Chapter 267: Mighty and Domineering Seraphina (3)
"I’m not worried at all! It’s just a small problem. Something about a little software glitch, I think. For my brother, that’s no big deal! Besides, even if I was worried, there’s nothing I could do. The business world is too complicated!" Zion Hale shrugged. "I prefer things that are more adventurous and exciting!"
"But you’re a Hale. You’re supposed to join the company someday! How could your parents possibly let you go off on adventures?" Seraphina Sterling actually hoped Zion would join Hale Corporation. ’That way, I can help him drive Justin Hale out, make him the president, and let him inherit Hale Corporation!’
Of course, Seraphina Sterling wasn’t thinking this way for her own sake. She just wanted Zion Hale to be the master of his own destiny! To have the power to protect himself! So he wouldn’t be utterly defenseless when Justin Hale decided to plot against him!
"They’ll agree! The Hale Family has my brother, and that’s enough!" Zion Hale said with a carefree laugh.
"Weren’t we going to a party? Why are we on the way to my house?" Seraphina Sterling didn’t press the issue. ’I can do my best to protect him, but I can’t decide his future for him!’
"That was just an excuse to rescue you from the banquet! Look at the time! Even if we were really going to hang out, we wouldn’t pick tonight. You just got back to the Sterling Family, so you can’t be leaving a bad impression on the elders. Try not to come home late! Besides, you’re a girl. Even if you don’t care what the elders think, you can’t be out partying so late at night. It’s not safe!"
Wyatt Gallagher was so thoughtful, considering even these minor details for her. ’Given Faye Sterling’s attitude toward me, it’s easy to imagine my situation in the Sterling Family. But not everyone would be so considerate!’
"You don’t have to worry so much. Faye Sterling is just playing childish games. If she wants to plot against me, she’s still a long way off! Besides, at the Sterling estate, Grandfather will protect me! I’ll be fine."
Seraphina Sterling was very happy. ’They’ve thought of so much for my sake! Only people who truly care about you would consider every little thing.’
After Seraphina Sterling left the Chapman residence, she drove straight home. Owen Sterling and Jasmine Faulkner had also just returned from the banquet. Faye Sterling immediately gave them an embellished and exaggerated account of the evening’s events. Of course, she conveniently omitted anything that made her look bad.
"Dad, Mom, just look at her! Is this how a high-society lady is supposed to act? Leaving a banquet with two men? She said they were ’just going to hang out,’ but if you ask me, the three of them definitely went to get a room! You should have seen it! One of them just threw his arm over Seraphina Sterling’s shoulder, and the other one kissed her on the ear right in front of everyone! I was so embarrassed just watching from the sidelines!"
"Tell me, how can the eldest daughter of our Sterling Family be so cheap? How can her behavior be so indecent, flirting with two men at the same time! And then she just left with them, in front of everyone! What do you think all those prominent people in the hall will think of our Sterling Family now?"
Jasmine Faulkner already disliked Seraphina Sterling, and after hearing this, her aversion grew even stronger. "That Seraphina Sterling! She just got back and is already embarrassing the Sterling Family! I knew we never should have let her and her mother come back! I have no idea what that Kimberly Jennings taught her, to do something so shameless! The Sterling Family has been completely disgraced!"
Owen Sterling’s expression was also dark. "It’s useless to talk about this now. Since Seraphina Sterling has so little self-respect, so little regard for the bigger picture, and so little concern for the Sterling Family, then let her stay here for a while. Once she has her birthday and turns eighteen, we’ll find a family for her and marry her off. At least then she’ll be making a contribution to the Sterling Family!"
