"Is that... in your Djinn Equip state?" Ren Kougyoku asked.

"Of course," Lucian nodded, then continued, "The intensity of Extreme Magic is very high. If dungeon explorers formed a raid team, there's a certain possibility they could subjugate it."

This was still only the 69th floor. Just how many floors lay beneath it, even Lucian wasn't entirely sure... Did other worlds actually have such terrifying places?

As they chatted, the monster on the ground gradually turned to ash. A Magic Stone dropped from the remains, and simultaneously, a treasure chest emerged from the ground.

"This is the reward for ending the battle."

Lucian smiled. After opening it, three swords lay inside.

Lucian handed them to the three girls. The difference between being armed and unarmed was quite significant, especially for Ren Kougyoku, who was naturally a swordsman.

"Want to keep going?" Lucian asked.

"Of course!"

The three of them were in high spirits, treating the dangerous dungeon like a game as they continued moving forward.

Just as they were talking and laughing, a hole suddenly opened up in the ground where Yamraiha stepped. With one careless misstep, she plummeted down and was instantly skewered right through like a shish kebab.

"Eh, eh!?"

The remaining two were stunned.

Blood pooled across the ground. Yamraiha struggled for a few seconds before her head tilted to the side, completely devoid of life.

Just as they were about to say something, golden light burst from Yamraiha's blood and corpse. It soon materialized into a golden angel floating in mid-air.

"I died!?"

Yamraiha let out a shrill scream, sounding like a startled groundhog.

I've seen all sorts of crazy things!

But I've definitely never seen anything like this.

Ren Kougyoku and Scheherazade's expressions turned rather complicated.

"True Form. This state reclaims the physical body and protects the soul, waiting quietly for revival," Lucian explained. "This form can protect the soul, preventing it from directly returning to the Rukh while also rendering it immune to any external abilities—though, of course, that isn't absolute."

After all, True Form was a system mechanism. When two conflicting mechanisms collided, there were generally two possible outcomes.

First: If there is insufficient energy to maintain the mechanism, the side unable to sustain it faces defeat.

Second: The formation of a paradox, which would result in two states—a complete crash or a world-breaking bug.

Setting aside the paradox, let's just talk about maintaining the mechanism.

True Form was connected to the Divine Court, and the Divine Court was the core pillar of his entire mental world. Therefore, breaking the mechanism required enough power to shake his entire mental landscape.

Furthermore, the Divine Court and his mental world had various other mechanisms, including defensive ones. Thus, the first point required countering more than just a single mechanism.

Coupled with the Ether Circulation function, simply having strong raw output made it exceedingly difficult to shake the entire Divine Court.

Because of this, Lucian had yet to see anyone capable of breaking his mechanism, though that didn't mean such a person absolutely didn't exist.

There were also ways to bypass the mechanism, such as severing the connection between True Form and the Divine Court, or using sealing techniques.

However, for any method he could think of, Lucian had fundamentally perfected the rules to cut off any possibility of being bypassed. This was one of the key purposes of Rule Creation.

"Roughly how long will it take to revive?" Scheherazade inquired.

"One minute." Lucian said, "That's the rule within the random dungeon. In the outside world, various factors have to be considered, so it might be a little slower."

They didn't continue forward; instead, they waited.

"My death was way too unceremonious! It's completely unbelievable." Yamraiha flew up and circled around them, her words brimming with grievance.

Life and death were unpredictable; that was just the way of things, so she wasn't actually too shocked.

If she had her magic, she could have easily flown out. Without magic, she was nothing more than a useless weakling with slightly above-average physical fitness.

Soon, the one-minute waiting time flashed by. The golden angel flickered with radiant light, sweeping down from above.

As the light washed over her, Yamraiha reappeared in mid-air and safely landed on the ground.

"I revived... What a bizarre sensation." Yamraiha marveled.

"You'll have to be more careful from now on, Miss Yamraiha." Ren Kougyoku reminded her.

"I know, I know... This sense of powerlessness is really annoying." Yamraiha sighed.

"That's because the laws of your world are rather unique. Your magic relies too heavily on the environment."

Lucian raised his hand as he spoke, and a cluster of flames immediately ignited upon his palm. He explained, "Other worlds don't have Rukh. Without it, you have to directly construct the spell formula using your own mana to cast magic, rather than using command formulas to order the Rukh to construct it for you."

The core of spellcasting in the Magi universe was the command formula. It involved using mana to communicate with the Rukh, which then formed the spell—an extra, albeit powerful, step.

While this made using magic incredibly convenient, requiring only a command formula to order the Rukh, it also inherently meant an over-reliance on the surrounding environment.

Under normal circumstances, there was naturally no difference, but it left them completely helpless in other worlds.

One could say that the magicians of the Magi world cast magic in a manner much closer to spirit-arts users.

Rukh could essentially be considered a type of nature spirit—just an incredibly microscopic one lacking any self-awareness.

By issuing commands to these nature spirits through specific formulas, they could manifest all kinds of magic.

"Constructing a spell formula with one's own mana..." Scheherazade pondered deeply, a surge of mana welling up in her hand.

However... it was useless.

Mana was just mana; it couldn't form a spell formula on its own.

"How exactly do you construct a spell formula?" Scheherazade asked.

"Mana and mana are different depending on the world. There's another distinct discrepancy here."

Lucian observed Scheherazade's actions. While keeping the flame alive in one hand, an identical glow of life energy appeared in his other hand.

"The mana in your world is fundamentally life energy, whereas the mana in the DanMachi world is spiritual energy. It's a difference in power systems," Lucian explained. "There's also another method, which relies on Magicules directly stored within the body. Both spiritual energy and Magicules can be directly converted into magic."

"Life energy alone cannot directly form a spell formula."

Life energy and spiritual energy could be mutually converted. Ultimately, the spirit resided within the brain, and the brain was a part of the physical body, merely possessing a Yin-aligned nature.

The Magi world fundamentally operated on this principle as well. Rukh was a force inclined toward the spiritual. A Magi could exchange their physical stamina for boundless mana, which at its core was simply a form of conversion.

Stamina exchanged for mana, mana commanded the Rukh, and the Rukh formed the magic. Ordinary magicians lacked that very first step—that was the crucial difference between a Magi and a regular magician.

"Doesn't that just mean we still can't use magic?" someone complained.

"It just means you can't do it."

"Life energy and spiritual energy can be mutually converted. To me, the only difference between the two energies lies in their distinct properties, which simply equates to using different types of magic."

"When life energy is expressed outwardly, it takes the form of Life Magic. Watch this—"

As Lucian spoke, a monster spawned ahead of them. It was a Silverback.

He extinguished the flame in his hand, then altered the properties of the golden life energy in his other hand, aiming his palm right at the beast before him.

Boom!!

A massive shockwave erupted from Lucian's palm. Instantly, the Silverback in front of him was blown into a pile of mangled flesh by the sheer concussive force.

Without donning a Djinn Equip, this level of impact was absolutely impossible to withstand. At the very least, one would need a highly compatible Vassal Weapon to even stand a chance.
