Chapter 221 - 215: Crack a Smile for Me
Most of the men were in the second-floor main hall, warming themselves by a fire. The rest were guarding the captives.
Jiang Si picked a good vantage point for an ambush. She suddenly stood up and unleashed a precise spray of bullets at the lounging men.
Most of them were hit. Just as they started to raise their guns, Jiang Si shot them again.
One of them, a bald man who looked the most ferocious, was surprisingly fast despite his large frame. He instantly flipped over a sofa and used it for cover.
The guards heard the commotion and rushed over in an instant.
Jiang Si calmly tossed a grenade. With a deafening BOOM, the sofa was blown to smithereens, and the area was filled with a thick, blinding cloud of dust.
Wearing night-vision goggles, Jiang Si could clearly see the other men charging at her. BANG— With a single gunshot, another man screamed and collapsed.
Jiang Si quickly repositioned and aimed at the bald man, who had somehow survived the explosion that obliterated the sofa.
The bald man stood up, staring fearlessly at Jiang Si.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning shot straight toward Jiang Si.
Jiang Si’s heart skipped a beat. She scrambled to the side, but her right hand was unavoidably struck, going numb instantly.
Jiang Si truly hadn’t expected to find another superpower user here.
She clutched her arm and ducked into a corner as another bolt of lightning struck.
No matter how skilled she was, facing a superpower user, her odds of survival were slim.
Jiang Si’s only option was to find a place to hide.
Just as she hunched down to take cover, the cruise ship suddenly tilted, causing the lightning bolt that was chasing her to strike the wall instead.
Jiang Si grabbed onto a doorframe and ducked into a room. The angle of the floor grew steeper and steeper, as if the cruise ship was about to capsize at any moment.
Jiang Si looked out the window and was instantly stunned by the scene before her.
Two enormous Blue Whales had suddenly surfaced, lifting the entire cruise ship with them.
The cruise ship tossed about like a rolling egg, and so did Jiang Si, her body pressed awkwardly against the wall.
’If this ship capsizes and I don’t deal with the superpower user,’ she thought, ’even if I’m lucky enough to survive the wreck, he’ll still kill me.’
Gritting her teeth, Jiang Si yanked the door open with one hand. She grabbed onto a wall-mounted light fixture and scanned the area, searching for any sign of the superpower user.
Soon, she spotted the bald man heading toward the lower decks, clearly intending to escape the ship.
Jiang Si took aim at the bald man’s head. She waited patiently, and at the exact moment the ship lurched violently again, she fired. BANG—a perfect headshot.
The bald man collapsed. Jiang Si let out a heavy sigh of relief. Just then, the woman who had sensed the danger and found her daughter also found Jiang Si.
She helped Jiang Si to her feet, and together they scrambled down the stairs.
Hearing a commotion from the room where the captives were held, Jiang Si shot off all the locks on their chains. "Go," she said.
A dozen or so people surged onto the deck. At that exact moment, the cruise ship was completely overturned.
Everyone was flung overboard.
No one could spare a hand for Jiang Si; she had to save herself with her one good arm.
Fortunately, she had managed to put on a life jacket, so she could stay afloat after hitting the water.
’If I land on the ice, I just need to protect my head and vital organs, and I should be fine.’
But with only one good arm, even with her experience in protecting herself during a fall, she still broke her other leg when she landed on the ice.
The excruciating pain paradoxically made Jiang Si’s mind even sharper.
She saw the bald man’s corpse floating in the water and instantly made a bold decision.
Jiang Si jumped into the sea, swam over, and struggled to push the bald man’s corpse out of the water and onto the ice.
Only then did she climb up herself.
The woman and her daughter had also survived.
When they saw Jiang Si, they subconsciously moved closer to her.
But soon, the mother and daughter were horrified by what Jiang Si did next.
Jiang Si actually used a shard of ice to crudely slice open the bald man’s stomach and began rummaging around inside with her hand.
After searching for a while, Jiang Si’s hand closed around something round inside the corpse’s stomach.
Gritting her teeth, Jiang Si swallowed the Superpower Stone.
’In my current state,’ she thought, ’I’ll definitely die if I can’t protect myself.’
She couldn’t afford to worry about the consequences of swallowing the Superpower Stone.
Soon, intense pain wracked Jiang Si’s entire body, and she passed out.
When she woke again, she found the woman taking care of her. The woman had salvaged some blankets from the overturned cruise ship and had wrapped her tightly in them.
The other survivors were gathered at the edge of the ice, trying to catch fish.
The woman’s daughter also managed to catch a fish. She happily ran over to Jiang Si, and upon seeing she was awake, immediately held the fish up to her mouth, urging her to eat.
Jiang Si was indeed starving; she felt like she hadn’t eaten in centuries.
She snatched the fish with one hand and began to devour it ravenously, not caring about the scales.
After eating the fish, Jiang Si finally regained enough strength to check her condition.
