Chapter 325 - 190: You Are Still Alive, Emperor.

He was completely unaware that several people had just witnessed his performance.

The Dragon Guides who turned back to see the scene scrambled away, stumbling over themselves as they muttered, "So that’s a Golden Dragon Guide... he’s that powerful."

’Or do you have to be this strong to become a Golden Dragon Guide?’

It wasn’t just the other Dragon Guides. Even Jose’s and Tune’s personal Silver Dragon Guides, after witnessing the incidents with the Thunder Wolf Dragon Beast and the Dragon Gate, were once again lost in a brief daze.

’This Master Jack... could he actually be a Golden Dragon Guide?’

’If that’s true...’

The two of them recalled the day the Trial began, when they had tried to bribe Master Jack with a check for one hundred thousand pounds. They were lucky the band Black Panther already existed; otherwise, they could have gone to China, formed their own group, and performed a cover of "No Place to Hide."

Jose and Tune were already frustrated, and seeing Master Jack’s performance only made them feel more stifled and sullen.

’Thankfully, I already have a Third Generation Dragon Scale and have completed the Dragon Spear Baptism. I should be in the lead right now. All I have to do is maintain it. No, I still have to watch out for Tune,’ Jose thought.

’I now have a total of four Fourth Generation Dragon Scales, including the ones I got from calling in favors. I’ve long been ready for the Dragon Spear Baptism. Even if I’m not in the lead, I must be close. As long as I don’t fall behind my elder sister, it’s fine. But for now, Jose is still my main rival,’ Tune thought.

But for now, escaping was the top priority.

The Dragons’ battle was cataclysmic. The Ice Scale Dragon and the Electric Dragon had met head-on, and the resulting aftershocks had completely annihilated the area where Isabella, Gold, and the others had been fighting. All that remained was a lifeless wasteland of thunder and ice.

Everywhere they passed, they carved deep furrows into the earth, leaving behind trails of crackling lightning and frigid air!

As for Adam Van Helsing—the Demon Hunter who had been clamoring to propose to the Beowulf Family—Gold and the others assumed that since he’d been at the epicenter of the battle, he wasn’t just missing in action. He was most likely so dead that not even dust remained.

The battle raged on. High above, the thunderbolts and Ice Spikes summoned by the Dragons continued to rain down, but they splashed sprays of blood, not water.

What really pissed off the Trial Takers was that, whether intentionally or not, the two Dragons seemed to be following their escape route.

The Trial Takers and Dragon Guides would barely run a few miles before the Giant Dragons, with a few casual bites, grapples, and a chaotic flurry of abilities, would instantly appear right behind them.

On top of that, the Dragon Mighty of a single Third Generation Species was enough to slow the flow of Spiritual Power in an Old Race’s body. With two of them, the effect was compounded. Some of the physically weaker Wizards, who barely had the strength to truss a chicken, were instantly reduced to the state of Baron’s old college roommates, who would get dizzy just from standing up too fast.

Even Roy, a Contract Knight, and the elite descendants of Dragon Slayer Clans like Jose and Tune found it difficult to withstand.

......

"Watch out!"

Baron sidestepped and shattered an Ice Spike with his spear, moving to dodge an incoming thunderbolt. But Isabella suddenly yanked his arm, pulling him out of the way and taking his place. The bolt of lightning crashed down directly on her.

Thanks to Isabella’s pull, an ice crystal scraped past Baron’s Face Armor, nearly exposing the handsome face underneath—a face that rivaled Jose’s and was the subject of many a Law Enforcer’s daydreams.

In that critical moment, Baron wrapped an arm around Isabella’s waist, holding her strong, curvaceous body tight as he rolled away from the lightning’s path.

Scrambling to his feet, Baron turned and glared at Isabella. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"

Isabella stared at him for a moment. For once, her sharp, almond-shaped eyes held a rare hint of softness, and an uncharacteristic expression crossed her face. But in the end, all she said was a quiet, "Yeah."

Baron didn’t say anything else. He retracted the hand that, in his haste, had landed on her chest.

’Thank God I’m quick-witted. Having dated a few girls in my past life taught me how to get out of situations like this. If I’d been half a second slower, I might not have been impaled by lightning or an Ice Spike, but I definitely would’ve had a gaping hole punched through my chest by Isabella’s Red Spear.’ He let out a silent sigh of relief.

"ROAR!"

Just then, both Dragons let out a simultaneous roar that seemed to shake the entire Dracul Mountain Range. The battle was apparently reaching its end. The inky black clouds that had obscured the sky began to thin.

A sharp, piercing cry echoed out. The relentless hail of ice ceased, leaving only the falling thunderbolts.

