The vacuum inside the multi-dimensional barrier crackled with a dry, suffocating heat. The initial exchange had left the landscape completely unrecognizable. Where a vast expanse of cracked clay had once stood, there was now only a perfect, smooth-walled crater spanning miles, plunging deep into the planetary bedrock.
Suspended in the air above the abyss, Guy Crimson allowed his dark red aura to pulse outward in rhythmic waves, ripples of heat distorting the empty space around him. He rested the flat of Tenma against his shoulder, a look of profound, bloodthirsty satisfaction painted across his handsome features.
"You've got a hell of a physical baseline, Loki," Guy purred, his crimson eyes locking onto the violet-clad Demon Lord. "Parrying a divine blade with bare skin and reinforced energy is a neat trick. But if you keep trying to play the elegant brawler, you're going to run out of limbs. Aren't you going to draw a weapon?"
Loki hovered comfortably, his custom midnight-black and gold duster rippling lazily in the unnatural vacuum. A soft, amused chuckle escaped his lips as he ran a hand through his maroon hair.
"I was wondering when you'd get tired of testing the waters, Guy," Loki smirked, his eyes flashing with a sharp, dangerous light. "I didn't want to overwhelm you too early. A good performance needs a proper escalation, after all. But since you're asking so politely..."
Loki reached his right hand out to the side. The space next to his palm did not merely ripple. It tore open with a crystalline, high-pitched chime that echoed through the sealed pocket dimension.
From the spatial rift, a hilt materialized. The crossguard was forged from a flawless, radiant gold, set with a singular, deep blue jewel that seemed to hum with an ancient, absolute sanctity. As Loki slowly drew the weapon out, a blinding, pristine white light flooded the crater, completely cutting through the dark red fog of Guy's passive aura.
It was Excalibur. The sword of promised victory, a weapon forged from the very conceptual essence of holy and starlight power, perfectly attuned to Loki's immense magicule capacity.
The moment the blade cleared the rift, the intense holy energy clashing against the dense demonic atmosphere created a violent, crackling field of white-hot static.
"Oh?" Guy's eyes widened, a predatory grin splitting his face even wider. "A holy sword? A Primordial demon wielding a weapon of absolute sanctity... Kakahahaha! You really are a walking contradiction, aren't you, little brother?"
"I like to keep people guessing," Loki countered smoothly.
He shifted his stance, his custom combat gear humming as the magical circuits along the inner lining synchronized with the holy radiance of the blade. The contrast was breathtaking. A sovereign of darkness cloaked in abyssal maroon, wielding the ultimate light of genesis.
"Don't blink, Guy."
Loki vanished.
The speed of their previous clash was entirely eclipsed. Loki reappeared directly in front of Guy, Excalibur tracing a blinding line of pure, condensed starlight through the vacuum. The strike wasn't just fast; it carried a conceptual weight that bypassed traditional physical durability, aiming directly at the spiritual core.
Guy's instincts, honed over millions of years at the absolute apex of existence, screamed at him to move. Rather than deflecting it casually, Guy brought Tenma up with a two-handed grip, channeling a massive surge of his crimson magicules to meet the blow.
BOOM!
The collision generated a blinding, spherical flash of red and white light that violently expanded, slamming into the walls of the multi-dimensional barrier. The hexagonal energy grid groaned under the strain, flickering wildly as the two opposing conceptual forces tore at one another.
"Retribution!" Guy roared, parrying the blade downward and instantly launching a counter-offensive. Tenma became a blurring vortex of dark red energy, each strike carrying the destructive weight of an erupting volcano.
Loki didn't falter. He spun Excalibur with terrifying precision, the holy sword deflecting the demonic blade again and again in a rapid-fire symphony of clashing steel. Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Sparks of absolute light and abyssal fire rained down into the crater below.
But Loki wasn't content with just a swordplay duel.
During a split-second deadlock where Excalibur and Tenma were locked hilt-to-hilt, their eyes meeting in a fierce, unyielding glare, Loki's smirk widened.
"Who said I only brought one toy?" Loki whispered.
Without breaking the sword lock, Loki opened a secondary spatial gate directly above Guy's head. From the golden ripple, a massive, ornate spear emerged. The legendary Gáe Bolg, its barbed tip dripping with a cursed, crimson aura that inverted the laws of cause and effect. The spear shot downward like a falling meteor, aimed straight for Guy's shoulder.
