Chapter 93: Valper Galilei
"Lady Gabriel, may I ask you for information about someone?"
"I would gladly exchange my feather of angel for it," Rias said as she bit her lip helplessly.
Gabriel smiled and replied, "As long as it is not a secret of heaven, I'll tell you everything I know."
"If it is just information about one person, there is no need to exchange it for the item."
"Thank you, Lady Gabriel," Rias said gratefully.
"I wonder if you have ever heard of someone named Valper Galilei?"
Hearing the name, Gabriel looked visibly angry.
It was obvious she had little goodwill towards this person.
"He orchestrated the holy sword project and all the test subjects who participated in the experiments were gassed to death after the project failed," Rias explained in detail.
Sona understood that Rias wanted to completely resolve the last remaining problem of Yuuto.
She had learned about Valper from Yasuhiro.
Rias secretly used her clan resources to search for him more than once but to no avail.
The information they found was pitifully scarce.
According to what Sona understood, there were detailed records in heaven and the church regarding angels who fell from grace and stray exorcists.
"You are asking for that child, aren't you?"
Gabriel had a full understanding of Rias and her peerage.
She was especially aware of Yuuto and she felt deeply guilty about what happened to him.
The holy sword project was always one of the darkest stains on the history of the church and something they desperately tried to cover up.
"After betraying the church, Valper joined forces with Kokabiel."
"According to information obtained by the church, he is still conducting follow up experiments for the holy sword project." Gabriel revealed without hiding anything.
"Kokabiel? Isn't he?" Rias was shocked.
She wanted to capture Valper directly to resolve the trauma that had been imprisoning Kiba.
However, she didn't expect that Valper had joined the fallen angels.
"Rias, all of this is due to the inaction of heaven and our failure to protect that child."
"Fortunately, he met you at the critical moment when his life was hanging by a thread."
"This is his good fortune and also the protection of the lord," Gabriel sighed.
Since the death of the biblical god, the system established to maintain heaven and the faith of the church was riddled with loopholes.
Evil events like the holy sword project had occurred more than once.
In fact, the number of such incidents was increasing daily.
This was all because the four seraphs and many other high ranking angels needed to constantly maintain and run the system, causing the situation described by Gabriel.
It was a severe problem arising from a lack of proper management.
"Rias, if you hand over the feather of angel to me, I guarantee that when you wake up tomorrow, Valper will be kneeling at your feet."
"I might even bring Kokabiel." Yasuhiro interjected.
"Yasuhiro, put away your unwholesome thoughts."
"The item cannot be traded away like that. Otherwise, it would be a disgrace to me." Gabriel scolded sternly.
She knew perfectly well what was on his mind and that it was necessary to extinguish the idea before he could act on it.
These were the lessons and experiences Gabriel learned from spending so much time with Yasuhiro.
"What a pity," Yasuhiro said with a click of his tongue, though his expression didn't show much actual regret.
Rias was a little tempted the moment Yasuhiro made the suggestion.
She even considered whether she should make a deal with him, even though she knew he had ulterior motives that were obviously not in her best interest.
