"Welcome, Goddess Prometheus."

With a flash of light, Lucian appeared in the Divine Court.

Standing before him was Ilia, a member of the shrine maiden troupe, with her petite frame, brown skin, and long purple hair.

"Is this another world?"

Prometheus slicked her hair back—a gesture reminiscent of Aizen's iconic sweep—and the naive, tsundere look in her eyes completely vanished, replaced by a profound, divine majesty.

She observed the Divine Court with keen interest. Upon arriving in this world, she had immediately noticed that she was no longer locked on by the World Correction Force.

This meant that even if she used her divine power, she wouldn't be forcefully repatriated.

There was only one explanation for this: this place was completely isolated from the outside world.

And to achieve such a thing, there was only one possibility—it was another dimension entirely.

"This is a world of my creation," Lucian said with a faint smile. "Thoughts?"

Prometheus remained silent for a moment before replying, "Utterly absurd."

She had assumed she was simply brought to another world, but now he was telling her he had created this place himself?

Even Prometheus nearly lost her composure. This was just too ridiculous.

"Seeing you gods make faces like that brings me enough satisfaction, especially you, the Goddess of Foresight," Lucian chuckled.

"Are you mocking me?" Prometheus glared at him. "You know full well I did something foolish that nearly doomed the entire Lower World."

"But you also have to admit, without you casting the Flame of Heaven down to the mortal realm back then, humanity wouldn't have known how to survive their most difficult era," Lucian shrugged. "Even if Zeus and the others took action, they would have, at most, sent down Great Spirits. Without Epimetheus, human history would have been vastly more tragic than it originally was."

Prometheus hadn't anticipated that the Flame of Heaven would become corrupted. The main issue was the stark difference between Heaven and the outside environment.

Heaven, in essence, was the Inner Sea of the Planet, and the Inner Sea of the Planet functioned as the world's Reality Marble.

Even the gods, acting as extensions of Heaven, possessed semi-permanent energy sources. Heaven naturally expanded infinitely until it reached the maximum limit the planet could sustain.

Not even the gods knew just how vast the celestial sea of Heaven truly was.

Even so, Heaven—the manifestation of the planet's soul—possessed power that was far greater and infinitely more pristine than the planet itself.

It was just like Lucian's Sea of Illusions and his current physical body—they were no longer on equal footing.

Sub-species divine power was an absolutely pure, masterless heavenly treasure. Once it left Heaven, it was only natural that it would be polluted by the external environment.

Yet, it wasn't a foregone conclusion. Even the Goddess of Foresight made mistakes and failed to predict this outcome.

"I see... You really are gentle, kid."

Prometheus sighed and said, "Just like Epimetheus, I've been constantly wondering if I made a mistake by throwing the Flame of Heaven down to the Lower World."

"Not only did it alter his entire life and plunge him into eternal confusion, but it also became a source of disaster for the realm."

"Thankfully, you showed up when you did."

Prometheus looked at Lucian earnestly. "I can feel the Flame of Heaven burning beneath the Divine Court. You're using it as an energy source, aren't you?"

Lucian nodded. There was no need to deny it.

"You've already taken the Flame of Heaven. Strictly speaking, there was no need for you to explain any of this to Epimetheus," she continued. "So, I want to thank you."

"Thank you for saving the Lower World and cleaning up after my foolishness."

"And thank you for saving Epimetheus. You were the one who granted him salvation."

"I see..." Lucian chuckled softly. "Then, in what capacity are you thanking me?"

"As a goddess, or as a maiden?"

Seeing Lucian's grin, Prometheus paused for a second before shooting him a glare.

She marched right up to him, grabbed him by the collar, and demanded, "Squat down a bit."

"Shortie," Lucian teased, but he bent down anyway.

"You just had to open your big mouth, didn't you!" Prometheus struggled to keep a straight face. Quickly adjusting her mindset, she pressed her lips against his.

Just as she tried to pull away, Lucian wrapped his arms around her waist, deepening the kiss fiercely.

After a long while, the two parted. Prometheus dramatically wiped her mouth with feigned disgust. "How greedy. If you excessively demand a goddess's blessing, that blessing just might turn into a curse."

"Do you think I'm afraid of curses?" Lucian shot back.

A god's possessiveness was a terrifying thing. Having lived for hundreds of millions of years, if they truly fell in love with a mortal, they would pursue them for countless eons; even reincarnation wouldn't offer an escape.

But then again...

Remembering that this very world was Lucian's masterpiece, she realized she had just said something incredibly foolish.

Tch. The more you overthink, the easier it is to do and say stupid things... I really am hopeless.

"Other than a 'maiden's gratitude,' is there anything else you want?" Prometheus asked. "Although I'm just a useless goddess, if I can use my divine power in this world, I can at least be of some use. Consider it a token of my appreciation."

"How about joining the Divine Court?"

Lucian smiled softly. "You've probably noticed by now, but this world is similar to Heaven. I suppose you could call it a mini-Heaven, right?"

"It's a world in its developmental phase, and it desperately needs a complete deity like you to join its ranks."

The Sea of Illusions was akin to the Danmachi world's Heaven, but the difference in scale was immense.

While Heaven could birth the pantheon of gods, Lucian's Sea of Illusions was nowhere near that level; at most, it could generate Spirits.

Every god represented different rules. They were the very manifestations of those rules, and the complete tapestry woven from countless rules was what they called an Authority.

"Alright."

Prometheus agreed, adding, "Honestly, for utterly bored gods like us, this could even be considered a reward."

Lucian smiled and manifested a mark.

She accepted the mark and instantly understood its function.

Without a hint of hesitation, she branded the mark directly onto her divine soul.

With that, she officially became a part of the Divine Court.

"Oh?" Prometheus blinked in surprise, her eyes gradually lighting up. "I can use my own imagination to create worlds here?"

Upon becoming a resident of the Divine Court, she naturally gained access to the functions Lucian had unlocked.

The Divine Court's features were significantly more mind-blowing than Heaven's.

In Heaven, the most they could do was resurrect, attain omniscience via the Akashic Records, and wield omnipotence through their world administrative rights.

Their innate Authorities were simply minuscule fragments that made up the world's total permissions.

But no matter how massive Heaven was, it lacked human-like consciousness and the capacity for thought—in other words, a mind.

If the world were compared to a human, the Lower World's planet would be the physical body, Heaven would be the soul, and the gods would represent the mind.

Since a single god couldn't bear the spiritual burden of an entire planet, Heaven birthed a vast multitude of deities.

However, this also meant that the world's permissions were divided among them. No single god could achieve true omniscience and omnipotence, nor could any single god represent the world in its entirety.

In the neighboring Magi universe, the planet's soul was Ill Ilah. Yet, He failed to birth a consciousness. His underlying mechanics were so poor that He couldn't even compile Authorities like the Danmachi world did, nor did He possess the infinite energy source required to transform into an Inner Sea of the Planet.

Therefore, Ill Ilah was an Innate God, whereas the Danmachi deities were Innate Gods of Rules.

In terms of pure essence, Ill Ilah was naturally higher, seeing as He was on the same level as Heaven itself. But Ill Ilah lacked a personality, and His systems were far too primitive.

It was much like how sub-species divine power was easily dominated when facing a true god. Even Hestia, with her divine power sealed, could reel in and manipulate the Flame of Heaven's power with just a day's effort.

That was the fundamental difference between a mere tool and a living being.
