Reincarnated as a Half-God with SSS Abilities

Chapter 182 - 2.62 Nostalgia

"So Diana, how are you adjusting to this very large change in your life with this rather large new group of extended family members? I remember when Sora first asked me and I had to think about it. I’m glad I had Sasha and she trusted me. It’s funny, we were just five of us for a long time!"

"Did you trust Sora right away? Wasn’t he already the most famous person on Exteria when you met?"

Brie smiled. "He was, but he was so apologetic and so sincere. He was genuinely concerned for my best interest and Sasha’s as well. He was just a little awkward because he didn’t have much of a social life growing up. Did Xander tell you he basically grew up in Paradise?"

"He did. Isn’t that just a bunch of God’s goddesses and resting souls? He didn’t have anyone to play with or anything growing up, did he?" Diana frowned.

"He had his family, the dragon kids and Skylar. But yes, I think it was hard for him sometimes. He’s exactly like his dad in that way," Brie smiled.

"But his dad was really famous. Didn’t he know everybody? He was on the council at a young age too!"

Brie laughed and hugged Diana.

"He grew up with tutors, trainers, the King and Luna once in a while. Brie said.

Silver tear drops started forming from her eyes and she hugged Diana. "She gave her life to save mine."

"I know that must’ve been really hard to see her in Paradise?"

Bree wiped her tears, still hugging Diana. She pulled away and smiled again.

"It’s hard to believe this, but it was honestly better for all of us I think, except for the party of course. For them it still hasn’t been very long. We had years to spend with her and she was always so happy and grateful that Sora found me and her and her brother broke away from their pack," tears formulating in her eyes again as she spoke.

"I’m really sorry Brie. I didn’t mean to make you sad, especially on your best friend’s wedding day."

"It’s not your fault and if Xander were here he’d tell you it’s not just sadness. Luna saved the world. Sora always knows his risks. That’s how we honor her and remember her. I think she loved him, so for her to join our party and be so kind." Brie finally was bawling.

Diana hugged her tightly. "It’s ok Brie. It must be hard. I wanted to ask you what it feels like to love someone but I think I know a little bit better now."

Brie chuckled while crying. "Being in love with someone is a lot different than loving someone."

Brie started wiping her tears away again. "Sorry, just an emotional day. I remember it clearly: Sora said "I love you," to me and I couldn’t say it back. I told him I adored him with my entire heart and I was sorry if that wasn’t the response he wanted."

"I bet he was sad..."

"Nope!" Brie exclaimed, finally smiling again.

"He lit up with excitement and said why are you sorry? That makes me so happy. I never told him this, but I wanted to say I love you right after that, but it just didn’t feel right. He was so genuine, so happy and couldn’t understand why I was apologizing."

"Wow! I don’t understand how your family can be this freaking amazingly perfect. Everyone in the party is amazing. It’s like a giant group of great people and gods."

"And you’re a part of it!" Brie said, playfully booping her nose. "So you think you love Xander?"

"Yes, but I’m worried that if I say it and he sees my head isn’t pink, he will be upset. Please don’t tell him this, but when your family returned from Paradise I had a vision about me telling a blonde haired boy with gold eyes I love you but that’s all I could see. It was during a wedding with a bunch of people who I didn’t really recognize then."

"Awwww! That’s so cute. I’m sure Xander is talking to Sora about being confused and not understanding what love means. If you feel like saying it, say it! I’m pretty close with my son, you know." Brie joked.

"I don’t think there’s a God or goddess who has ever existed that has more abilities than he does. It’s a blessing and a curse but I know for a fact, he would never be upset with you for saying that. He’s much too kind for that and don’t forget who his father’s mother is."

"Did you ever think about that when you were getting to know him and started dating and stuff– Granted you were both adults and we’re just high school kids."

"Of course I did! It’s hard not to question if me knocking his mask off was just something that was meant to be because of Aphrodite." Brie smiled.

"But I always realized the rule in Paradise is that unless you have Athena’s blessing, you can’t interfere with any Universe or their people. It has to flow naturally and Aphrodite told me herself it had nothing to do with her."

"Aw. That’s sweet. It was very nice of Xander to help me meet Athena and get the block regarding him on my ability. I don’t want to see it before it happens!"

"Trust me, I was so relieved it wasn’t some fate thing and it was Sora being interested in me and us spending so much time together helped. Xander loves you, I can see it in your eyes so just enjoy your first love knowing that even if you two don’t last forever, there’s someone amazing out there for you."

"Well, that’s the thing. Rissa and Julius got married when they were in high school and they’re so happy together. You and Sora got married so quickly, Ignis and Leila... do you want me to keep going?" Diana laughed.

"OH! I see why you two are so worried now. You’re worried that because you’re young, if the break up isn’t a good break up it would affect the party and the bonds within it. Don’t worry about that sweetie. Don’t forget about Levi and Sasha! Sasha’s been with me since the morning I met Sora and we met Levi right away. They’re finally just now getting married."

"Good point. Ok, thank you Brie. I’m sorry I made you sad but I really appreciate this. I think I’m going to go talk to Xander."

"Ok, we won’t tease you two right now, I promise."

"Thanks... I appreciate it!" Diana stood up and ran to hug Brie, then called her parents.

"Hey mom, hey dad. Can I tell you something?"

"Sure kiddo, what’s up?"

"I think I love Xander."

"Aw, that’s great! How does he feel? Did you tell him?" Her mom asked.

"Not yet but I’m going too and I’m not going with the stupid vision I saw where it was at that wedding I told you about. I know I am today and I talked to Brie. If he doesn’t say I love you back, as long as he says he cares about me significantly, that’s all that matters."

"Sounds like you got some great advice kiddo! We’ll see you later for the wedding, ok?"

"Ok! Love you mom and dad thank you."

As she hung up, she heard the popping sound of one of Xander’s portals opening.

"Hey! What’s up, good looking!" Xander said with a big smile.

"Not much there Mr. Handsome. What do you want to do before the wedding? We don’t have to leave for a few hours."

"I was thinking we could go for a walk!" Xander said while reaching for her hand.

"Sure, I’d like that!"

They two walked hand in hand out back smiling while Sora walked in and hugged his wife.

"Well, looks like our little man’s had his heart stolen from him," Sora said.

"Yup, and I’m glad my heart was stolen by you. I kind of adore you, you know."

"I appreciate that more than you’ll ever know, beautiful."

"So about that bad god thing..." Brie winked.

"I’ve been very bad." Sora said while teleporting her to their bedroom. They still had plenty of time before the wedding.
