True Apocalypse Game

Chapter 294 - 276: Feeding the Hippos

His speed was blinding. In an instant, he had Martin Benitez by the neck, pinning him against the wall.

The surrounding gang members didn’t even get a clear look at Shen Feng’s movements before he had seized their boss!

But the men were quick to react. In an instant, they had their guns drawn and pointed at the Asian, pulling their triggers.

RAT-TAT-TAT... Bullets struck the Asian from the side but failed to penetrate. Instead, they bounced off as if hitting an iron plate and clattered to the ground!

As the men watched in horror, the Asian turned his head, a vicious grin spreading across his face.

"That stings a little... How about you give it a try?"

The moment he finished speaking, sheets of a silver, mercury-like substance surged up from the ground, instantly enveloping a dozen of the armed gang members.

In the blink of an eye, the mercury-like substance had encased their entire bodies, forming what looked like skin-tight steel armor.

The next moment, the gang members discovered in horror that they could no longer control their own bodies. They were completely at the mercy of the Metal Armor!

Against their will, they turned their guns on their own comrades, pulled the triggers, and began to slaughter one another!

The uncontrolled gang members returned fire.

They had assumed the Metal Armor was bulletproof, but to their surprise, their bullets passed straight through it. The controlled gang members inside screamed in agony as they were riddled with holes, blood pouring from their wounds!

In moments, the controlled gang members had been shot to pieces, as dead as they could be. Yet, their corpses remained upright, controlled by the Metal Armor, and continued to fire upon the survivors!

Blood streamed from the holes in the Metal Armor. Inside, the corpses’ eyes were wide open as they relentlessly shot, massacring their remaining comrades.

Even though these gang members were some of the most ruthless men in all of Colombia, they were now utterly terrified.

After all, the bizarre and terrifying sight would make anyone’s legs turn to jelly.

RAT-TAT-TAT...

BOOM!

CLICK-CLACK...

Gunfire and explosions echoed throughout the villa complex. Not counting the men encased in Metal Armor, more than half of the remaining hundred-plus gang members were already dead.

Finally, seeing the armored corpses continuing their rampage, one of the men broke. With a terrified scream, he threw down his gun and bolted for the parking lot outside.

They just wanted to get out of there!

Soon, another man shouted and ran after him.

At the same time, the guns held by the armored corpses made a "CLICK-CLACK" sound; they were clearly out of ammunition.

Then, as Martin Benitez watched in terror, the corpses in their Metal Armor shot out of the villa like a pack of wild beasts, chasing after the fleeing men.

The room was surrounded by large, floor-to-ceiling windows, giving them a clear view of what was happening outside.

He watched with his own eyes as an armored corpse caught up to one of his fleeing subordinates and, using its dead hands, twisted the man’s head clean off his shoulders.

He also saw another of his men get ripped in half by one of the armored corpses.

What horrified him most was that the corpses inside the armor had been his loyal subordinates only a few minutes ago.

The scene was utterly beyond his comprehension.

"Oh, God... Jesus Christ... Xipe Totec..." Martin Benitez muttered, his body trembling. Shen Feng’s grip was still tight around his neck.

Shen Feng raised an eyebrow. ’Xipe Totec, the Aztec God of Blood. I didn’t expect this gangster to be so cultured, worshiping a Divine Spirit from an ancient civilization.’

At first, the screams from outside were horrific, mixed with gunshots and explosions, but they soon fell silent.

After one final, piercing scream, everything went quiet.

Soon, the dozen corpses controlled by the Nanomechanical Armor walked back inside, each one carrying several heads.

THUD... THUD...

The heads were tossed onto the floor, rolling to a stop at Martin Benitez’s feet.

Staring at the severed heads of the men who had been so deferential just moments before, Martin Benitez felt a chill run up his spine.

To his even greater terror, the armor plating on the dozen or so corpses suddenly retracted. The bodies within, shot to pieces and looking like heaps of mangled flesh, immediately collapsed to the floor.

The Metal Armor dissolved into pools of silver-gray liquid, which then flowed into the ground like a receding tide, leaving nothing behind.

All that remained at the scene were over a hundred corpses and guns with empty magazines.

No matter how one looked at it, it appeared as though the men had killed each other in a massive firefight. Only he knew the true horror of what had just transpired.

But what filled him with the most dread was that, from start to finish, the Asian hadn’t said a word. He hadn’t even made any demands.

Martin Benitez asked in a trembling voice:

"What... What do you want? Are you one of Ye Zhenli’s Eastern Mages? The original three-hundred-million debt... I’ll double it! No, I’ll pay it back tenfold!"

The Asian before him clicked his tongue and said:

"It was my money to begin with. All this talk of ’repaying’ it makes us sound like strangers... Speaking of which, when did the Purification Society get into the drug business? Or has this always been part of your operation? After all, Hypnosis and brainwashing often go hand-in-hand with hallucinogens and other psychedelics."

Hearing the name "Purification Society," Martin Benitez’s pupils dilated for a fraction of a second, but he quickly regained his composure and said in a wavering voice:

"Purification Society? What’s that? Is that Ye Zhenli’s organization? If you’ll have me, I’ll join the Purification Society. I’ll be one of you, just let me live! I know the entire criminal network in Colombia. Keeping me alive is far more valuable than killing me!"

Shen Feng nodded in affirmation.

"Not bad. Your composure is much better than the last few Purifiers I met. Still trying to hide information about the Purification Society, even now. Very impressive."

Then, he started dragging Martin Benitez outside like a dead dog.

Martin Benitez felt the man’s hand was like an iron clamp; there was no breaking free. He could only let himself be dragged across the floor, his eyes wide with terror.

He had no idea what this mysterious madman who had appeared out of nowhere was going to do.

Soon, the man had dragged him to the riverbank.

They went a little further and came to a bend in the river. A dozen hippos were there, leisurely playing, bathing, and munching on water reeds.

Shen Feng lifted Martin Benitez as if he were a bundle of straw, took aim at the herd of hippos, and said with a wide grin:

"So, what’s it going to be? Do you want to be torn to pieces by the hippos, or are you going to tell me where Cthulhu is?"
