Strongest Maid In Another World

Darkness fell, as the sun has begun to set over the horizon. Loraine, Yura, and the other adventurers kept a close eye on the Dark Daggers from behind, having already discussed their plans and were already working on putting it in motion.

’These bastards are still following us, they’re so damn persistent.’ Loraine thought to herself in annoyance, still sensing the overwhelming overflow of blood lust radiating from the bandit group with her [Maiden’s Intuition] Skill.

"The next town is still pretty far away, we’re going to have to set up camp for now and continue our journey in the morning," The traveling merchant spoke, his eyes darting back to the carriage that was still busy trailing behind them.

He had already been informed about the trouble makers following them from afar, Loraine telling him that they were after the goods in the cart, while also aiming to finish them off and kill them in the process.

’Tsk, damn bandits, it’s a damn pain having to hire adventurers so often just to go from place to place, but I’m glad the problem has already been identified.’ He thought to himself, snapping his ropes as he forced his horses to pull the caravan harder and push on forward.

He had no doubt that Yura could easily dispatch the entire group, but the crimson haired woman already had a plan up her sleeve, one that would cripple their forces and allow them to dispatch the entire group rather easily.

He didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire of the clash that was about to unfold, but he knew better to trust her word, after all, she was a peak A-Rank adventurer, and came from a powerful guild in the Royal Capital, he paid top-dollar for her services, so he knew that he was in safe hands.

The caravan turned to the side as they approached a forest that was nearing them from the side, the moon having risen up completely as night time fell and darkness enshrouded every surface of the ground, making it hard to see for everyone except Loraine, as with [Maiden’s Intuition], every single detail in the night was enhanced to a degree where it would be no different from the perception she had in the day time.

’So this is where the trap will be set up,’ Loraine thought, glancing towards Sarah who was nervous about the whole situation, but knew that she was under heavy protection, Loraine giving her best friend a warm smile and reassuring squeeze on the hand to ease her worries.

"Relax, we’ll be fine, just stick to the plan and everything will turn out soundly, alright?" Loraine asked, her reassurance lifting off a weight from Sarah’s shoulders as the blonde haired maiden’s expression visibly lifted, a relieved breath escaping her lips.

"Alright, just don’t try to be a hero, okay? If you’re getting overwhelmed, or if you gain an injury, fall back and let Yura and the others do their work like they’re supposed to." Sarah said to Loraine, the white haired maiden chuckling as she affectionately patted her best friend on the head, Sarah’s cheeks flushing a light crimson as she felt a tad bit embarrassed by the gesture.

’She’s so cute when she’s worrying about me, though tonight she’ll get to really see what I’m made of.’ Loraine thought, nodding to her best friend’s words.

"Of course, I may be brave, but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid, I’ll be sure to know when to back off if I get overwhelmed," Loraine said, before a confident grin found her way to her lips, "Though, I have a feeling I’m going to be the doing the overwhelming tonight."

Loraine laughed playfully, Sarah only face palming in response as she felt like this whole trap was a dumb idea if Loraine was taking it so easy, starting to doubt Yura’s confidence in Loraine a bit.

’That woman’s definitely raised her ego a lot, I really hope she doesn’t get herself killed.’

"Alright, we’ll camp here for the night," The traveling merchant said, the caravan coming to a halt as he hopped off the driver’s seat and made his way to the back, the other adventurer’s hopping off.

Yura glanced over at Loraine, the white haired maiden meeting her gaze as she spoke. "Be quick, they’re closing in on us fast, we need to put everything in motion before they get an idea of what we’re up to." Yura ordered.

"Right," Loraine responded, watching as the crimson haired woman grabbed her spear and leaped out of the caravan, Loraine following closely behind as she helped Sarah jump off as well, gently guiding the blonde haired woman to the ground, much to her embarrassment.

"We’re going to have to secure the cargo and get everything out of the back," The traveling merchant said, the adventurers nodding as they were about to step in and load the stuff off the caravan, when Loraine stopped them, holding out her hand.

"No need, I’ll handle this." Loraine said, aiming her hand at the back of the caravan as her hand began to be enveloped by a bright glowing light, [Magical Grasp] activating as a telekinetic force began to lift up the valuables in the caravan, the adventurers watching in eye as every item floated out of the caravan, the white haired maiden turning to them with a smile on her face.

The items floated up in the air above her, some of them being heavy crates storing Items and other goods that would normally overwhelm a weak telekinetic skill such as [Magical Grasp], but Loraine was capable of holding the entire stock of Items in the back like it was nothing, her mastery over her abilities amazing the rest of the adventurers.

’Alright, first phase of the plan is complete, all valuables are secured, now we just need to prepare the trap and dispatch of the bandit group.’ Loraine thought to herself, she glanced over at the caravan for a moment.

’I wonder if I could perhaps lift something as heavy as that, and just...throw it far into the distance, it would definitely save a bunch of traveling time, but at the same time it would be hella risky.’

’What the hell am I thinking, that idea is stupid, it could get us all killed, come on Loraine focus!’ She thought to herself, scolding herself inwardly for her impulsive thoughts that bordered on lunatic thinking and shook her head violently, calming herself down before turning her attention back to the rest of the group.

"Alright, shall we go?" Loraine asked with a playful lilt in her tone, the traveling merchant nodding with an impressed expression on his face, seeing that this maid was capable of performing magic.

"Everything’s secured! Move out into the woods and keep your eye out for wandering beasts, we don’t want to get ambushed ahead of schedule!" Yura commanded fiercely, her voice echoing with her authority as everyone began to move into the woods.

Torches burned to life as flames danced on their tips, the adventurers, the merchant, and the two maidens made their way into the forest, their footsteps echoing off the dirt in a rhythmic tap as they walked together.

"Do you guys see anything?" An adventurer spoke up, eyes glancing everywhere in the dark forest.

"It’s so dark, even with the light provided by the torches, I always hated the dark..." Another spoke up.

Yura glanced around the dark forest, even though she was an A-Rank adventurer, her eye sight was still visibly nerfed by the darkness, after all, she was just human, and she didn’t possess any ability that allowed her to see in the dark.

’I guess this is where I step in, right?’ Loraine thought to herself.

"Stay close," Loraine said, holding onto Sarah as she pulled her best friend closer to her side, utilizing [Maiden’s Intuition] to it’s fullest as she scoured the entire area for instances of danger, her crimson eyes scanning every inch of dirt, leaves, branches, and terrain of wild life or magical beasts.

’All clear, there’s nothing here.’ Loraine thought to herself, breathing a sigh of relief as she glanced over her shoulder, the shape of the caravan fading out into the distance. The plan was in motion, and everyone was preparing to deal with the invaders on their tail, Loraine’s determination spiking as she glanced over at her best friend.

’I’m going to make sure this is the last cart these bastards try to rob, they’ve picked the wrong group to mess with tonight.’
