Chapter 78: Tenfold Perception

Loraine’s eyes widened as her body felt like it was in a whole other dimension, all her senses pushed to their absolute limit as they were amplified tenfold by [Mystic Amplification], her breath hitching in her throat.
’I can...see everything....’ Loraine thought to herself, as if on cue as her eyes zoomed in on the Devil Rabbits, perfectly sensing their Mana, their intent, and every strand of hair on their furry bodies, small specks of dirt, filth, and grime flickering off of them with every movement of their muscles.
Something the ordinary human eye wouldn’t be able to perceive due to how small it was, but Loraine could see it perfectly and effortlessly.
She could hear the way her own heart beat roared in her chest, feel the blood circulating through her veins, and her the sounds of crickets, insects, and other insignificant things in the far distance.
As the Devil Rabbits leaped toward her again, using [Horned Strike] to try and impale her, Loraine’s body already moved on it’s own far before they had the chance to utilize the Skill, adjusting to avoid the attack entirely almost effortlessly, her body twisting flexibly like the waters of a calm river.
’Just from their intentions alone, I could tell where their going to attack and where they’re going to aim before they themselves could even act upon it.’ She thought to herself, somewhat amazed as she watched the Rabbits fly past her, her eyes tracking them effortlessly as if they were locked onto them.
Loraine didn’t waste another second as she drove her [Silver Knife] into a Devil Rabbit’s side, delivering a strong slash that made the monster cry out in pain and blood splatter in the air, a small crack appearing on the [Silver Knife] as it’s durability was already wearing thin.
’Tch, garbage, already threatening to break after one attack, you can’t be serious!’ She thought to herself, irritated as she turned her attention on her [Twin Steel Cleavers], throwing her [Silver Knife] at a Devil Rabbit with sharp precision before it had the chance to land on the ground.
Whoosh!
Stab!
Crack!
The [Silver Knife] travelled through the air with remarkable speeds, lodging itself deep into a Devil Rabbit’s side as the monster cried out in agony, before the last of the weapon’s durability gave away and broke upon contact, disintegrating into a billion fragments of blue light.
Loraine didn’t really care about that however, as she immediately seized possession of her [Twin Steel Cleavers] once more, grabbing the blades as she could feel the power radiating off of the Items in her grasp, the weapons feeling far more powerful and deadly with her senses pushed to their limits.
She charged towards the Devil Rabbits once more, bringing her blades of steel down upon them in a series of brutal slashes that tore dealt great damage to them, the Devil Rabbit’s being on their last legs as they were starting to bleed out very badly.
The Devil Rabbits tried to flank Loraine once more, using [Agility] to try and get her off guard, but she was far more prepared this time around, her eyes shifting in between them as she took their positions into mind and acted accordingly, her eyes shining with conviction.
"It’s over!" Loriane declared as she avoided one strike of the Devil Rabbits, cleaving it’s head off with one clean strike, ending the creatures life for good in an instant.
She spun around gracefully before doing the same to the other two, her blades cutting them into bits as she managed to gain a Critical Strike on them, increasing her damage dealt by 30% and obliterating them in an instant, notifications pouring into her mind.

Loraine panted in exhaustion, the effects of her [Maiden’s intuition] fading away for a moment as her body was overcome with great exhaustion, her mind throbbing in pain and every inch of her skin feeling like it was being grazed with needles, the drawback of pushing her body to such a limit finally registering.
"Doing that was a bad idea, pushing my senses like that is hurting my body real bad, and now I’m starting to have a pounding headache." She muttered to herself, clutching the side of her head in agony as the pain continued for a few more seconds, before finally seizing, freeing her from her sensory hell.
"It seems I can only do that for a short time before I start facing backlash, my body isn’t used to something so extreme yet," Loraine said to herself, glancing over at the corpses of the Devil Rabbits.
"Perhaps if I had used [Aura Of Haste] earlier, would it have had a different effect? Or would the repercussions have been even worse?"
The bodies of the Devil Rabbits slowly started to disappear, burning away as they began to disintegrate into shimmering particles of Mana, Loraine’s eyes staring them intensely in anticipation.
Once the bodies were gone from the battlefield, Loraine heaved a sigh full of disappointment as she realized that the monsters didn’t drop anything, not a Core, a Material of some kind, or even an Item, visibly displeased with her luck.
"Well shit, that sucks." She said, scratching her head. "I know the chances are pretty low, but even then I should’ve at least gotten something, I was fighting three of them for goodness sake."
Loraine muttered to herself, her eyes staring off into the distance as she sensed a powerful force of Mana approaching her.
The Horned Crimson Eyed Devil Rabbit made it’s way toward Loraine, crouching low on the ground in an intimidating gesture of power and authority as it’s large beady eyes locked onto Loraine, it’s body trembling and radiating an aura of wrath and vengeance that made Loraine’s skin crawl.
"I guess this little guy is going to count as my first Boss battle," Loraine muttered to herself, getting into a combat stance as she prepared to face off against the leader of the Devil Rabbits, her eyes brimming with determination.
"Bring it on you damn bastard!"
