Chapter 111: Uniqueness Mechanism
"Is it because of the demigod status?"
Lucian fell deep into thought.
"No, it's not the demigod status. It's the Omnipotence Trait."
The Omnipotence Trait was special; Lucian concluded. His Omnipotence Trait wasn't just a singular characteristic—it was a trait that encompassed countless others, giving it an extremely high innate priority.
When contradictions arose, even Lucian's Divine Court had to give way.
"Is this a good thing?" Lucian pondered.
If it possessed the trait of uniqueness, it should definitely be considered a good thing. The Divine Court was his, and the Omnipotence Trait was his as well. This was a union of absolute strengths.
As expected, not choosing illusions was the right call. The Omnipotence Trait was so potent it even surprised Lucian.
"I should establish a Uniqueness Mechanism."
Lucian had no intention of sharing the Omnipotence Trait; in fact, he planned to cut off any possibility of it entirely. It was enough for him alone to wield this power. Having rules with a priority higher than the Divine Court would inevitably cause unforeseen variables, and something this absurdly overpowered couldn't be allowed to spread.
The system of the Divine Court already integrated various aspects and provided an experience system for Limit Breaks. Introducing it to the outside world would instantly make someone invincible among their peers. That level of treatment was already exceptional; there was no need to hand out the Omnipotence Trait on top of it.
Furthermore, this experiment led Lucian to another conclusion. The so-called demigod system had no such thing as "demigod potential" or a "demigod constitution."
A demigod was a demigod. Even a Level 1 demigod was still a demigod. The only difference lay in their total energy reserves and their mastery over that power.
After manifesting a Seed of Authority, Levels 1 through 10 simply became a transitional phase to accumulate foundational strength. Although the Black Dragon had surpassed Level 10, it had only done so by swallowing a Great Spirit to achieve a Limit Break. In essence, it paled in comparison to the demigod system Lucian had pioneered.
After all, the Black Dragon was merely a monster mixed with a spirit, whereas Lucian's demigod system directly mirrored the authorities of the gods.
"Under normal circumstances, condensing a Seed of Authority without relying on the Divine Avatar should span from Level 1 to Level 10. Once you reach the absolute limit, you condense the Seed of Authority based on your own will."
A Seed of Authority could possess multiple attributes or just a single one. Focusing on a single attribute required less mental effort, and the combat power wouldn't necessarily be weak—it just meant having fewer tools at your disposal, leaving you vulnerable to being countered.
Condensing a Seed of Authority didn't require building it from scratch either. Didn't they have something as convenient as a Magic Slot to use as a base material?
It was practically tailor-made for Lucian's demigod system... Well, no, he had it backward.
More accurately, the Seed of Authority was a system built upon convenient concepts like the Magic Slot. After all, the Falna system itself was a spell formula created by the gods by diluting their own power.
Divine power was diluted into mental strength, authorities into Magic Slots, the divine body into the four basic attributes, and the divine soul into the magic attribute.
Now, Lucian was using the Falna to trace everything back to its origin. Mental strength ascended into Comprehensive Magic, and the Magic Slot ascended into the Seed of Authority.
As for the divine body and soul, reaching Level 10 would likely trigger a true Limit Break, elevating one into a complete demigod. Because the systems governing his physical body and soul were incomplete, his current Limit Break hadn't reached the true theoretical maximum of a demigod.
Only his Comprehensive Magic and Seed of Authority had met that standard. This was due to the imperfection of the framework. The maximum limits of the five basic attributes under the Falna were not his actual limits.
"I have a solid grasp on these traits now."
Lucian murmured, "But gathering the Seeds of Authority is a bit of a hassle. On one hand, I have to cultivate them in the Sea of Illusions, and on the other, I need to hunt for unique products from other worlds. I can't rush this."
The Omnipotence Trait was phenomenal, but the Comprehensive Magic itself was still lacking—it wasn't fully complete. He could only take his time to find the missing pieces.
"This will do."
Lucian revealed a content expression. Clasping his hands together, he said, "Rudra, Apate, Alecto, Thanatos, Icelos... Thank you for your contributions."
Rudra's storms, Apate's deceit, Alecto's vengeance, Thanatos's death, and Icelos's sleep. Thanks to them, Lucian had gained five new authorities.
His main body had only acquired five Seeds of Authority, barely moving the needle toward perfection, but for the Sea of Illusions, it was an invaluable wealth.
Not to mention, when Lucian finally reached the limits of a demigod, he would likely need complete authorities, meaning he could reap another massive wave of benefits then.
"These gods really are living treasure troves..."
Lucian sighed in admiration.
It was a pity he couldn't just trigger Ragnarok; otherwise, the harvest would be even more bountiful. But seeing as his lovers included goddesses, and he wasn't the type to slaughter the innocent indiscriminately anyway, that was off the table.
Even though he couldn't harvest authorities by killing other gods, there were other methods. After a moment of thought, Lucian formulated a plan.
"Teleport."
Next, Lucian headed to Knossos. The battle there had yet to conclude.
Unfazed by the surrounding chaos, Lucian gathered a batch of Ignis Stones. He then returned to the Divine Court to synthesize them. By diverting the flow at a diagonal corner, he established a Flaming Spring of Life.
His Slime Armament detached from his body and plunged into the water first. Lucian slowly waded in after it, comfortably sinking into the scalding waters of the flaming spring.
Should I do this for the other elements too?
Lucian mused.
Wind, lightning, earth, light, darkness...
On second thought, he decided against it. He would just leave the production methods over by the divine statue so anyone who needed one could make it themselves.
The Spring of Life would be routed to the residential area, giving every room its own branch line. If they really wanted a specialized elemental spring, they could install one themselves. There was no need to take up public space for niche elemental springs.
"Lord Lucian, I see you~"
Not long after Lucian had settled in, Taluvi came skipping over.
Beside her was a timid Dunya Musta'sim. Compared to the power-hungry Aiz or Meteria—who almost always had Alfia by her side—Taluvi preferred spending time with Dunya Musta'sim.
Because Dunya Musta'sim possessed a very meek personality, while Taluvi was lively and assertive, the two complemented each other perfectly.
It was much like the future dynamic between Daphne and Cassandra of the Apollo Familia. Their personalities balanced out, and the stronger one always looked out for the weaker one.
For Dunya Musta'sim, Taluvi had been a long-awaited salvation. She cherished this friend immensely—almost as much as she revered her faith in Lucian.
