Chapter 402: Mr. Grant’s Mrs. Grant (6)
Terrence Grant frowned. "You need to eat slowly and chew your food properly, or you’ll get a stomachache! You often skip breakfast, and then you turn around and eat this fast. It’s really bad for your stomach!"
"I’m almost late... How could I possibly... have time to eat slowly!" Seraphina Sterling quickly finished a bowl of rice porridge. Terrence Grant had already peeled a hard-boiled egg for her. She polished off the egg in three bites, then downed half a glass of soy milk!
"I’m done, I have to go!" Seraphina Sterling had finished her meal in five minutes flat.
Terrence Grant said nothing, simply heading out the door with her.
The elevator was crowded, pressing Terrence Grant and Seraphina Sterling into a corner. Terrence Grant shielded her, positioning her in the space between his arms and the elevator wall to keep others from bumping into her.
They were so close, close enough to see each other’s eyelashes, close enough to see every pore on their skin. ’I never realized Terrence Grant’s skin was so good! It’s not pale, but it’s incredibly smooth! What’s a grown man doing with such perfect skin?!’
Terrence Grant watched her dark eyes darting about; he didn’t need to guess to know her mind was racing. Her long eyelashes, fluttering like a pair of delicate fans, were as lively as a sprite’s, stirring up an irresistible urge to tease her. His lips swept swiftly across the corner of her mouth, stealing a sweet kiss.
His prize was a glare from the woman in his arms, followed by a hard stomp on his foot. She hissed, voice low, "You are not allowed to just kiss me whenever you want!"
Terrence Grant put on an innocent face. "I didn’t want to kiss you, but there was a grain of rice at the corner of your mouth. You must have left it there from eating in such a hurry. I was just trying to help you get it off!"
Seraphina Sterling eyed him suspiciously. She had been rushing, it was true, but surely not so much that she’d leave rice on her face? "Yeah, right! And even if I did have rice on my mouth, couldn’t you have just told me? I could have wiped it off myself! Or you could have used your hand to get it!"
Terrence Grant’s lips curled into a smile. "I just prefer the most efficient solution."
’What’s he smiling about?! He’s already ridiculously handsome, and he’s just smiling like that for no reason!’ Seraphina Sterling could already picture her tragic future: being hounded to death by his legions of admirers. "Mr. Grant, please don’t smile like that in public from now on."
Terrence Grant raised a handsome eyebrow, confused. "Hm?"
"You attract too much drama from other women. I don’t want to get caught up in it!" Seraphina Sterling ground her teeth. ’This man is a walking disaster!’
Terrence Grant immediately wiped the smile off his face, though a hint of laughter remained in his voice. "As you command, Mrs. Grant." ’Although,’ he thought, ’your admirers are far more numerous than mine. And each and every one of them is already champing at the bit, eager for a chance. It’s forcing me to resort to unconventional methods to solve this thorny problem!’
Once they were out of the elevator, Terrence Grant grabbed Seraphina Sterling’s hand and broke into a run, heading out of the apartment complex.
"Class starts in less than ten minutes! Didn’t you promise I wouldn’t be late?" Seraphina Sterling protested, completely dissatisfied. ’There’s no way we’ll make it to the university now, even if we drove like maniacs. Besides, it’s morning rush hour! The traffic will be awful!’
Terrence Grant led her across the street and stopped at a perimeter wall. "Mrs. Grant, you should learn to trust your Mr. Grant."
Seraphina Sterling still had no idea what he meant.
"Hopping this wall shouldn’t be a problem for you, right? Once you’re inside, the second academic building is where your first class is!" Terrence Grant was clearly satisfied by her stunned expression. "Even though it was dark last night, don’t tell me you didn’t notice that my apartment complex is right next to Aethelgard University’s south gate?"
