Chapter 401 - 308: Thunder Eagle (2)
As a renowned commercial organization on the continent, the influence of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower extended throughout the entire Cultivation Realm. Wherever it received authorization within the territories of the Three Gates and Six Sects, a branch tower would be established.
The Ten Thousand Beasts Tower here in Celestial Killer City was, without a doubt, another branch tower, but its scale was far grander. This was evident from the guards at its entrance, all of whom were cultivators at the Foundation Establishment realm at a minimum.
’Right, I’ll go in and take a look. Maybe there’s something I need inside.’
After a moment’s thought, Yu Changsheng walked into the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower. The instant he stepped through the door, an attendant with a broad smile approached him. The attendant first bowed respectfully to Yu Changsheng and spoke with a humble attitude:
"Welcome, honored guest. How may I be of service?"
As he spoke, he clapped his hands, and a subordinate immediately brought over a cup of Spirit Tea. He offered it to Yu Changsheng with a smile, regardless of whether he intended to make a purchase.
Yu Changsheng nodded to himself, marveling internally that there was good reason for the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower to have become such a renowned merchant guild on the continent. He glanced at the attendant’s attire—a white robe embroidered with ten magnificent beasts. The attendant’s cultivation was also at the Foundation Establishment realm, which gave Yu Changsheng a clear understanding of his position.
"I’ll just look around for a bit. If I need anything, I’ll let you know."
Yu Changsheng said softly after a moment of thought.
"Of course. Please feel free to browse, sir. Just give me a call if you need anything."
Upon hearing this, the smile on the Ten Beasts attendant’s face didn’t falter in the slightest. He simply nodded with a smile and did not continue to follow Yu Changsheng.
"Mm."
The Ten Thousand Beasts Tower sold many things, but its main specialty was Spirit Beasts. The first and second floors mostly sold Tier One Spirit Beasts, which were essentially useless to Yu Changsheng at his current level.
Thus, he didn’t hesitate to head up to the third floor. There, he began to see a few Tier Two Spirit Beasts, though not in large numbers. After revealing his Foundation Establishment cultivation, Yu Changsheng proceeded to the fourth floor without any obstruction.
’Flame Water Fish, Tier Two Third Layer...’
’Blazing Foot Snake, Tier Two Fourth Layer...’
Yu Changsheng’s gaze swept over the Spirit Beasts one by one. Shaking his head inwardly, he thought for a moment and proceeded to the 5th Floor.
The Ten Thousand Beasts Tower had nine floors, and the treasures grew more precious the higher one went. However, the top two floors were not typically open to outsiders.
On the 5th Floor, all the Spirit Beasts were at least Tier Two. There were relatively few live specimens; most were corpses or dismembered parts.
’A Heavenly Gang Inner Pill from a Tier Two Sixth Layer Spirit Beast... three hundred thousand Spirit Stones...’
’Complete corpse of a Tier Two Sixth Layer Spirit Beast, the Three-eyed Child Fish... five hundred thousand Spirit Stones...’
Yu Changsheng’s brow furrowed as he examined the items one by one. On the 5th Floor, the white robes of the attendants changed from having ten beasts to one hundred. Although their cultivation was also at the Foundation Establishment realm, it was clearly far more profound than the ten-beast attendants. They were akin to floor managers within the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower.
Noticing Yu Changsheng, this Hundred Beasts Steward immediately walked over with a pleasant smile and stood respectfully by his side. Whenever he saw Yu Changsheng’s gaze linger on an item, he would offer a brief introduction in a low voice, but said no more than necessary.
His demeanor was impeccable—poised, elegant, humble but not obsequious.
’A Tier Three Spirit Beast, the complete corpse of a Thunder Eagle. Price: one million two hundred thousand Spirit Stones...’
At the far end of the 5th Floor, the perfectly preserved corpse of a Spirit Beast finally caught his eye. Yu Changsheng stopped in his tracks, his gaze fixed and his interest piqued. This was the only item on the entire floor that had reached Tier Three.
The entire Spirit Beast corpse was enveloped in an Array, keeping it perfectly preserved. The Array had shrunk its body while ensuring that its Spirituality did not dissipate.
Its blue-violet feathers were as sharp as blades, with tiny arcs of electricity dancing across them. Its long beak was menacingly sharp, glinting with a cold light. With its streamlined body and vast, spread wings, it still exuded a faint, heart-stopping pressure, even in death.
