“Few more tests maybe?” Lira asked when Cait stilled, but the big girl just laughed, grabbing her up off Qi’s lap on the couch and spinning her to her feet.

“Whatcha got planned, firebrand?” Cait asked, looking down at Lira in a tableau that would be at home on the cover of any romance novel, both of them so obviously smitten it would be cute, if Kennedy didn’t know how nasty they both could be. Still made her smile though.

She shivered as Qi’s claws traced up her spine, exposed in the open back top she wore. Kennedy let out an involuntary purr, leaning back into the towering dragon, once more reveling in having two of the most solid, in a very literal sense, pillars of support in the entire world.

“Does that not hurt at all?” Qi whispered. For a moment, Kenendy thought she meant her claws. Then she realized she meant those looks.

From someone else, it might have seemed gaslighty, or manipulative, but Kennedy was starting to really know Qi. She really was asking. And she was asking because to some degree it hurt her.

I can fix that, Kennedy thought, turning to face Qi. She wanted to reach up and wrap her arms around her neck, but the girl was just too damn tall. She settled for resting her hands on her strong hips, skin warm, scales firm. Kennedy looked up at the dragon, and let it all show on her face. How much she appreciated her strength. Her support. How fucking sexy she thought Qi was. From the fang toothed smile that split her lips, her goal was achieved.

“It doesn’t hurt, baby,” Kennedy said nuzzling her head just below Qi’s breasts, which was about as high as she could reach. “we both get to feel that way too, right?”

Qi’s claws brushed the back of her neck, stroking softly. Kennedy could feel that she still expected Kennedy to be a bitch to her. That was Kennedy’s fault. Qi’d never done anything wrong, just gotten in waaaay over her head with some high level perverts. The fact she was keeping up at all was crazy impressive.

The tight, unbelievably strong hug Qi wrapped her into made Kennedy want to capitalize the girl for the night, but given her conversations with both the women, she thought she and Lira might have to do a little emotional wingmanning for both of them. Well good. Kennedy had always liked a challenge.
