After Seraphina Sterling’s repeated assurances, Wyatt Gallagher finally led her into the club!
Seraphina Sterling had never attended a gathering like this before; this was her first time! One look was all it took to know this was a playground for the wealthy elite. Every facility was absolutely top-tier! The place had everything, even its own racecourse and golf course!
Seraphina Sterling suppressed her amazement, let out a soft breath, and followed behind Wyatt Gallagher.
"Wyatt, you’re late today!"
"Where have you been holed up lately? How come you haven’t come up for air?"
"Do you even need to ask? He’s either holed up in the research lab or the operating room!"
"I’ve had a few important surgeries lately," Wyatt Gallagher said with a slight smile, offering it as his explanation.
"I figured as much. Shannon’s been waiting for you forever, and you’ve finally appeared!" Ethan Thompson, dressed in casual wear, walked over. He suddenly noticed Seraphina Sterling standing behind Wyatt Gallagher, and his expression grew awkward for a moment.
"Wyatt Gallagher, aren’t you going to introduce us?" Ethan Thompson asked, his gaze falling on Seraphina Sterling, who wore a faint smile. ’This girl is a new face. I’ve never seen her before; she’s probably not part of our circle. To think Wyatt brought her here... they seem close. And by the looks of it, it’s something serious.’
"Seraphina, this is Ethan Thompson! Ethan, this is my girlfriend, Seraphina Sterling!" Wyatt Gallagher deliberately emphasized the word "girlfriend," as if saying it for someone specific to hear.
"Hello, Chief Thompson." Seraphina Sterling confidently extended her hand. ’So this is Ethan Thompson. I’ve heard of him. A military man, and a high-ranking one. A real man of iron, by all accounts. He should be working a desk job at some agency now, only called out for major incidents. I never imagined someone like him would show up at a party like this!’
"Hello, Miss Sterling!" Ethan Thompson replied, naturally taking her small hand in a polite grip. ’So this is Seraphina Sterling. He’d only heard her name recently. The eldest daughter of the Sterling Family, Orson Sterling’s daughter! She has deep ties with Martin Quinn. At Fiona Chapman’s birthday party, Wyatt Gallagher personally vouched for her and then whisked her away. It looks like they really are an item!’
"Wyatt Gallagher, that’s a pretty low move. Our Shannon has been chasing you for so many years, and you just decide to get a girlfriend all of a sudden?" Jay Gable strode over. ’As her older brother, I have to stand up for my sister!’
"That’s a strange thing to say. Why shouldn’t Wyatt Gallagher have a girlfriend? As long as he’s a man and he’s not married, he can have one!" Seraphina Sterling spoke up before Wyatt Gallagher could even say a word.
’She remembered this guy. He was utterly obsessed with his sister. He’d do anything for Shannon Gable, with no sense of right or wrong. Wyatt sure knows how to attract trouble; the Gable Family is a huge pain.’
"Oho! Looks like we have a little spitfire here, and a feisty one at that! Let me tell you, Wyatt Gallagher is the man my sister has her eyes on! If you know what’s good for you, you’ll go cool your heels somewhere else! Don’t make me get physical!" Jay Gable’s expression was vicious, the threat perfectly clear.
Seraphina Sterling showed not a shred of fear. A faint smile played on her lips. "If you had said *you* were the one who wanted Wyatt Gallagher, I might have done you the courtesy of considering handing him over. But if it’s your sister who wants him, then forget about it. This is a war between women! You men should stay out of it!"
Jay Gable’s sinister expression froze on his face. ’Wyatt Gallagher was *his* man? Was she implying he was gay?’ Rage flared inside Jay Gable. He never thought this girl would be so clever, shutting him down completely with a single sentence! If he interfered in this matter any further, it would mean he had other intentions toward Wyatt Gallagher, which would be the same as admitting he was gay!
