Chapter 698: Your Master
Interest and curiosity flickered across the masked man’s eyes, and a faint smile appeared on his thin lips.
"Since you are so capable... You should be honored to be sacrificed for my plan."
As his words fell, he waved his hand. In an instant, the stone pillars exploded, and the tornadoes dispersed.
Boom!
Acting on instinct, Feng Xiyan pulled Bai Hanyun into his arms, shielding her from the flying debris. At the same time, the Yin Mirror erected a barrier, protecting them, Feng Wu, and the shadow guards.
Dust filled the air, obscuring their vision. Though they could not see clearly, the Yin Mirror sensed the changes within the formation.
Looking up, her expression changed. "Not good. The formation is almost complete."
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan followed her gaze.
Above them, golden lines began to appear on the formation, interweaving and connecting across the sky.
Without hesitation, Feng Xiyan took out all the attack talismans Bai Hanyun had given him earlier. Positioning himself in front of her, he threw them toward the formation as if they were worthless.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions echoed through the imperial palace grounds, shaking the earth and reducing nearby buildings to rubble.
Yet even after using more than fifty talismans, the formation remained intact. Feng Xiyan’s expression darkened at this sight.
Clenching his jaw, he shifted his focus from the formation to Jin Yu and the masked man.
’If I can’t break the formation, then I will eliminate the one controlling it.’
With that thought in mind, Feng Xiyan threw a water-element talisman toward them.
Seeing the incoming attack, the masked man casually flicked his fingers.
Boom!
The talisman exploded before it could even touch the hem of his robe.
When he saw this, Feng Xiyan’s expression sank. With a flip of his palm, his black sword appeared.
"Yun’er, stay here with the Yin Mirror." Feng Xiyan calmly said.
Before Bai Hanyun could respond, Feng Xiyan dashed forward, sword in hand.
Seeing this, Feng Wu and the shadow guards immediately followed.
The masked man’s eyes flickered coldly and sneered. "Foolish."
Feng Xiyan kicked off the ground and charged forward, his sword slicing down toward the masked man’s head.
But just as the blade was about to strike the masked man, it collided with an invisible barrier.
Clang!
The impact sent Feng Xiyan flying backward.
"Xiyan!" Bai Hanyun’s eyes reddened with worry at this sight.
"Master!" Feng Wu’s pupils shrank. Leaping into the air, he caught Feng Xiyan and landed steadily.
Feng Xiyan pressed a hand against his chest and coughed up a mouthful of blood. "Cough!"
"Master!" Feng Wu exclaimed in worry, supporting him. "Are you alright?"
Feng Xiyan wiped the blood from his lips, his gaze fixed on the masked man. "I’m fine."
Witnessing everything from the side, Bai Hanyun’s hands clenched tightly as anger surged within her. She glared at the masked man.
"You dare hurt him? Then you will pay the price!"
As her words fell, she flipped her hand. In the next second, a rocket launcher appeared.
The moment the Yin Mirror saw it, her eyes widened in shock. She had seen the rocket launcher before and knew the damage it could cause.
Before the Yin Mirror could stop Bai Hanyun, she raised the rocket launcher, aimed at the formation in the air, and pulled the trigger.
At that instant, the Yin Mirror hurriedly reinforced the barrier around them. The barrier glowed just as the rocket struck the formation.
Boom!
Thanks to the Yin Mirror, everyone was protected from the impact of the explosion.
As the ground trembled and dust filled the air, the masked man’s expression darkened.
When the dust finally settled, Bai Hanyun quickly looked up at the formation. A hint of excitement flashed in her eyes when she spotted a faint crack.
"It’s working!" she exclaimed.
Meanwhile, the masked man gritted his teeth. Turning toward her, he sneered, "You are courting death."
The moment his words fell, he vanished from where he stood.
Jin Yu was startled, but before he could react, the masked man had already appeared beside the Yin Mirror.
Reaching out, he seized Bai Hanyun by the neck and lifted her into the air.
Startled, Bai Hanyun instinctively kicked at him, but it was useless. "Ugh!"
Feng Xiyan and the others could not see Bai Hanyun’s invisible form, but they could clearly see the masked man gripping empty air.
In that instant, Feng Xiyan understood. The masked man was grabbing Bai Hanyun. At this realization, his eyes turned red.
Ignoring his injuries, he gripped his black sword and charged forward." Let her go!"
The masked man didn’t even spare him a glance. With a casual wave of his hand, a surge of spiritual energy hit Feng Xiyan.
Bam!
Feng Xiyan was struck by a powerful force and sent flying.
Crash!
He hit the ground heavily, coughing up another mouthful of blood. "Cough!"
Standing beside Bai Hanyun, the Yin Mirror was bound by a golden chain. She struggled to break free, only to realize she could no longer use her spiritual energy.
She was stunned for a second, then looked at the masked man in shock. Fixing her gaze on the masked man, she asked coldly, "Who are you?"
The masked man continued staring at Bai Hanyun and replied, "Your master."
For a brief moment, the Yin Mirror was stunned, then realization struck her.
"You are—!" She was too shocked to complete her words.
The masked man glanced at the Yin Mirror and smiled faintly. "Still as clever as ever. What a pity the Yang Mirror is not here. Otherwise, we could settle the old score at once."
As soon as he finished speaking, he formed a hand seal and sealed the Yin Mirror’s voice.
At that moment, Feng Xiyan forced himself to stand and charged forward again. This time, Feng Wu and the shadow guards followed closely behind him.
Seeing them approach once more, the masked man’s gaze turned cold. "You truly don’t know your own limits," he said with a hint of annoyance in his ghostly voice.
Just as Feng Xiyan’s sword was about to pierce his chest, the masked man snapped his fingers.
Boom!
