Dual World Apocalypse: My Harem Gives Me 10x Rewards

Chapter 104: Step 104 to Greatness: Keep Your Crazy Ex Closer

"You could say that," Adrian smiled and got out of the car. "I’m starting a business to help with the debt. These things are for that. We can store them at the warehouse and sell them later"

"Business? What business? No, first tell me where you got all this money from?"

Adrian opened his mouth to answer, but before he could, a voice interrupted them.

"Hi, Auntie!"

Gina stepped forward from behind one of the trucks, her long dark hair tied neatly and a polite smile on her face. She walked straight up to Yeji and Mark, politely nodding at them.

"Auntie Yeji, Uncle Mark. It’s good to see you both again after so long."

While Mark was unaware of who Gina was, Yeji blinked in surprise. She had met Gina before and had even invited her for lunch, as she used to date Adrian before.

However, it had been months since she had seen or heard about her. Naturally, she thought Adrian had broken up with her. Yet, that thought only made her feel at ease. After all, Gina did not belong to the same societal rung as them.

Not to mention, there were rumours about the kind of family she belonged to. So, even though Yeji did not explicitly say it, she wasn’t miffed about the possibility of their breakup.

"Gina, it’s so good to see you! But what are you doing here?" Yeji asked.

"Adrian didn’t tell you?" she said, turning towards him. "I’m the one who funded Adrian’s business. We’re working together now. All of these supplies... they’re for the new company we’re starting."

"You two... are partners?" Mark looked between Gina and his son, clearly taken aback.

"Yes... In business," Adrian cut Gina off before she could say anything odd.

"Yes, in business... for now." Gina repeated before wrapping her arms around Yeji’s. "Come, Auntie, should I show you the renovations Adrian asked me to do?"

"Renovations? This boy is getting—"

Before she could say the words, Gina dragged her inside the second warehouse. With nothing better to do, Adrian and Mark followed the ladies. The moment they stepped inside the place, even Adrian was shocked.

I only asked her for help to clean up the place, not to do this! How the heck did she even manage to overhaul the place in one night?

Since they were going to get shoved into an apocalypse, Adrian just wanted a basic shelter. After all, he would most likely get rewards in this world to build it up later.

Gina, unaware and ecstatic to help him, had completely outdone herself. There were proper beds there, with a small section that had been cornered off as a kitchen with all the appliances one would and wouldn’t need.

There were three washrooms as well. Two inside the warehouse and another one that functioned as an outhouse. Heck, there was even an industry-grade generator right outside the warehouse to power both warehouses, with two tanker trucks parked next to it filled to the brim with diesel.

As if that wasn’t enough, private security was also stationed there. Each was carrying their weapons and even had a temporary house made for them just in case.

Surprisingly, every single guard was a woman without any family or lovers outside. At least that’s what Gina told him. Adrian had only asked for the latter part.

After all, if he was going to have strangers live with him, he didn’t want them to have any outside connection that could lead to them endangering the well-being of his parents once the apocalypse hit.

Gina had taken it one step further, and thanks to that, apart from the people unloading the trucks, Adrian and Mark were the only men there, which took Adrian by surprise.

From what he remembered, Gina was more of a yandere, and it was the reason she never liked Yeji, even though she was Adrian’s biological mother.

For someone like her to fill the place up with women could mean one of two things. First, she had ’fixed’ herself and didn’t care about other women, or second, she was going to stay there with him... something she had mentioned in their call last night.

Well, it won’t be that bad... right?

As he thought that, Yeji and Mark were in disbelief. While the warehouses had been liveable, the quality of life there had significantly been boosted by Gina’s efforts.

"You did all this...?" Yeji asked, still holding on to Gina’s hand.

Gina felt her touch, and her eyes flicked briefly toward Adrian before returning to Yeji, as if she wanted to score as many brownie points as she could from her.

"O-Of course, auntie. Adrian told me about what happened yesterday, and this is the least I could do for you... and him."

Gina said the last part so quietly, even Adrian barely caught it with his enhanced hunter’s hearing. It was at that moment that he almost blurted out that she had been there when everything happened with the goons.

If she wanted to stop them, she could have done it. But she didn’t. Adrian wasn’t naive enough to believe it wasn’t her intention to make them scared or worried about their well-being.

Gina most likely wanted to make Adrian dependent on her. She wanted him to know that she was the one person who could ease his burdens. That’s why when he asked for her help with the warehouses, she didn’t hesitate for a second and did more than he had asked for.

Adrian knew all that, yet he asked for her help. Well, it was for a reason.

Gina was resourceful, and it would be wrong not to milk her for it while he could to make his life easier. Besides, how was he supposed to keep her in check if she kept moving around freely?

The last thing he wanted was for her to find him when the apocalypse started and imprison him so he would be ’safe’.

She’s the only person I know who would do anything to be close to me. Rather than leaving her to her unpredictable self, I would much rather have her close to me to keep an eye on.
