The Adopted Cannon Fodder Made a Comeback

Chapter 571: Perfection (Grand Finale)

Chapter 571: Chapter 549: Perfection (Grand Finale)

Holding Gu’er’s hand, Sun Jiaming sighed with emotion. The mushrooms had him reminiscing about the old days, too.

“Yeah, thinking about those days now, it feels like a dream. So many years have passed in a flash.”

Gu’er was filled with emotion as well. ‘It’s been over a decade since my rebirth.’ In that time, she hadn’t made any monumental achievements. She had never been a career woman, nor had she ever dreamed of becoming fabulously wealthy. All she wanted was a happy family and a peaceful, stable life.

Now, she owned a shopping mall and a few other stores. She had an export business in Guang City, and her trade with Russia was also going well. On top of that, she owned properties in major cities, had millions in the bank, and had a house and car right here. Financially, she was more than comfortable.

The nursing home and Hope Primary School she had founded were both doing exceptionally well. The school had even become the key primary school for the village, receiving special attention and resources from the township, and its faculty was excellent.

The nursing home had expanded significantly. Its name was now well-known; they had an excellent reputation in the village, the township, and even the city.

She had a son and a daughter, loving relatives, a harmonious family, and the man she loved was always by her side. What more could she possibly ask for?

Gu’er took a deep breath. ‘By being reborn, I left the Zhou family and changed the fate of my foster mother, Li Hua.’ Now, Li Hua and Qin Dali were doing very well. Zhou Feng’er and Zhang Da almost never visited the Qin Family anymore, because they knew they would get nothing from them.

Zhou Feng’er and Zhang Da were not having a good life. They fought and brawled all day long. Unlike the weak person Gu’er remembered from her past life, this Zhou Feng’er wasn’t afraid to fight back against Zhang Da. They never had a moment’s peace, but none of that was Gu’er’s concern.

Back in the village, Zhou Mazi and Zhou Cai were still around. Zhou Mazi spent all his time eating, drinking, and gambling. He was utterly destitute and never gave a thought to the future. Zhou Cai was following the same path and would likely turn into another Zhou Mazi. But that, too, had nothing to do with Gu’er.

Among the Zhou family, Zhou Duo’er was doing the best. She had married a decent man and would occasionally go back to visit Li Hua.

In previous years, Zheng Changsheng and Lin Shuying often took Zhonghe traveling. They had visited Guang City, Beijing City, Shanghai, and other places in the south. Now that Zheng Zhonghe was in kindergarten, Zheng Changsheng would take the whole family on trips during the holidays. Their life was also blissful.

Zhongshan and Xinghua were also doing well. Xinghua’s business was growing, and they were a harmonious couple.

As for Dingzi and Marina, they were doing wonderfully. They had never so much as argued or gotten cross with each other. Marina was now a mother of three—two daughters and one son. Her running plan with Gu’er had never materialized, so she had put on some weight. Gu’er guessed she had gained at least twenty pounds since getting married, though she wasn’t what you’d call heavyset. ‘But none of that matters,’ Gu’er thought. ‘As long as they’re happy, that’s all that counts.’

Things had also turned around for Liu Yuan and Bai Xiaohua, because Bai Xiaohua had finally given birth to a son. Liu Yuan’s mother was so thrilled she practically worshipped Bai Xiaohua; forget scolding her, she would have happily burned incense for her every day. However, Bai Xiaohua wasn’t an unreasonable person, so she continued to treat Liu Yuan’s parents very well.

Li Zhi and Feng Ling were also living a good life. The only sad event was last year, after the New Year, when Grandpa Guan had a fall in the middle of the night. He never got back up. Feng Ling was heartbroken at the time, and Gu’er spent a lot of time by her side. She reminded Feng Ling that Grandpa Guan had lived happily for the past few years, passed away without suffering, and that she had been a wonderful, filial granddaughter. She urged her to try and move past the grief.

Fortunately, Feng Ling became pregnant again not long after, which helped to ease her sorrow. That May, she gave Li Zhi another daughter. With a son and a daughter, their family was now complete.

Lin Sui’er had married her college boyfriend and moved to Beijing City. His family’s financial situation was only average, and at first, they were reluctant to approve the marriage, looking down on Sui’er for coming from a small city. But her boyfriend was insistent, as he truly loved her. Later, Gu’er gave Sui’er some money. Combining that with her own earnings and a contribution from Chen Fengjiao, Sui’er bought an apartment in Beijing City. Once married, the young couple moved into their new home, and her in-laws stopped complaining. Now, Sui’er and her husband are doing quite well. Sui’er runs her own business and has decided to wait a couple of years before having children. Though Chen Fengjiao urges her to hurry up in every phone call, the distance means Sui’er can simply ignore her. All her mother can do is nag.

Lin Zheng was growing more handsome by the day. Having learned martial arts from Dingzi, he had a great physique. His grades never dropped below third in his class, and plenty of the girls were fond of him. But he seemed completely oblivious when it came to romance; he was innocent and had no interest in that sort of thing, which made him refreshingly easy to look after.
