Apocalypse Hoarder: I Have Billions in Supplies

Jiang Si fled.

She stomped down hard again, and the ground shook with the immense force of the blow.

Zhang Aihua emerged from the cave, leading Song Yufang and Zhang Yiwen. They nearly fell into a chasm, but fortunately, a barrier woven from vines caught them.

Clutching her husband and son for dear life, Song Yufang asked Zhang Aihua, "What’s going on? Is this an earthquake?"

Zhang Aihua had no idea why there would be an earthquake, but he didn’t think it was one. That ear-splitting roar from moments ago had clearly come from Jiang Si.

’This must be something even more terrifying than running into zombies.’

Zhang Aihua said, "Don’t panic. Stay calm. The only thing that matters is that our family is still alive."

Song Yufang then reminded him, "What about our backpacks?"

They held the emergency supplies she had prepared.

Zhang Aihua controlled the vines, which reached into the cave and retrieved the backpacks with perfect accuracy.

Jiang Si seemed hell-bent on destroying the world, her eyes completely unfocused.

Suddenly, Jiang Si ran toward the sea.

Qin Shen transformed into his original form to give chase. He had just caught up when Jiang Si landed a vicious kick, sending him flying into the cave hotel.

She showed no regard for their relationship, completely devoid of reason.

Qin Shen struggled weakly to his feet and spat out a mouthful of blood before collapsing again with a THUD.

If even the strongest of them, Qin Shen, couldn’t slow Jiang Si down in the slightest, Jiao Chunzi immediately commanded her zombies to block the way.

The zombies formed a circle around her, but with a lift of her hand, a television, a refrigerator, and a wardrobe tumbled out of her personal space, raining down and smashing into the horde.

These were all treasures Jiang Si had painstakingly collected. Now, she didn’t care about them at all, using them as casual ammunition against the zombies.

Shen Baoying was heartbroken. She ran after her, screaming, "Sisi! Sisi, don’t go!"

Jiang Si didn’t look back. She walked out over the sea, step by step, until she was hovering above the cracked surface of the ice.

Little Chun let out a sharp cry, as if to chase after her, but Jiang Linhai immediately grabbed it. "Don’t go! Not now!"

’Jiang Si would actually kill it. When she comes to her senses, I can’t imagine how much pain and regret she’ll feel.’

Jiang Si’s figure grew smaller over the surface of the sea, as if something, somewhere, was guiding her forward.

Jiang Linhai knew he had to go after Jiang Si. He turned to the others and said, "If you want to leave, you can go now."

’But Lu Zhifeng and Niu Niu already saw the Jiang family as their own. Besides, Jiang Si had risked absorbing the energy stones so that everyone could have a better chance at survival. How could they possibly leave!’

Lu Zhifeng said without a moment’s hesitation, "Let’s get Qin Shen onto the ship first. We’ll start up the Icebreaker and go after her."

Jiao Chunzi still had her daughter to think about; she would definitely stick with the group.

Bo Xi had nowhere to go and no will to live on his own. He might as well follow everyone after Jiang Si and start a new journey.

’If they didn’t take the troop of monkeys, they’d surely be bitten and turned into zombie monkeys.’

’They definitely had to take them.’

’And the moose could help carry supplies if the ship got stuck. They couldn’t be abandoned either.’

Jiang Linhai looked at everyone, moved. He turned to Bo Xi and Jiao Chunzi and said, "I’m counting on you, then."

"Mm."

Bo Xi summoned his bugs and Jiao Chunzi her zombies, commanding them to push the Icebreaker into the water.

Jiang Chengwu had been diligently studying medicine, just for a day like this when he might be needed.

But Qin Shen’s original form presented a major problem.

The diagnostic equipment couldn’t even penetrate his hide, and there were no visible external wounds.

He looked at the others and sighed. "We can only wait and see if he can pull through on his own."

Shen Baoying hugged Jiang Linhai and began to cry, grieving for Qin Shen and for Jiang Si.

’If Jiang Si knew she was the one who did this to Qin Shen, she would be absolutely heartbroken.’

The Icebreaker was slowly pushed into the sea. Everyone hurried to the bridge and took their positions.

Using his vines to get a higher vantage point, Zhang Aihua saw the Icebreaker on the ice, looking as if it was about to depart.

He then glanced at the countless, swarming zombies all around them.

He immediately made a bold decision: he would take his wife and child and chase after that ship.

’He had to join Jiang Si’s group.’

’Otherwise, staying here meant certain death.’

Zhang Aihua fashioned a chariot from his vines, scooped up Song Yufang and Zhang Yiwen along with as much luggage as they could manage, and prepared to leave. When Brother Qiu, Lao Er, and the others saw this, they immediately started shouting and begging, "President Zhang, take us with you! Please, take us with you!"

The others remained silent, their faces a mixture of pleading and resignation.

’If he refused to take them, they might choose to die right here, or they might try to follow him relentlessly.’

Zhang Aihua gritted his teeth and said, "I’m going after Jiang Si’s group. If they refuse to take you in, I’m washing my hands of it."

Brother Qiu and Lao Er were on the verge of tears. "We understand, President Zhang. If they won’t have us, we’ll accept our fate."

Under the protection of Zhang Aihua’s thorny vines, the group soon spotted the Icebreaker moving slowly across the ice.

The Icebreaker had to break through the ice, so its progress was slow. But the ice was also slippery, so they couldn’t run fast either. It took a great deal of effort, but they finally caught up.

Thankfully, the zombies were even less agile. On the ice, they were like turtles slipping and tumbling over themselves.

As Zhang Aihua’s group approached, everyone on board noticed them.

He was snapped out of it by the tearful cheers of his people.

They scrambled up onto the deck, and Shen Baoying began assigning them quarters.

The Icebreaker had served as quarters for its original crew and research teams, so there were plenty of rooms.

Everyone got their own bed or bunk.

Everyone was overjoyed, but the observant Zhang Aihua noticed that Jiang Linhai’s group seemed deeply saddened. And since coming aboard, he hadn’t seen Jiang Si or Qin Shen at all.

What’s more, there were many restricted areas on the ship that they were forbidden from entering.