Guy's pupils dilated. Reacting with impossible agility, he released his left hand from Tenma, channeling a burst of spatial disruption to deflect the spear's trajectory by a hair's breadth. The cursed weapon grazed his obsidian armor, leaving a burning, smoking trail of localized decay before embedding itself into the empty air behind him.
Taking advantage of the momentary distraction, Loki disengaged from the sword lock, pivoting fluidly in mid-air. He swung his left hand forward, and a massive, heavy iron mace. The Crushing Mountain materialized instantly in his grip, coated in a thick layer of dense Demon Lord Haki.
WHAM!
The heavy mace slammed directly into Guy's crossed forearms. The sheer, blunt kinetic force sent the Crimson Lord hurtling backward through the air, his boots cutting two deep, smoking trenches through the empty space before he stabilized his flight a few hundred yards away.
Outside the barrier, the spectators were finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their composure. The spatial observation screens were lagging, struggling to process the rapid materialization and conceptual switching of high-grade legendary weapons.
Deep within the Golden Palace, Leon Cromwell stood entirely rigid. His sharp eyes were locked onto the screen, tracking the faint, lingering trail of holy light left by Excalibur.
"He is swapping weapons through instantaneous spatial storage without a single microsecond of lag in his magicule flow," Leon analyzed aloud, his voice tense. "To wield a holy sword of that caliber alongside cursed demonic armaments requires a dual-nature spiritual core that should logically tear a demon apart. Loki is treating the laws of magical compatibility like a suggestion."
In Eurazania, Milim Nava was bouncing on her seat so hard the stone foundation was cracking. "Wow! Look at that! He's got a spear, and a big hammer, and a shiny gold sword! Hey, Frey, where did he get all those cool things?! I want a hammer like that!"
Frey just sighed, leaning her head against her hand, entirely numb to the world-ending display. "Milim-sama... please just promise me you won't ask him to show you his collection in person. I don't think our architecture could survive the demonstration."
At the edge of the Barren Lands, the executive court of Coleus watched with unyielding intensity.
"Hmph, as expected of Loki-sama," Carrera boasted, a vicious grin on her face. "He's making the great Guy Crimson scramble just to keep up with his inventory! He hasn't even brought out the truly devastating stuff yet."
"The seamless integration of spatial retrieval into close-quarters combat is flawless," Testarossa noted elegantly, her eyes shining with quiet adoration. "Guy Crimson believes he is fighting a swordsman, but he is actually fighting an entire armory contained within a single genius mind."
Noir, standing closely beside them, let out a deep, shivering laugh. "Kufufufu... spectacular. Truly spectacular! My brother has mastered the art of spatial armaments. He isn't just switching weapons to be flashy; he is constantly shifting the elemental and conceptual properties of his attacks to prevent Rouge's analytical skills from adapting. It is a perfect, chaotic sequence of unpredictability."
Back inside the pocket dimension, Guy hovered in the sky, looking down at his forearms where the iron mace had struck. The black obsidian armor was slightly cracked, a faint wisp of purple static rising from the fracture.
He slowly lowered his arms, his crimson hair falling over his eyes before he looked up, a terrifyingly serene expression on his face. The playful, boisterous laughter from earlier had completely vanished, replaced by the cold, absolute focus of the world's most ancient predator.
"An armory hidden in the gaps of space, huh?" Guy said softly, his voice carrying a resonant vibration that made the entire barrier hum. "And a holy sword that actually stings. You've really grown up, Loki."
Guy raised Tenma, the blade glowing with an intense, pitch-black fire that seemed to swallow the light around it. The passive magicule output he was releasing began to skyrocket, bypassing the millions and entering a realm of density that caused the very oxygen inside the barrier to ignite into a dark, silent plasma.
"You wanted an escalation, right?" Guy smiled, his eyes burning like twin stars. "Let's stop playing around with basic tools. Show me the absolute limit of what that starlight can do, little brother."
Loki held Excalibur loosely at his side, the golden hilt reflecting the glow of his eyes. The casual, arrogant smirk remained on his face, but his stance shifted slightly, his weight perfectly balanced as he prepared for the true storm.
"I was waiting for you to say that, Guy," Loki replied softly.
The space around them began to distort into a localized gravity well as both Demon Lords drew in their breath, preparing to unleash the true, cataclysmic force of their engagement. The vanguard was over; the real battle had finally arrived.
