True Apocalypse Game

Chapter 278 263: The Truth of the Cosmos

Each of the giant organisms formed by the fusion of five Symbiotes was as massive as a small mountain, but they were completely dwarfed by the Transfer Tower.

With his previous experience controlling the Gray Tide against the zombie tide in the Tokyo Epidemic Zone, Shen Feng naturally wasn't too concerned.

He was waiting for an opportunity, for the right moment.

A chance to get close to the Transfer Tower and establish a signal connection.

His investigation of this Doomsday World was mostly complete. Now, he just needed to add the most important piece of the puzzle. Then, his mission would be largely finished, and he could choose to end it and return to his own world at any time.

This final piece of the puzzle was the Transfer Tower and that "Destructive of the World," Shen Feng.

ROAR—

BOOM!

SWOOSH—

A series of roars and rumbles echoed as the five Symbiotes—three giants wielding weapons and two monsters with sharp claws and fangs—frenziedly attacked the base of the Transfer Tower.

Even with their immense forms, they were nothing before the Transfer Tower.

But if they could just break and topple the Transfer Tower, they could escape its mental suppression and control!

The Transfer Tower cracked open more gaping maws, each lined with rows of sharp teeth. It spat out long, thorny tentacles that whipped toward the five Symbiotes.

At the same time, thick arms even extended from the center of the Transfer Tower, reaching down in an attempt to grab the enormous Symbiotes.

The Hannibal Symbiote was silent, relentlessly swinging its Bone Saber to hack off chunks of flesh from the Transfer Tower.

The other Symbiotes followed suit, either tearing with their teeth or hacking with their weapons, severing the Transfer Tower's tentacles and arms one by one.

Huge chunks of flesh fell from above, kicking up dust as they hit the ground, but no blood flowed out.

The Transfer Tower was immense and had many tentacles, but it was far less agile than the Symbiotes. As a result, it was completely suppressed at the beginning, only able to constantly extend new tentacles and limbs.

The Symbiotes were fired up and excited, continuously attacking the same spot on the Transfer Tower, trying to break and destroy it completely.

However, the situation gradually began to reverse. The severed pieces of flesh that had fallen to the ground sprouted new tentacles and fleshy buds, re-merging with the Transfer Tower.

And although a massive wound had appeared where the Transfer Tower was being attacked, it was healing and fusing back together at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Even after attacking for so long, the Symbiotes had only managed to open a single gash. They couldn't press any deeper, let alone sever the tower.

The Symbiotes now realized this as well, and looks of despair appeared on all of them.

Although they had known how powerful the Transfer Tower was and hadn't held out much hope, they were only now discovering that their efforts were utterly futile. It wasn't just difficult; it was completely hopeless!

Even though they were at the top of the food chain in Mexico City, the most powerful beings, they were like common zombies before the Transfer Tower!

A cunning light glinted in the Hannibal Symbiote's newly formed giant eyes, as if it were calculating whether it should leave immediately.

Bravery and passion were built on the premise of certain victory. When defeat became inevitable, one's own life naturally became the highest priority.

Even if it only meant living for a few more days.

The attacks of the other Symbiotes were no longer as fierce as before. As powerful beings possessing the knowledge and experience from tens of thousands of fragmented zombie brains, they naturally possessed more cunning.

'Perhaps it's time to retreat.'

Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently. In the next instant, giant tentacles, each over ten meters thick, burst from the earth, forming a massive net that swept toward the Symbiotes at the tower's base!

In a way, the Transfer Tower was more like a tree, and these giant tentacles were its "roots" hidden underground—far more massive than the part visible above the surface!

The five Symbiotes immediately began to hack and slash wildly, trying to sever the giant tentacles and break free. But there were simply too many of them, and in the blink of an eye, the Symbiotes were completely trapped, unable to escape!

The heads of the five largest tentacles suddenly opened into gaping maws, revealing rings of sharp teeth like a lamprey's. They bit down on the Symbiotes' limbs and began to devour them!

The Hannibal Symbiote's legs and lower body were completely swallowed. It desperately swung its Bone Saber to sever the tentacle, but another one immediately wrapped around its arm, and even the Bone Saber was snatched away.

