Apocalypse Hoarder: I Have Billions in Supplies

Chapter 247 - 224: Giant 2

Jiang Linhai watched Hayden tear a chunk from a roof, ready to attack. He turned to Jiang Si. "Sisi, what should we do?"

Jiang Si shook her head. "Don’t worry."

The Barrier was rock solid.

Hayden slammed the piece of roof down, but the Barrier Space blocked it perfectly. As everyone watched the dust cloud from the pulverized debris, a shiver of fear ran down their spines.

If it weren’t for the Barrier Space, they would’ve been killed yet again.

The Barrier Space even had a function that automatically cleared away dust. A moment later, the clouded space became clear again, as if there were no protective shield at all. Only by reaching out a hand could one feel the invisible force protecting them.

Hayden was utterly stunned. ’What in the world is going on?’

’Why is something so strange happening?’

Little did he know that his own appearance—a giant with a ferocious, eye-popping glare—was the strangest thing of all.

He cautiously crouched down and peered at the people inside the Space Barrier. Discovering they weren’t zombies, his spirits lifted. "How were you all unharmed just now?" They had even been floating in midair, like immortals.

Jiang Si didn’t answer. With a flick of her finger, everyone landed on the ground.

With another point of her finger, a transport truck appeared. Everyone scrambled aboard, ready to follow Jiang Si out of there.

Having finally encountered people who were not only alive but also possessed such powers and didn’t seem malicious, Hayden grew anxious. "I didn’t mean to do that!" he blurted out. "I thought you were zombies! Can my family and friends come with you?"

Jiang Si stared at Hayden, her expression hesitant.

Hayden quickly added, "I’ll protect you, too!"

’I’m already supporting plenty of useless mouths,’ Jiang Si thought. ’If another group joins, I’m afraid I won’t be able to provide for them.’

After all, the crops in her space grew at the same rate as in the outside world.

Jiang Si thought it over and decided against it. ’Hayden is huge; he’s more than capable of protecting his own people.’

Jiang Si waved her hand, signaling for everyone to keep moving.

Hayden grew frantic. "Hey, wait up!"

He watched Jiang Si’s group leave. This wasn’t a place they could stay for long, either.

Hayden reached his hand down to the people below. "Quick, jump on!"

After jumping into Hayden’s palm, his mother, Xia Li, asked in confusion, "What’s going on? Why are we leaving?"

They still had some food down there.

Hayden jerked his chin toward Jiang Si’s group ahead. "They have some amazing thing that creates a safe bubble around them. Zombies can’t get near it. If we could get inside, we’d be safe."

Xia Li’s eyes lit up, but then she said, crestfallen, "So they aren’t willing to take us in?"

Hayden said optimistically, "I’m very big. If I help them, they should let us stay, right?"

Xia Li clasped her hands together. "Let’s hope so."

Her other children also began to pray. "God, please protect us."

As for the others, they wished they could sprout wings and chase after the group themselves.

With their underground food supply visibly dwindling, everyone had been growing anxious and harboring their own selfish motives. Hayden’s sudden transformation had been their only spark of hope.

Now, after hearing what Hayden had said, they struggled to contain their excitement.

’Whether or not we can survive might just depend on whether we can latch onto this powerful group.’

Hayden was massive. In just a few steps, he caught up to Jiang Si’s group.

But he found himself blocked by something inexplicable.

No matter how fast he chased, he remained several hundred meters away from them.

Hayden trudged along behind them, shouting, "Can you please, please take us in? I can shrink down! I won’t eat much! I’m begging you!"

The people in Hayden’s palm also cried out in unison, "We’re begging you!"

Hayden’s superpower would actually be very useful, Jiang Si mused. ’He could clear the path ahead all by himself, saving me the trouble. He’s a bit slow, but he’s strong enough to fend off common enemies.’

Still, she couldn’t bring herself to trust people she hadn’t vetted. ’For now, I’ll just have to observe their character.’

Besides, Qin Shen could monitor them at all times with his enhanced hearing and vision.

Jiang Si continued to ignore Hayden, leading her group toward the seaside military base.

Hayden followed without hesitation.

’Even if Jiang Si doesn’t take us in, we should be able to find something to eat by the coast,’ he thought. ’We haven’t had meat in so long. It would be amazing if we could catch some fish.’

Hayden was lost in his simple daydream.

As they neared the coast, a snowdrift blocked the road.

Hayden eagerly ran ahead to clear a path for Jiang Si’s group. But since he didn’t know which way she intended to go, he ended up clearing the wrong fork in the road. The people he was carrying were jostled about, making them feel sick.