The Electric Dragon had actually ripped one of the wings clean off the Ice Scale Dragon!

Blood sprayed across the ravaged earth, instantly freezing into crimson crystals where it landed.

Fluorescent light began to glow from the Ice Scale Dragon’s Scale Armor, which was said to be harder than thousand-year-old glacial ice. A terrifying energy was gathering within its body.

The Electric Dragon sensed this terrifying energy. It tossed the severed wing aside and let out a provocative roar. The Ice Scale Dragon gave an unwilling growl in response, then transformed into a streak of cold light and fled.

And with that, the war between the Giant Dragons came to a close.

The victor was clearly the Electric Dragon, which now stood in a deep crater, bathed in blood and wreathed in lightning.

The Trial Takers, who had fled to a safe distance, figured the victor wouldn’t pursue them. As they were both Third Generation Species, the Ice Scale Dragon’s wing would be a great restorative for the Electric Dragon. The casualties along the battle’s path had been devastating.

A battle of this magnitude would normally trigger a Dragon Tide, or even a Dragon Calamity. But any Dragon Tide that might have formed had been caught in the crossfire between the two Third Generation Species, its members becoming just more corpses to be pierced by Ice Spikes and lightning.

The Trial Takers stopped in their tracks. Still shaken, they watched to see what the Electric Dragon would do next, hoping for a chance to collect Dragon Scales.

But the Electric Dragon gave them no such chance. The moment the Ice Scale Dragon was gone, it transformed into a streak of lightning and shot toward the Trial Takers without a hint of hesitation!

It was so fast that the pupils of Jose and the others instantly dilated in shock!

Its speed was on a completely different level from the Fierce Dragon or the Ice Scale Dragon!

In just a few heartbeats, the miles-long lead the Trial Takers and Dragon Guides had built was erased in an instant!

The rain that had been gathering in the dark clouds finally began to fall, a torrential downpour.

Amidst the downpour, the Electric Dragon let out a vast, ancient-sounding roar. At such close range, everyone felt as if they’d been struck hard on the head. Their vision swam, and stars exploded behind their eyes.

Some of the weaker Trial Takers even started bleeding from their mouths and noses.

The Dragon Guides, however, were mostly fine. They had come prepared and were wearing special earplugs. Professionals, after all, do a professional job.

Jose, Roy, and Dewey Gold exchanged glances with a few other Bronze Tier Law Enforcers who were least affected. They all nodded.

...

The Electric Dragon let out a low growl and spat a cloud of sparks. The group’s bodies instantly stiffened, paralyzed.

They had forgotten it was raining, and rain conducts electricity.

But after doing this, the Electric Dragon didn’t attack. Its massive Dragon Eyes swept over the crowd like searchlights, as if searching for a specific person or thing.

Paralyzed by the lightning, Jose and the others felt an indescribable fear rise within them under the Dragon’s oppressive gaze.

They felt like sheep in a pen, waiting for the Dragon to slaughter them.

’The Inner Side is such a bizarre place, but it still follows the laws of science. It’s too much... Wait, when did my Red Dragon Aura disappear? No wonder I ran into a few Dragon Descendants this morning, which is rare... No, that’s not the point. The point is I need to turn the damn thing back on *now*.’

Baron, hiding behind a large rock nearby, was still lost in his thoughts when Isabella, who had been resting beside him, suddenly drank the vial of Dragon Blood. It was as if something deep within her had awakened.

Her deep blue eyes instantly turned golden-yellow. Deep purple Dragon Scales spread to cover nearly her entire body, clicking into place with a crisp, ringing sound. An aura so terrifying that even Baron felt a chill emanated from her.

It was the [Dragon Mighty] of the Beowulf Dragon Slayer Clan’s bloodline.

"What are you doing?" Baron asked, though he immediately felt it was a stupid question.

"I just so happen to need a Third Generation Dragon Scale."

With that, Isabella snatched the Red Spear from his hand and leaped out into the open.

She stood atop the rock, facing the Electric Dragon. Sensing her Dragon Mighty, the Dragon had turned and appeared before her in a flash. Unafraid of its colossal Dragon Body, she told it, "Die."

She leaped, shattering the rock beneath her feet. Gripping the Red Spear, now infused with Spiritual Power and pulsating with red light, she thrust it toward the Electric Dragon.

The Electric Dragon made no move to dodge the incoming spear, which streaked toward it like a crimson comet. Its eyes were wide, fixed on the spot where the rock had shattered. For just an instant, it had seen a flash of a Golden Eye behind a "White Mask."

It opened its mouth, its voice rumbling, "How are you still alive...?"

The crimson spear plunged into the space between its eyes.

"Emperor."

The Dragon’s body crashed to the ground.