In the blink of an eye, all five of the great Symbiotes, including the Red Symbiote, were tightly bound.

Even though they resisted with all their might, they could only delay the moment of being devoured. They were completely unable to break free, forced to watch as they were absorbed bit by bit!

At the same time, the Transfer Tower trembled again and suddenly released an even more powerful, chaotic, and terrifying Consciousness Field, suppressing the Consciousness Fields of the five Symbiotes!

'Now's the time!'

Having waited for this moment, Shen Feng downed the wine in his cup, ensuring his biological brain was anesthetized by the alcohol. His body rapidly transformed into its stone gargoyle combat form, muscles bulging. He leaped from the window, rolled upon landing, and sprinted toward the Transfer Tower!

At this moment, he could only rely on his own body. Before these behemoths, he was like an insect. But being small had its advantages—he wouldn't attract their attention.

The Transfer Tower's vast and chaotic Consciousness Field now completely enveloped the five Symbiotes, suppressing their own fields to the point that their bodies began to show signs of collapse.

The five Symbiotes roared in despair, struggling desperately, but it was all in vain.

Just then, the Hannibal Symbiote roared:

"Red, Daimon, Penny, Stuart! Merge your Consciousness Fields with mine! Fuse our bodies together! Let's become one Symbiote!"

The remaining four Symbiotes looked at each other, understanding this was their last resort.

As Symbiotes, they were all too familiar with the process of consciousness stripping and fusion.

But they also understood that after the five Symbiotes merged, the surviving consciousness would likely not be their own, but one of the others.

It all depended on their individual strength, as well as on luck.

In other words, after fusing, there was a one-in-five chance for one's own consciousness to survive and then use that greater power to escape.

But if they didn't fuse, they would all die together, with no chance of survival whatsoever!

Then, the Consciousness Fields of the five Symbiotes began to resonate. The zombie brains that composed their very beings started to attune their signals, initiating the consciousness fusion!

As the Hannibal Symbiote gradually adjusted the frequency of its Consciousness Field to merge with the other four Symbiotes, it vaguely saw a figure rush from the distance to the base of the Transfer Tower.

The figure looked somewhat familiar, like one of the zombies that had formed its body.

But this person was clearly not a zombie, but a human.

For an instant, the feeling of having fallen into a conspiracy rose from the depths of the Hannibal Symbiote's consciousness, only to be quickly overwhelmed by the fusion with the other Symbiotes' minds.

It no longer mattered to it.

Amidst this epic battle, the appearance of a single human drew no attention at all. Even the thinnest of the tentacles were seven or eight meters in diameter.

To Shen Feng, they were like giant trees, and he could easily move between them.

Finally, he reached one of the Transfer Tower's roots that was plunged into the ground.

This root, also formed from the fused flesh of zombies, was about five meters in diameter and buried deep in the earth.

Expressionless, Shen Feng placed his palm on the root, trying to sense the consciousness fluctuations within.

There was still only that chaotic Consciousness Field, which he couldn't merge with. It gave no reaction.

He then pondered for a few seconds before swiftly using his dagger to cut an opening in the massive root large enough for a person to enter. He then forced his way inside.

His petrified body ensured he wouldn't be directly assimilated by the Transfer Tower. Shen Feng took out the brainwave diffusion device from his original world and placed it on his head.

He then fully released the brainwaves of his Silicon-Based Brain and began to capture the Transfer Tower's Consciousness Field.

Though called a Consciousness Field, it was actually more like a form of information transmission and reception.

Shen Feng closed his eyes, allowing his consciousness to drift along and align with the Transfer Tower's Consciousness Field.

The process went exceptionally smoothly, as if the Transfer Tower had been born for him. It quickly granted his Consciousness Field all sorts of permissions.

Soon, he had mastered the Transfer Tower's various methods of information reception and transmission and arrived at the core of its Consciousness Field.

'Merge.'

In the next instant, countless pieces of information from the endless starry sky and the Cosmos flooded into his mind like an ocean!

This was the truth of the Cosmos, the Truth of reality!