A Tier Three Spirit Beast was equivalent to a human Golden Core cultivator, and the corpse of such a beast was a treasure trove from head to tail.
"Has the Thunder Eagle caught your interest, sir?"
Seeing Yu Changsheng pause, the Hundred Beasts Steward proactively stepped forward and began his introduction with a smile.
"This Thunder Eagle is a Tier Three Spirit Beast. Although its bloodline talent isn’t considered exceptional among Tier Three beasts, its combat prowess is quite formidable. Furthermore, its temperament is famously unyielding."
"Because of that, when our people were hunting it, we had originally intended to capture it alive. Unfortunately, it chose death over submission. We had no choice but to take its corpse, but its value is still immeasurable."
"Whether you plan to use it for Alchemy or to harvest its materials, I am certain it will not disappoint. If it suits your fancy, sir, I can apply for a discount to lower the price for you."
The Steward said in a low voice, chuckling softly.
"Hmm..."
Yu Changsheng pondered for a moment. He used his Divine Sense to inspect the state of the Thunder Eagle’s corpse and confirmed that it was indeed perfectly preserved and undamaged. He then looked at the Steward, thought for a moment, and slowly nodded.
"It is indeed impressive. However, one million two hundred thousand Spirit Stones is a bit steep. I have a card here. See if this might warrant a better discount."
With that, Yu Changsheng took out a black Spirit Card and handed it to the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower’s Steward. The black card was engraved with the tower-shaped logo unique to the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower, and it shimmered with a Spiritual Light that conveyed nobility and luxury.
This was the very VIP card that Li Minghan had given him. According to Li Minghan, this card allowed him to select any item for free at the Wanxiang Sect’s branch of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower, and it still offered discounts at other branches.
The Steward in the hundred-beast attire was taken aback. He subconsciously took the Spirit Card and looked at it closely. His gaze immediately sharpened, and he looked up at Yu Changsheng, his expression turning solemn. His respectful demeanor deepened as he bowed slightly and said:
"So you are a VIP of our Ten Thousand Beasts Tower. Please wait a moment while I verify your identity. I ask for your patience, esteemed guest."
"Very well," Yu Changsheng nodded.
Before long, the Hundred Beasts Steward returned. This time, however, he was accompanied by another person who also wore the robes of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower, but the number of Spirit Beasts embroidered on his robe had changed from one hundred to one thousand.
A Thousand Beasts Robe. Only high-level figures such as a Supervisor or Vice Tower Master were qualified to wear one. Yet, this man jogged over, a natural smile appearing on his face the moment he saw Yu Changsheng. He deferentially returned the Spirit Card and said humbly:
"I am Chenyang, the Supervisor of the Ten Thousand Beasts Tower in Celestial Killer City. I was unaware of your arrival, honored guest. Please forgive my poor reception. Hehe."
Yu Changsheng was taken aback. He looked at Chenyang, secretly astonished. The man appeared middle-aged, and the cultivation he exuded had already reached the Golden Core realm. For an expert of this caliber to be so deferential to a nobody like himself, it spoke volumes about his impressive mindset and perspective.
Waving his hand dismissively, Yu Changsheng respectfully cupped his fists toward the man and said with a smile, "I’m hardly an honored guest. There’s no need to be so polite, Senior. The Spirit Card was a gift from a friend. I only just remembered it today and thought I’d ask."
"Very well," Chenyang said, glancing at Yu Changsheng with understanding. His smile became even more genuine and gentle. "In that case, Little Friend Changsheng, you’re interested in this Thunder Eagle, correct?"
The Spirit Card naturally contained some of Yu Changsheng’s basic information, so it was normal for Chenyang to know his name.
"Yes," Yu Changsheng nodded, looking at Chenyang expectantly.
Chenyang pondered for a moment, then said frankly, "Little Friend, your VIP card is exclusive to our Wanxiang Sect branch. At other locations, according to regulations, it carries a total credit of one million Spirit Stones."
"However, if you need it, Little Friend Changsheng, this Thunder Eagle is priced at one million two hundred thousand Spirit Stones. How about you take it for an even one million?"
As he spoke, Chenyang gestured to the Steward beside him. The latter understood immediately, took out a special Storage Pouch, and packed up the Thunder Eagle right in front of Yu Changsheng.
