Apocalypse Hoarder: I Have Billions in Supplies

The brink of death can awaken a person’s greatest potential.

Jemir summoned a blizzard that formed a vortex, enveloping him completely. Like a giant drill, it bored through the snow wall, allowing him to break out and escape.

’He was the only one left. How could Jiang Si possibly let him get away so easily?’

He could create a vortex, couldn’t he? So Jiang Si had Little Chun toss a box of razor blades into it.

Immediately, Jemir’s piercing scream echoed across the sky.

He might have had a superpower, but he was still only made of flesh and blood.

Besides, he had overtaxed his body by excessively manipulating the energy stone. He was already weak and had no strength left to resist.

The blizzard subsided. He was covered in cuts from the blades and had even lost an eye, leaving him twitching feebly on the ground.

Qin Shen rushed over. BANG—

He finished Jemir off with a single, clean shot.

Jiang Si didn’t spare Kahill, either. The moment he opened his eyes, she deftly slit his throat.

The superpower users, thought to be a huge threat, were wiped out in an instant.

But the dangers of the apocalypse were far greater than these superpower users.

Jiang Si took out her radio and told everyone, "Hurry and finish packing. We’re leaving here soon!"

The monkey troop lined the four corpses up side by side.

They still had Superpower Stones inside their bodies.

After they died, if Jiang Si were to touch them, she would likely absorb their Superpower Stones directly.

So, following Jiang Si’s instructions, Qin Shen dug the Superpower Stones out of their bodies.

Each Superpower Stone was a different color.

This probably represented their attributes.

An idea suddenly struck Jiang Si. "If we give the Superpower Stones to Mom and Dad, will they get superpowers too?"

’If everyone had superpowers, they’d have more ways to protect themselves.’

’Take Jemir, for instance. He had Snow Control. Snow could be used to build walls to defend their area and temporarily keep the zombies out.’

’Maybe they wouldn’t have to leave after all.’

’If everyone had powerful abilities and wasn’t afraid of zombies, then why leave?!’

’They wouldn’t! They’d stay!’

Qin Shen nodded. "It should be possible, but we’ll have to see if the Superpower Stones are compatible with them."

"When a Superpower Stone enters a person’s body, there can be what you’d call a rejection reaction, which could cause physical harm."

Jiang Si thought for a moment. "Then let’s ask for everyone’s opinion."

There were four Superpower Stones in total: Wind Control, Snow Control, Fire Control, and the Invisibility Skill. Each was an incredibly useful ability.

Of course, the Invisibility only worked if you took off your clothes, which was a bit awkward for everyone involved.

Shen Baoying and the others had finished packing, unaware that a vicious battle had just taken place outside.

When they saw Jiang Si and Qin Shen arrive, they placed all their luggage on the ground.

Jiang Si would store all the items they considered precious safely in her space.

But when Qin Shen and Jiang Si walked in carrying a box, not looking at all like they were in a hurry to leave, it made everyone ask anxiously, "What happened? Are we not leaving?"

If they could avoid it, none of them wanted to leave.

After all, life at Hot Spring Bay was truly wonderful.

Growing radishes, soaking in the hot springs, catching fish, and occasionally even letting Little Chun and Big Yellow carry them for a spin—compared to other survivors, they were living the life of immortals.

Jiang Si looked at everyone, her expression serious as she opened the box. "Some superpower users just showed up. Qin Shen and I took care of them. These are the Superpower Stones from their bodies. They might be able to give you superpowers. Take a look and see if any of these powers are a good fit for you."

Looking at the four glowing orbs on the table, everyone suddenly felt like they were characters in a cultivation novel.

’This is just like choosing a Spirit Root! If we get more Superpower Stones, we could even enhance our abilities.’

Lu Zhifeng felt that neither he nor Niu Niu had the right to compete with Shen Baoying and her family for these powers, so he quietly pressed down on Niu Niu’s excited little hand.

Niu Niu understood her father’s stance, and her excited little face immediately drooped.

’She wanted the Invisibility Skill, just like Bobby.’

’Then Bobby could play hide-and-seek with her.’

Jiang Linhai was incredibly excited. He had often imagined having special abilities like Jiang Si and her friends, and he couldn’t believe such an opportunity was now right in front of him.

The temptation was too great.

Jiang Linhai unconsciously reached out, picked up the Fire Attribute Superpower Stone, and said, "So how do you tell if it’s a match? You don’t have to swallow this whole big thing, do you?"

Jiang Si smiled. "If it’s a match, it will automatically choose you as its host."

This brought a sigh of relief from everyone who was tempted but had been hesitant to snatch one up.

Jiang Linhai really liked the Fire Control ability. He imagined helping Shen Baoying when she cooked, or if the house needed repairs, he could act as a living welding torch.

’When the power was out, he could be a light for everyone.’

’Just thinking about it was so badass.’

But when he held the Fire Attribute Superpower Stone, it gave no reaction whatsoever.

Jiang Linhai had to give up in disappointment and picked up the Wind attribute Superpower Stone instead.

’This ability was great, too. He could soar on the wind—even more stylishly than Jiang Si riding Little Chun into the sky.’

’He imagined the freedom, the ability to scout for enemies and detect danger anywhere, anytime.’

Jiang Linhai waited in anticipation for the Superpower Stone to react.

But, the Superpower Stone showed no reaction at all.

He then set his sights on the two remaining Superpower Stones. ’Snow Control would be pretty good, too. I could build snow walls, igloos, and stuff. I could even make popsicles for everyone whenever they want.’

’Invisibility would be alright too, I suppose. Just a bit awkward.’

Jiang Linhai touched them one by one, but these two Superpower Stones also showed no reaction whatsoever.

Jiang Linhai was truly disappointed. "Not a single Superpower Stone chose me. I guess I just don’t have the aptitude for cultivation."

Shen Baoying comforted him, "It’s better this way. Didn’t Sisi say that being chosen could cause a lot of suffering? As long as we’re safe and healthy, that’s all that matters."

Just as Jiang Linhai was beginning to accept Shen Baoying’s comfort, her own fingertip brushed against the Fire Attribute Superpower Stone. The stone instantly erupted with a stunning light and, with a WHOOSH, burrowed into Shen Baoying’s chest before anyone could even react.

Her chest felt like it was being roasted. Shen Baoying showed an expression of intense pain, hugging herself as she curled into a ball and screamed loudly.

Jiang Si was instantly terrified. ’The Superpower Stone might kill Mom!’

She shot out a hand and grabbed Shen Baoying’s arm, pouring a continuous stream of energy into her mother’s body. The excess energy from the Fire Attribute Superpower Stone inside Shen Baoying was, in turn, continuously absorbed by Jiang Si.

Soon, the pained expression on Shen Baoying’s face gradually eased.

Everyone waited expectantly for Shen Baoying to open her eyes and say how she felt, but she didn’t wake up.

Jiang Linhai asked anxiously, "What’s wrong with your mother?"

Jiang Si scanned Shen Baoying’s body and found that she was fine. She shook her head. "She’ll wake up in a bit. She just needs to adjust."
