Chapter 25: Strict Handling on a Spring Night
Since there were no groceries bought, Yan Zhen Guo went to the cafeteria to get food. When he called her to get up, she stubbornly refused to rise.
She wasn’t ready to see Yan Zhen Guo just yet. Besides, her whole body felt soft and weak; she just wanted to rest a while longer.
"Knock knock knock." Suddenly, someone knocked on the door outside.
Gu Fuqiao didn’t want to open the door for Yan Zhen Guo. She pursed her lips and continued to bury herself under the covers.
The person outside, seeing that no one was coming to answer the door, persistently continued to knock.
The knocking was so disturbing that Gu Fuqiao couldn’t continue to linger under the covers. She picked up the clothes Yan Zhen Guo had thrown to the side, put them on, and went straight to open the door.
"Didn’t you bring your key?" Gu Fuqiao wasn’t very happy after opening the door, but the person standing opposite her wasn’t Yan Zhen Guo.
"Sister-in-law." Zhang Hong looked at the annoyed Gu Fuqiao and smiled awkwardly, saying, "I heard that Brother Yan brought back a friend from his hometown. I was afraid you might not have enough to eat for lunch, so I specially brought you two zongzi."
Gu Fuqiao noticed that it was the time of day when people were cooking, and many people were passing by in the hallway.
Judging by the noise Zhang Hong made knocking on the door, two family members who were just finishing their meal opened their doors to watch the commotion.
When they saw that it was Zhang Hong and Gu Fuqiao again, they couldn’t help but lean against the doorframe, bowls in hand, to watch the show.
