Chapter 205 - 206: Counter-kill
He was a thin, white man with chestnut hair.
He never imagined that despite his Invisibility, Qin Shen would catch him so decisively.
As Qin Shen’s grip tightened, the veins on Kahill’s face bulged. He wanted to swat at Qin Shen’s hand but didn’t have an ounce of strength left.
He could clearly feel his life slipping away, bit by bit.
Just when Kahill felt he was truly about to die, CLICK, CLACK, Jiang Si fastened two fluorescent tracking bracelets onto his wrists and threw a long garment over him so he wouldn’t be stark naked.
Seeing the bracelets on his wrists, Kahill breathed a sigh of relief. ’Looks like these two Asian monkeys aren’t going to kill me... for now.’
Of course, he was also worried. ’The fact that Qin Shen could grab me so accurately must mean he’s a superpower user, too.’
When Qin Shen released him, Kahill immediately put on a pitiful act. "I meant no harm," he pleaded. "Life has been so miserable... I just wanted to come inside to get warm. I was afraid you’d discover me and drive me away, so I had to sneak in."
He spoke with such genuine emotion, his eyes red and his frame frail, that if Gao Yuanshan hadn’t warned them that the rest of the group were vicious criminals, they might have actually believed a word he said.
Qin Shen shot him a cold glance before locking Kahill in a room.
Once locked in the room, unaware that he was under surveillance, Kahill’s demeanor instantly turned ferocious. He slammed his head and hands against the wall, even trying to bite through the fluorescent tracking bracelets Jiang Si had placed on his wrists.
But after struggling for a moment, he realized it was all futile.
He quickly calmed down, a sinister smile spreading across his face, like a viper lying in wait.
When Jiang Si had put the bracelets on Kahill, she had sensed the Superpower Stone inside his body.
The reason she wasn’t killing Kahill now was that she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to absorb so many Superpower Stones at once without suffering powerful side effects.
Most importantly, there were still three other superpower users outside, watching like hungry tigers. Judging by Kahill’s behavior, he didn’t know that Gao Yuanshan had died at their hands.
’This is good,’ she thought. ’It’ll make it easier to deal with the other three while they’re unsuspecting.’
The blizzard raged. In less than half an hour, the accumulating snow had formed a wall like a fortress, trapping them inside.
The three figures in the sky were barely visible. It seemed they were waiting for Kahill to sneak in and silently kill everyone, allowing them to reap the rewards without a fight.
The pager in Jiang Si’s hand suddenly crackled to life. Shen Baoying’s anxious voice came through. "Sisi! Sisi, how are you doing?"
They hadn’t yet spotted the three superpower users hidden high above, simply assuming the sudden blizzard was the main danger.
Jiang Si replied, "We’re fine. We even caught one of them. Whatever you do, don’t leave the cave! Qin Shen and I can handle this."
How could Shen Baoying not worry? "Just promise you’ll tell us if anything happens!"
"Okay, I will."
After ending the call, Jiang Si looked up at the three figures in the sky and asked Qin Shen, "Would shooting at them even work?"
Qin Shen analyzed the situation carefully. "One of them has Wind Control; he’s keeping the other two airborne. If we shoot him down first, the other two shouldn’t be much of a threat."
Jiang Si nodded. "Should we give it a try?"
"Use that guy as bait?"
"Mhm, good idea."
Jiang Si and Qin Shen sprang into action. They found a rope to tie up Kahill, and the monkeys even came to help, holding their weapons and aiming them unwaveringly at him.
Seeing this, Kahill was more convinced than ever that they were superpower users.
His gaze fixed on Jiang Si, filled with a murderous intent he thought he was hiding well.
The next second, a sharp pain shot through his head.
Qin Shen had knocked him out cold.
A smile touched Jiang Si’s lips as she shoved Kahill out through a hatch, leaving him dangling against the hull of the Icebreaker.
The moment Kahill was shoved out, the monkeys took up positions in every corner of the cabin, guns at the ready.
The second their enemies entered shooting range, they would open fire.
Kahill had a Superpower Stone on him. To obtain it and become more powerful, his allies would never abandon him.
Therefore, to prove that Kahill’s Superpower Stone hadn’t been harvested, he was still stark naked when they dangled him from the hatch, wearing nothing but the two fluorescent tracking bracelets.
The three figures high in the sky were stunned that Kahill had been captured.
But in the next moment, their shock turned to elation.
Catching Kahill meant there were other superpower users on the ship.
Perhaps even more than one.
They exchanged a look, their eyes filled with a greedy, triumphant certainty.
Jiang Si had her firepower ready, but the trio was more cautious than she’d expected.
Jemir, the one with Fire Control, spread his hands. A ball of fire materialized out of thin air and shot toward the Icebreaker with a WHOOSH.
He was obviously trying to set a fire to flush everyone out.
However, the Icebreaker’s outer layer was coated in ice, so setting the ship ablaze wouldn’t be so easy.
But the flame wasn’t aimed at the ship—it was aimed at Kahill.
The moment the rope snapped from the heat, Desi, who had Snow Control, pulled a grenade from his pocket.
Once they blew a hole in the Icebreaker, Jemir, with his Fire Control, could engulf the entire vessel in flames.
But they had gravely underestimated Jiang Si’s group.
Before the grenade could even land, Little Chun shot out and ambushed them from behind, knocking all three to the ground with one swift attack.
Adelon, the one with Wind Control, reacted first, his instinct screaming at him to run. He rode the wind to his feet and pulled out a gun to shoot at Little Chun.
Little Chun deliberately flew toward the Icebreaker, luring Adelon into the range of Qin Shen’s sniper rifle.
BANG—
A single, unhesitating shot hit Adelon squarely in the head.
Instantly, he lost his control over the wind and plummeted from the sky like a meteor.
Jemir and Desi were dumbfounded.
’Someone actually managed to shoot Adelon with such precision.’
’That meant they could just as easily shoot them, too.’
Desi quickly manipulated the raging blizzard, trying to conceal their positions.
The swirling snow blurred everything from sight.
But thanks to his astonishing hearing and superb judgment, Qin Shen could still pinpoint their exact locations.
Jemir still sensed the imminent danger. He desperately urged Desi to hurry, planning to use his fire to melt the snow wall he had created.
Just as Jemir unleashed a fireball, BANG—
A bullet tore through the air, striking Desi and piercing straight through his skull.
Desi fell backward, collapsing heavily to the ground.
A crimson flower blossomed on the snow.
Jemir finally felt true fear. He desperately used his power, trying to surround himself with a wall of intense, shimmering heat, hoping it would be enough to deflect Qin Shen’s bullets and protect himself.
