My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World

Chapter 213: Golden Pillar Of Light

Hearing Feng Xiyan’s question, the leader calmly replied, "The first condition is that this subordinate will not kill the innocent and will only be responsible for General Ji’s safety."

"The second condition is that the members of the shadow guard team will be personally chosen by this subordinate."

Hearing this, Feng Xiyan thought for a moment and asked, "You mean the Ji family’s shadow guards are your people?"

The leader nodded and explained, "Yes. All members of the Ji family’s shadow guards are this subordinate’s sect members and friends from Jiang Hu."

Listening to his explanation, Feng Xiyan thought, ’No wonder all of the Ji family’s shadow guards use different martial arts. Each and every one of them is an expert and a master in martial arts. If I can control them, they may be useful for my future plans.’

Seeing that Feng Xiyan was deep in thought, the leader added, "Great General Feng, this subordinate has long admired the reputation of the Feng Clan’s shadow guards."

"If you are willing to accept this subordinate and my team, we are willing to offer even our lives to you."

When he said this, Feng Xiyan raised his eyes to look at the leader.

Seeing the determination in his eyes, Feng Xiyan calmly said, "Very well. As long as you and your team can pass the test, you may join the Feng Clan’s shadow guards."

Upon hearing this, the leader’s eyes lit up. He hurriedly kowtowed to Feng Xiyan and sincerely said, "Thank you, Master!"

Waving his hand, Feng Xiyan calmly responded, "You may only call me ’Master’ after you pass the test."

After saying that, Feng Xiyan called out, "Feng Yi."

In the next second, Feng Yi appeared before Feng Xiyan and knelt down. With his head lowered, Feng Yi asked, "Master, what are your instructions?"

Hearing this, the leader was surprised to see Feng Yi there. His eyes widened in shock as he thought, ’This person... When did he appear here?’

Unaware that Feng Yi’s sudden appearance had shocked the leader, Feng Xiyan calmly said, "This man and his team will be handed over to you. Let them take the test."

"Yes, Master," Feng Yi replied, then grabbed the leader by the collar and disappeared with him in the next second.

Left alone with Tuluo Cheng, Feng Xiyan said, "Military Advisor Tuluo, remember, you never visited this general tonight."

When Tuluo Cheng heard this, his heart sank. Not wanting to give up, he looked up at Feng Xiyan and pleaded, "Great General Feng, please give this humble one a chance to prove my loyalty to you!"

Seeing his determination, Feng Xiyan pondered for a moment, then glanced at the bronze mirror placed on the altar.

’Since I don’t know for sure if he is friend or foe, I’d better let Heaven decide.’

Having made his decision, Feng Xiyan said, "Fine. This general will give you a chance to prove your loyalty."

Upon hearing this, Tuluo Cheng’s eyes lit up.

A second later, Feng Xiyan pointed to the altar and said, "If you can light the incense stick and receive Heaven’s approval, then this general will accept you."

The moment he said this, Tuluo Cheng’s expression changed.

Noticing this, Feng Xiyan raised his brows and asked, "What? You don’t dare?"

After a brief silence, Tuluo Cheng replied, "This subordinate doesn’t believe in gods or Heaven."

As soon as his words fell, the bronze mirror suddenly shone brightly.

Caught off guard by the sudden burst of light, Tuluo Cheng could only shield his eyes with his sleeve.

"What is happening?!" he asked in confusion.

While Tuluo Cheng was shocked by the sudden golden light, Feng Xiyan was also surprised to see it.

Ignoring the panic Tuluo Cheng, Feng Xiyan strode toward the altar. Standing before the bronze mirror, he knelt down, clasped his fists, and lowered his head.

"Heaven, what is your instruction?" he asked solemnly.

As the golden light grew brighter, it caught the attention of the Feng Army’s soldiers outside.

"Look! It’s the golden light!" exclaimed one of the patrolling soldiers as he pointed to the golden light shining down on the commander’s tent.

After witnessing the bright golden pillar of light on the day they enshrined Fairy Bai’s golden body, the soldiers already knew that such golden light was a sign that Heaven, or Fairy Bai, was descending into the mortal world.

As they stared at the golden light, the soldiers knelt on the ground and kowtowed deeply one after another while chanting, "This humble one thanks Heaven for blessing the Feng Army! Long live Heaven! Long live Fairy Bai! Long Live the Great General!"

At the same time, inside the commander’s tent, Feng Xiyan saw the bronze mirror slowly float up from its stand.

Watching with wide eyes, he saw the bronze mirror drift toward Tuluo Cheng. As it hovered above Tuluo Cheng’s head, the golden light grew denser and formed a golden pillar, pressing down on his body.

Feeling the sudden, heavy pressure, Tuluo Cheng collapsed to the ground.

"Ugh!"

Wanting to know what was pressing down on him, Tuluo Cheng forced his eyes open and looked up. The moment he saw the floating bronze mirror, his eyes widened in disbelief.

"W—what is this?" he asked with difficulty, trying to find the answer in the bronze mirror.

As he struggled, the bronze mirror grew brighter, and the pressure on his body increased.

A few seconds later, Tuluo Cheng was drenched in cold sweat. He thought, ’There is no trace of the Jiuli Tribe’s voodoo magic from this mirror. Could it be the Dizhu Tribe?’

Gritting his teeth, he shut his eyes. ’No! Impossible! The Dizhu Tribe is only a legend!’

At that thought, Tuluo Cheng’s face turned ashen as he felt the increasing pressure on his body. ’No way... There is no God in this world!’

As if the bronze mirror could peer into his thoughts, the moment Tuluo Cheng rejected the existence of God, the pressure on his body intensified.
