True Apocalypse Game

Chapter 402 - 377: Forbidden Human Transmutation

At that moment, Shen Feng felt something too. He snapped his eyes open and stared at the metal wall not far away.

His vision had been enhanced, so he immediately saw the dark figure struggling to break free from the metal wall.

It was a person!

But the person was shrouded in darkness and impossible to see clearly, as if they were nothing more than a mass of shadow—a shadow that had come to life.

Shen Feng’s heart pounded when he saw it. His thoughts raced. ’What the hell is this thing!? Is this Detective Conan?’

A moment later, however, he had already tightened his grip on his assault rifle, aiming it at the dark figure’s location.

Meanwhile, Witch Tower and the others, still meditating with their eyes closed, felt nothing amiss. They continued to follow Shen Feng’s instructions, picturing this world’s Antichrist and Savior in their minds.

Faces like Witch Tower’s and Bill’s, among the other sailors, showed expressions of reverent joy. Clearly, the Savior in their minds was a hero of great and noble character.

But the faces of Eddy and the other Purifiers were filled with fear and terror. To them, the Antichrist they imagined was nothing but a monster, a Blasphemer.

Logically, these two completely conflicting concepts should never be able to truly create a Shen Feng. After all, they knew almost nothing about him, having only gleaned fragments from legends.

But Shen Feng himself didn’t dare to take it lightly. He genuinely wanted to give it a try.

’What if they actually succeed?’

If that happened, his mission in Water World would become much easier. At the very least, he would have a version of himself from this world to act as a guide, preventing his progress from slowing down due to being in an unfamiliar land.

’But with their meditation... could a completely twisted being emerge?’

’A bad outcome?’

As Shen Feng was thinking, the human-like shadow had already struggled halfway out. Its hands were pulling themselves out of the darkness, as if its entire body had been embedded in the steel plate and was trying to break free.

Then, the dark figure suddenly opened its eyes, revealing whites and pupils. Its gaze was surprisingly pure and flawless, like two black jewels.

There wasn’t a trace of malice in the way it looked at the world.

Shen Feng’s finger rested on the trigger, his brow furrowed as he watched the dark figure. He was now faintly hoping this thing was the version of himself from this world.

But in the next instant, the shadow extended another pair of arms from the metal wall, grabbed two nearby steel beams, and began to forcefully pull itself out!

Shen Feng’s eyes widened as he saw yet another arm emerge from the shadow—making for a total of six arms!

The six arms, like a Spider’s legs, exerted tremendous force, even bending one of the steel beams. With a sudden, powerful heave, the dark figure’s entire body finally broke free from the metal wall!

THUD! The sound of something heavy hitting the ground was followed by a sigh from the figure. "Aah..."

It was as if it had been stuck in some dark place for too long and was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.

The group, still meditating, was startled by the sound. They all looked toward the noise and were immediately met with a dumbfounding sight:

It was a humanoid creature with six arms and two thick legs!

While they were still in shock, this "person" stepped out of the shadows and into the light, allowing everyone to finally see its appearance clearly.

It had bronze skin, snow-white teeth, and a somewhat handsome face, but it also had two twisted horns, amber pupils, six arms, two legs that were too thick to be human, and even claws curved like hooks.

However, the space between its legs was completely bare.

Shen Feng clicked his tongue and muttered:

"Human transmutation really is a taboo... What the hell came back from the Gate of Truth...?"

Witch Tower, standing beside him, naturally didn’t understand the reference to *Fullmetal Alchemist*. She glanced at Shen Feng, then immediately turned back to the six-armed "person" and asked with a tremor in her voice:

"S-Savior!?"

Her eyes were still filled with hope. Although the creature summoned before them was a bit strange, a little strangeness was fine. Who was to say the Savior didn’t have six arms? What if he really did?

This "person" hadn’t spoken yet; it was still possible that he was the Savior!

His eyes were so pure, and with that smile on his face... only the Savior could have such a pure gaze!

"The An... Antichrist... It really is the Antichrist!?" Eddy, at the side, said with an equal tremor.

The creature’s appearance was remarkably similar to the image of the Antichrist that the Purification Church had always propagated. In the Church’s propaganda, the Antichrist was a terrifying monster, a non-human entity.

The "person" ignored their voices. Instead, it suddenly grinned, revealing a mouthful of sharp, pointed teeth as its pupils constricted, and it stared at the crowd.

Its nose twitched slightly.

Shen Feng frowned and said:

"Get behind me."

The few sailors in the front immediately ran behind him. Even though they were inclined to believe this summoned being was the legendary Savior, they still felt a sense of unease.

"Shen..." Witch Tower cast a pleading look at Shen Feng. This scene was a bit different from the glorious return of the Savior she had always envisioned...

Just as Shen Feng was about to speak, the six-armed "person’s" nostrils flared. It then shot forward like a bolt of lightning, appeared before a blind Purifier, grabbed him, and sank its teeth into his neck!

Its mouth was full of hook-shaped Sharp Teeth that instantly severed the man’s blood vessels, sending blood flying!

The purity in its eyes was gone, replaced by bestial greed.

This scene terrified the sailors, who all huddled behind Shen Feng. Witch Tower, however, just stared with wide, jade-green eyes, her expression one of disbelief, as if she were trapped in a dream.

Shen Feng couldn’t help but sigh. He understood now that this thing was all form and no substance; it had no will of its own.

It was just a beast with a muddled consciousness, no different from the ones that had hunted him and Witch Tower before.

It made sense. Using the Quantum Force Field to convert physical objects might be possible, but directly creating a new consciousness was clearly not.

Human thought and consciousness guide the "creation" of the Quantum Force Field, but it is also the observation by human thought and consciousness that causes the Quantum Force Field to collapse. This in itself is a paradox.

From chaos, one can only obtain chaos.

Eddy had slumped to the ground, an eerie smile on his face, as if he had known all along that this was bound to happen.

Witch Tower, however, got to her feet in a daze and began walking toward the "person" that was devouring a human, muttering to herself:

"Savior... Are you the Savior? This world needs a Savior... This world needs light..."

The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. Her expectations for the Quantum Force Field had been far too high, and now, discovering that what they had summoned was nothing but a monster, she couldn’t accept it.

Though they couldn’t see what was happening, the remaining blind Purifiers could smell the blood and hear their companion’s screams. They instinctively backed away from the sounds, clearing a large area around the monster.

Witch Tower had now walked right up to the monster. She looked up at its face and reached out to touch one of its arms, desperately trying to find some trace of the "Savior" in it.

She was just so desperate for that person to return...

The light of humanity, the world’s salvation, the torch in all darkness...

’Is this really not "him"?’

Witch Tower studied the monster’s body intently. The next moment, the monster jerked its head up and stared at her, clearly baffled by the girl who had suddenly appeared.

’She looks delicious, though...’

Tossing aside the Purifier’s corpse, the six-armed monster opened its gaping maw, revealing teeth like daggers, and lunged at Witch Tower!
