Jiang Si figured that while it was happily eating here, they could just sneak away.

Besides, she needed to hurry and find the others.

Jiang Si materialized an SUV and a truck, motioning for everyone to get in so they could make a quick getaway.

The snow wolf also leaped onto the roof of their SUV.

They had just driven off when the Mammoth, which had been grazing, keenly sensed the movement and began to leisurely follow them.

When Jiang Si’s group sped up, the Mammoth sped up too, showing no signs of trying to find its own herd.

Jiang Si was getting a real headache. "It’s latched onto us. What do we do?"

If it were just an ordinary elephant, she might have taken it in, but this was a Mammoth. She couldn’t afford to feed it.

And if its presence attracted even more Mammoths, she *really* wouldn’t be able to afford it.

Jiang Linhai said, "It’s powerful, so let it follow for now. Once your black hole teleportation is more stable, you can just shake it then."

Jiang Si thought that was a decent plan, so she let the Mammoth continue to follow.

Qin Shen drove while Jiang Si sat in the car, continuing to use her control power to search for nearby superpower users.

Suddenly, she detected a superpower user. As she entered their consciousness, she prayed, ’Please let it be Bo Xi and the others.’

But she was disappointed. It was a superpower user she didn’t recognize.

He seemed to be living a pretty decent life for himself.

He had built a shelter out of branches, and on the ground nearby was a giant radish plant.

Radish soup was bubbling away in a small pot.

Jiang Si used his perspective to survey the area, hoping to find any sign of Shen Baoying’s group.

But instead of finding any sign of Shen Baoying’s group, she saw a dozen or so men brandishing weapons and heading straight for him.

This ambush had clearly been planned for some time.

Jiang Si’s first instinct was to use this man’s superpower to take them all down.

To her surprise, however, she discovered that this guy’s power was to make the radish plant in front of him grow faster.

In the blink of an eye, the radish grew visibly larger.

’Heavens, with a power like that,’ she thought, ’if he joined us, would we ever have to worry about food again?’

Jiang Si immediately decided she wanted to invite this superpower user to be her teammate.

But she also quickly discovered that aside from making this one radish plant grow faster, the superpower user seemed to have no other skills whatsoever. His Combat Power was pathetic.

Jiang Si sighed. ’Good thing I’m here,’ she thought, ’otherwise he’d be in big trouble.’

Watching the dozen or so men about to charge, Jiang Si struck first. She grabbed a handful of snow, packed it into a ball, and threw it, hitting one of the attackers. With a nimble movement, she snatched the steel pipe from his hands. Then, in rapid succession, she struck each man on the back of the neck with the pipe, and they immediately collapsed.

Dusting her hands off, Jiang Si delivered a final blow to each of them just to be sure.

With the danger dealt with, she left a message in the snow and released her control. Then, based on the location she had memorized, she told Qin Shen to change course and head there.

The superpower user wasn’t far away. After about an hour of driving, Jiang Si’s black hole teleport was ready to be used again, but she opted not to.

In truth, using the black hole teleport consumed a comparable amount of energy to controlling someone’s consciousness.

When Jiang Si found Zhang Bosheng, he was shivering at the sight of the bodies that had suddenly appeared around him. He was also completely baffled by the apologetic message written in the snow.

The earth-shaking tremors from the approaching Mammoth terrified him, and he desperately looked for a place to hide but found nowhere to go. It wasn’t until Jiang Si’s SUV and the truck full of people came into view that Zhang Bosheng completely gave up any thought of escape.

Resigned to his fate, Zhang Bosheng waited for Jiang Si’s group to approach, though he was still afraid of what they might do to him.

Jiang Si, however, was very direct. She extended a hand and said, "Sorry about controlling you just now. I helped you take care of a little trouble. Would you be willing to join us as a teammate? We could really use your power."

’Jiang Si can control people!’

’And she admitted it so brazenly!’

As they were both of Asian descent, Zhang Bosheng found himself having a favorable impression of Jiang Si’s straightforwardness.

Besides, he desperately wanted a companion.

He even felt a sense of kinship upon seeing the octopus-bodied Jiang Linhai. He nodded. "I’d be happy to be your teammate. If there’s any way I can be of use, I’ll definitely do my best to help."

Jiang Si nodded happily, then pointed to the Mammoth behind them. "It eats way too much," she said, "and it insists on following us. We’re afraid we can’t afford to feed it."

Zhang Bosheng understood. He hesitated before replying, "At most, I can only make two large radishes grow at a time. I’m afraid that won’t be enough to feed it, either."

’Two radishes is a bit low,’ Jiang Si thought. ’But if Zhang Bosheng’s power level can be increased, maybe his output can be increased as well.’
