A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 404: Mr. Grant’s Mrs. Grant (8)

And whenever this happened, it was Seraphina Sterling who drew the most envy. To be fair, the professors would always have Seraphina stand up to answer a question. And, without fail, she would stun everyone every single time. You could count every single professor—not one of them had ever managed to stump her.

Her classmates couldn’t help but lament, "You already know everything, so why are you even in college? It’s a waste of time, and you’re just demoralizing the rest of us!"

Whenever faced with such a question, Seraphina Sterling would just roll her eyes at them. "You don’t even know that? It’s to get a degree from Aethelgard University, of course! It’ll make it easier to find a job in the future!"

Genevieve Churchill overheard her once and shot her a massive eye-roll. ’So pretentious, so fake,’ she thought. ’As if *she* needs to find a job. When the time comes, everyone will probably be working for *her* company!’ Genevieve had accidentally discovered that Keystone Technologies was Seraphina Sterling’s, with Nadia Chapman just managing it. Of course, this matter was a secret among the three of them.

They finally made it to the first day off since classes had officially begun.

"Which club are you going to join? Have you decided yet?" Genevieve Churchill’s mind went numb as she looked at the mountain of flyers for all the different clubs, unsure which one to choose.

"Haven’t thought about it. Aren’t all these clubs more or less the same?" Seraphina Sterling was busy reading the latest progress report on Keystone Technologies’ R&D. The development was in the final testing phase. Everything seemed normal for now, but problems were more likely to crop up in the later stages. With the new product launch drawing nearer, this period was the most critical.

Fortunately, Nadia Chapman was growing more and more adept, capable of handling most problems on her own. Apex Wealth Management was also being managed well; at least so far, no cracks had shown. The two of them, one in the light and one in the shadows, worked together in perfect harmony. Plus, since Nadia was also a student at the School of Economics and Management—albeit a fourth-year—it was much more convenient for them to discuss issues, being in the same school. And it wouldn’t arouse anyone’s suspicion.

Because of these two companies, Nadia Chapman had become one of the most sought-after figures on campus. Not only was she constantly being hit on, but many professors were deferential to her, and the underclassmen absolutely idolized her. In short, Nadia Chapman was already a legend at Aethelgard University. Starting two companies before even graduating—that wasn’t something just anyone could do.

"Choosing a club is a huge deal! We have to think it over carefully, weigh all the options! This concerns our extracurricular life for all four years of college! You think hard about it, and wherever you go, I’ll go! Big sis is following you this time!" Genevieve Churchill had a classic case of choice paralysis. When faced with this kind of problem, she usually left the decision to someone else.

Seraphina Sterling finished the last page of the report. "You want to follow me? You’d better think this through. I’m in the School of Economics and Management, so if I choose a club, it’ll be one from my school. You’re at The Conservatory; you should join the university’s Performing Arts Troupe! That would be more beneficial for your future."

Genevieve Churchill frowned. "Big sis has no interest in joining some Performing Arts Troupe! I’m sticking with you! So, tell me, which club are you joining?"

"The finance majors’ Stock Trading Club. What? You still want to come?" Seraphina Sterling waved the letter of recommendation in her hand. This was Genevieve Churchill’s most hated subject. She had always been slow with numbers, and by extension, she loathed anything related to them—stock trading being a prime example. In her eyes, the numbers were just a pile of cabbages she wished she could devour, one by one.

"Seraphina, you’re doing this on purpose!" Genevieve Churchill’s eyebrows were practically knitted together. "I guess I’d better go join my Performing Arts Troupe after all! But Seraphina, are you really going to join this Stock Trading Club? I heard it was founded just a year or two ago by a bunch of rich kids, and they always invest huge sums of money! If you join, aren’t you afraid of blowing your cover?"

"I won’t. At most, I’ll just participate in some club activities. I’m just really curious about it. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard of a club for stock trading. I just want to go and see what it’s like," Seraphina Sterling said with a faint smile.

"But that club has a ridiculous rule: you can’t join unless you have a certain amount of assets! You’re supposed to be someone who tested in from a small town. If you suddenly pull out that kind of money, won’t they get suspicious?" Genevieve Churchill was still worried.

"There are always exceptions," Seraphina Sterling said, pulling out a sheet of A4 paper. "I already had Nadia Chapman write me a letter of recommendation. Even if I don’t have the required assets, the club president will have to let me in."

"I can’t believe I forgot! Our very own Nadia is a campus celebrity now, and she runs a wealth management firm. Her letter of recommendation is better than any proof of assets! With this letter, you won’t even need an interview; you can get in directly! I bet everyone’s going to be full of envy, jealousy, and hate toward you again!" Genevieve Churchill couldn’t help but sigh. "What kind of world is this? It’s true what they say: comparison is the thief of joy! I’m off to my audition! It’s just the Performing Arts Troupe, right? I’ll definitely get in!"

Seraphina Sterling smiled. "Good luck! Once you get in, we’ll go celebrate. I’m off to turn in my form! And the letter of recommendation!"

The four girls in their dorm room were destined to be rivals. Seraphina Sterling and Shelby Fenton, both from the School of Economics and Management, had coincidentally both chosen the Stock Trading Club. Genevieve Churchill and Yvonne Hollis, both from The Conservatory, had both chosen the Performing Arts Troupe. After the Student Council, these were the two most popular and competitive clubs on campus. The Performing Arts Troupe offered fame and a chance to perform, while the Stock Trading Club offered a chance to make money. With the four of them choosing these clubs, a new battle was brewing.

When Seraphina Sterling arrived at the registration table, she ran right into Shelby Fenton. Enemies, it seemed, were always destined to cross paths.
