Chapter 111: Knossos
The man made labyrinth aka knossos.
It was the result of the crazy idea of the craftsman who forged the tower of babel and Orario a thousand years ago, after witnessing the greatness of the dungeon.
Obviously, this was something that he couldn't accomplish in one generation alone.
Because of that, the craftsman came up with an idea.
If his generation couldn't finish it, then he would leave it to his future generations, and eventually it would be completed after countless generations.
To ensure his descendants could fulfill that obsessive dream.
The craftsman placed a blood curse in his own bloodline, forcing his descendants to constantly expand the man made labyrinth.
Although it was highly concealed, it went undetected for a thousand years.
Did this mean the guild in Orario was useless or that craftsmen were truly skilled?
"I remember there was an entrance on the far east side of floor 18."
Controlling his eight puppets, Sion traveled down to floor 18 of the dungeon.
After arriving at the eastern part, Sion's sonar detection spell observed the door constructed of orichalcum through the wall.
Orichalcum was one of the highest grade materials in the gekkai, and it could even be considered the hardest metal in existence.
The reason why the man made labyrinth was made of orichalcum was because the dungeon was highly corrosive.
Dead monsters would revive, destroyed labyrinth structures would gradually recover over time, and any traps and markers would be swallowed up.
Therefore, the door was hidden behind the walls of the dungeon.
Even if the walls of the labyrinth were destroyed, they would quickly be restored, constantly concealing the existence of the door.
"Daedalus street also has an entrance, but it's hard to find. This one is much easier to locate."
After breaking through the wall, they arrived at the main gate made of orichalcum where his eight puppets placed their hands on the giant metal surface.
"Absorb."
His spell was activated, breaking down the material and transforming it into pure mind.
There was no need for a key. Sion packed up the entire gate and took it with him.
"Next comes the entertainment."
Using their mind sensing to probe the entrance, the eight puppets dispersed into the labyrinth.
Raiden.
Lumine.
Noelle.
Shana.
Esdeath.
Mavis.
Satella.
Aqua.
All of the puppets wielded physical strength corresponding to level 7 and high mind quality.
It was easy to deal with the rats that were currently being suppressed by the two major familias.
"Ikelos familia."
"Alecto familia."
"Thanatos familia."
"Rudra familia,"
"Goodness, there are quite a few evilus familias hiding under Orario."
Watching the evilus members disappear one by one, Sion felt a headache coming on.
It wasn't the raw brutality of eliminating these evilus that was the problem but rather how to deal with their patron deities.
There were a total of seven evilus gods who used various methods to bewitch humans, leading them to their deaths and serving as cannon fodder.
Sion really didn't want to let them off the hook but he didn't have a good way to deal with them.
"I need to get my hands on a divine weapon as soon as possible," Sion murmured.
Only a divine weapon that hurt gods could truly kill them, forcing the evilus god into a ten thousand year resurrection period in the tenkai.
A normal fatal wound would only forcibly break their seal, unlocking their arcanum and sending the god straight back to the tenkai.
Therefore, Sion was currently helpless against these evilus gods.
Thus, he could only resort to a rather unconventional method.
Sion pondered.
He then controlled Satella, using her power to swallow the evilus gods into her shadow garden.
She then vanished into the shadows and quickly ventured deep into the dungeon.
"The puppet that transforms into her element the fastest is probably Satella and her shadow."
Sion smiled and said, "After all, there is no natural light in the deep dungeon, which in itself means that this is Satella's perfect domain."
Satella was the only puppet with spatial abilities.
In addition, with the elemental advantage of shadows, the evilus gods who thought they would be taken to the guild for a trial found themselves in the deepest part of the dungeon in a matter of moments.
This was an area that even the Zeus familia and Hera familia couldn't reach, and it was close to the bottom of the dungeon.
Floor 50.
By relying on elementalization, and because being an inanimate object wouldn't attract the active hostility of the dungeon, she easily made it all the way down to this floor.
The dungeon was inherently capable of giving rise to monsters like Antares who were specifically designed to counter a god and their arcanum.
Down at the core of the dungeon, it was impossible for it not to sense the arrival of multiple gods.
"Goodbye."
As soon as she finished speaking, Satella transformed into her shadow form and left the area.
Sion had no intention of watching the gruesome spectacle.
