Chapter 115: Poison Suppression
"Now what?"
His hands were shaking. He held the three children close as if he would lose them in the next instant.
[Find a comfortable place to sit. A place where the host can have contact with the three children at the same time. The host will need to touch the children to pinpoint the corrupted Source Energy. Allow your own energy to enter the child, find the corruption and draw it out.]
"Okay."
Kain didn’t wait for any further instructions. He didn’t think about how any of it would affect him.
Immediately, he sat with the children on his lap. His body was vibrating from the anxiety. He wrapped his hands around them.
One hand held Avery and Dominic’s hands, and the other held Ashton’s hand.
This would be the first time doing something like this. But he had no choice. The longer he waited, the worse it would be for the children.
He closed his eyes, first circulating Source Energy through his body. The energy flowed from his hands to the children. The moment he pushed the energy into their bodies, he could feel a repelling force.
The crystal light orbs of Source Energy collided with pink orbs.
Inhaling sharply, he lost control. He hadn’t expected the sudden revulsion to push the energy away. The children in his arms shivered violently.
’Let me take over’
Kain shuddered. He hadn’t heard that voice in a while. He almost thought that guy had disappeared. He wanted to resist, but he knew there was no time for resistance.
He only hoped he wouldn’t hurt the children.
’I won’t hurt them. They are as much my kids as they are yours.’
Despite himself, Kain’s body relaxed. At that moment of relaxation, the voice took over.
Unlike Kain, he was steady. He wasn’t shaking like a leaf. He was steady. He released a breath. Just like before, the Source Energy circulated in his body. The connection between his and the children’s hands formed a small thread.
The connection was established. The energy flowed into the children, through pathways and nerves, synapses fired.
He could see the pink energy flowing in their bodies. He watched it passing through their veins, over their muscles. He saw them deteriorating through the connection.
An anger so violent flared that it caused the Sanctuary to shake. He didn’t think about what was happening outside. He slowly pushed the pink orbs from the children’s bodies to his.
The moment the first orbs entered his body, he felt as if he were on fire. He shivered unconsciously.
He remembered what Kain could not, so while he got rid of the pink orbs, he also strengthened their pathways.
Once, twice, thrice...
Every time he successfully forced a part of the pink orbs from their system, he would use the Source Energy to strengthen parts of their bodies.
As for himself, he was isolating the pink orbs. It was necessary to keep them at bay until he could rid the children of the pink orbs.
While Kain was inside the space, Amelia, outside, stood up. Her frantic expression disappeared. Replacing it was an ice-cold visage. Source Energy flowed into and around her body, creating a shield of cold air.
She wasn’t conscious of the change.
Inside the container, it began to snow. Her breath was visible, but none of it registered with her.
She stepped outside, moving quickly and gracefully. The Wiltons hadn’t gone far. The three children had just given them a thumbs-up, letting them know the drug was administered.
They walked leisurely.
In their minds, the drug wasn’t something that Kain’s family could deal with. The children had never seen it before. They hadn’t heard of it. It was just one of the many things in their stash.
Who told the doctor to lie to them? If a project failed, it should be dismantled.
Just as they were rejoicing in their victory, a burst of cold air came from their backs. Before they could understand what was happening, Jasmine felt a force hit her back.
It hurled her forward until she crashed into a container. Lila, who was in her arms, dropped like a rag doll.
Chad hadn’t had time to contemplate what just happened when he felt a kick to his side. Like Lila, Boyd and Xavier flew like ragdolls. Chad flew for some time before coming to a stop because of a container as well.
Amelia’s eyes scanned the five people.
She moved towards Jasmine, her stride calm and even. She grabbed her hair and slammed her face into the iron of the barge floors.
There was no need to be afraid of Jasmine dying. Though Amelia was angry, after the first two kicks, she regained her senses long enough to understand the big picture.
These people want to harm her children. He didn’t care why. She didn’t need an explanation...yet. She wanted to vent her anger.
Using the wind element, she moved between Chad and Jasmine. By the time she was done, neither of them dared move again.
The children themselves were numb. After Xavier tried to approach once, only to be pushed, skidding across the floor, they didn’t attempt to approach again.
With her anger vented, she let out a breath, clapped her hands, and walked away.
Amelia’s frustration had been vented, but Kain was facing a problem of his own. He finally got all the pink-coloured Source Energy from the children’s bodies into his own.
Now, he had to deal with the pink energy in his body.
Because he sealed them in varying places. He now had to go through the arduous task of placing them together and forcing them out of his own body.
This was easier said than done. The thing feeds on Source Energy. And using Source Energy to push it was like walking on the road with a donkey on your shoulder and a carrot in your hand.
The donkey that’s supposed to carry you can’t stop eating the carrot and is placing a burden on your body in the process.
Still, he pushed through. He forced the energy down, directly to the place where the space was. He wanted to see if he could place it in the storage.
An illogical idea, but better than nothing.
The moment he approached what he thought was the space, he felt a sudden suction. The pink ball of energy, as if released from a bow, shot from his abdomen directly into his brain.
Kain could only say ’shit’ before passing out.
