Chapter 463: Holding On and Not Letting Go (Part 3)
Leo Warren glanced at Seraphina Sterling. ‘I’ve seen plenty of greedy people, but I’ve never seen anyone dare to be so audacious in front of the Young Master! The last person who tried to rip him off is already six feet under! It’s been over a decade. To think I’d meet someone with a death wish today!’
“The fee is not a problem, but President Chapman must stay! If she doesn’t like staying at Westbound, I can take her directly to the hospital!” Martin Quinn’s tone was nonchalant, but his stance was unyieldingly firm.
Standing to the side, Leo Warren nearly lost his footing and slipped. ‘The Young Master actually agreed? He’s letting himself get fleeced! What in the world is going on today? Since when are his principles negotiable?’ Leo Warren was utterly bewildered.
“I don’t need to go to the hospital. I’ll be fine tomorrow after some sleep!” Nadia Chapman finally spoke. “I want to go home with Seraphina.”
“How are you going to get back now? Are you expecting Seraphina Sterling to carry you home? You’re so heavy, she wouldn’t be able to lift you!” Martin Quinn once again took a jab at Nadia Chapman’s weight.
There are two things you can never question about a woman: her chest and her weight. This was the second time Martin Quinn had called Nadia Chapman fat. Even with her good temper, she was furious now. Grinding her teeth, she put on a fierce expression. “If I’m so heavy, then why don’t you put me down! It would be my fault if I ended up breaking your arms!”
Martin Quinn just smiled faintly. It was a smile that made the hearts of the many women secretly watching them flutter, leaving them utterly captivated. “It’s fine. I’ll just consider it a workout!”
‘Holy crap! How can anyone be this shameless? Martin Quinn really lives up to his reputation as the young master of the Quinn Family. That mouth of his is just too vicious!’
The three of them remained in a standoff. Martin Quinn refused to let go, Seraphina Sterling insisted on taking her friend, and Nadia Chapman, held tight in Martin’s arms, had no say in the matter at all.
Leo Warren stood to the side, helpless. The situation was at a stalemate; unless someone backed down, there was no resolution in sight.
“Mr. Quinn, you certainly seem to be in a leisurely mood, working out here so late at night.” A lazy drawl sounded out. Seraphina Sterling didn’t even need to turn around to know who had arrived.
‘A workout…’ Nadia Chapman stared at the ceiling, speechless. ‘Do I really need to lose weight? Has my body weight reached the level of gym equipment?’
“Mr. Grant, I have some matters to attend to at the club today, so I can’t entertain you. Perhaps you could visit another time.” Martin Quinn was still being relatively polite to Terrence Grant. Both of their families were titans of industry, just in different fields. Their statuses were equally distinguished, with neither being superior to the other. Terrence Grant was probably the only person who could elicit such a courteous tone from Martin Quinn.
“Of course,” Terrence Grant replied. “But I’d advise you to put down the woman you’re holding. If this drags on any longer, the sun will be up soon. You run a massive company yourself, so you should understand just how exhausting it is to be a president. President Chapman is managing two companies. Keystone Technologies just launched a new product today, and she’ll have a mountain of work waiting for her tomorrow. And that’s not even mentioning her investment firm! If she doesn’t rest well tonight, tomorrow will be even more of a struggle for her.”
Terrence Grant said this casually, as if it were an afterthought. Martin Quinn immediately hesitated, his deep eyes flickering with suspicion. “I’m surprised, Mr. Grant. After joining The Grant Group, you’ve gotten up to speed on the business world remarkably fast. You’re even well-informed about companies like Keystone Technologies and Apex Wealth Management.”
“But of course. A guy like me is a quick study; naturally, I’d know about something so simple. I just hadn’t dipped my toes in the business world before, so I wasn’t up to date. But that’s all changed now! You’d better watch your back, Mr. Quinn. You’re about to have a formidable new rival.”
