A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 309: Screwed Over Justin Hale (5)

Seraphina Sterling frowned. She really didn’t want to greet this greasy-faced, acne-covered man who reeked of overblown hormones. But, for better or worse, Owen Sterling was her elder, and she couldn’t very well defy him in front of a guest.

"Hello, President Fenton. I’m Seraphina Sterling. I have something to attend to, so I won’t disturb you and Second Uncle." With that, Seraphina left the living room. She really disliked the look on President Fenton’s face.

’If I’m not mistaken, that’s Leo Fenton, the only son of the Fenton family, who just recently started working at Fenton Bank. The man has a twisted perversion—he’s utterly lecherous, with a penchant for sixteen and seventeen-year-old girls. His methods are cruel, too. Who knows how many girls he’s already ruined. If the Fenton Family weren’t so rich and powerful, Leo Fenton would have died a thousand times over by now!’

’Looks like Second Uncle is truly desperate this time, to actually set his sights on the Fenton Family! He intentionally called me over and even made me greet Leo Fenton! Could it be that Second Uncle is getting some ideas he shouldn’t be?’

A glint flashed in Seraphina Sterling’s eyes. ’I only want to get my revenge on Justin Hale and Faye Sterling. If Second Uncle really can’t see things clearly and gets any improper ideas, then he shouldn’t blame me for what happens next! I have enough enemies as it is; I don’t mind adding a few more!’

Seraphina Sterling had originally thought Wyatt Gallagher was just bored. When he heard she was going to buy some daily necessities, he tagged along. Who knew that after their shopping spree was over, he would actually bring her to a recreational club!

Seraphina Sterling stared at the grand, upscale building, her brows knitting together. "Wyatt Gallagher, I never knew you were such a fox—and a cunning old one at that."

Seeing the way she was grinding her teeth, Wyatt Gallagher subconsciously rubbed his nose. "I’m begging you, just help me out. Otherwise, I’m dead meat! I might go in walking and get carried out!"

"Even if you want my help, you have to at least tell me what’s going on, right?" Seraphina sighed helplessly. She really couldn’t imagine what could make someone as gentle as Wyatt Gallagher this worried.

"It’s actually pretty simple. There’s a girl in there who’s always pestering me. I need you to be my girlfriend for the afternoon. As long as you can make her give up for good, your mission will be accomplished!"

Wyatt Gallagher had thought it over and over. He could only ask Seraphina Sterling for help with this. Everyone in their circle knew everyone else, and they had all done their research. An obvious lie would be seen through instantly. Only Seraphina was a newcomer; they wouldn’t have had time to investigate her yet. Even if it was a lie, it would be a little more believable with her.

"An obsessive pursuer?" Seraphina immediately sensed a juicy bit of gossip but quickly reined it in. "If you knew it would be trouble, why come at all? You could have just not shown up, right? Why did you have to come?"

"You think I wanted to come? The old man forced me! Our family’s patriarch laid down the law: if I don’t even attend the social gatherings in our circle, then I have to quit my job at the hospital and go back to the Gallagher Family to inherit the company! For the sake of my freedom, I’d have to come here even if it were full of ravenous beasts!" Wyatt was also incredibly frustrated. He really had no interest in the business world whatsoever. But sometimes, for the sake of freedom, you had to compromise.

"You poor thing! Seeing as you’ve helped me before, I’ll step in and help you this time. Consider the favor repaid!" Seraphina felt this was an excellent opportunity to repay a debt. The last thing she ever wanted was to be indebted to someone. She would much rather owe money than owe a favor.

"Then you absolutely have to hold your ground! This girl is no ordinary person! She’s got some serious firepower! You have to keep your cool! Don’t you dare back out on me!" Wyatt warned her again and again, still worried. This was his last resort. It had to work on the first try.
