Chapter 159: Start of the Festival: The First Morning
To both Novus and Medea, the first day of this year's Grand Talent Festival can never be any better.
After all, the two of them woke up feeling well rested after an entire night of meditation absorbing Evolution Energy, meaning that it is not only complete and proper rest that the two of them got overnight, but also a significant increase in their strengths as well.

Such is the screen that greeted him once he opened his eyes earlier this morning, and right now, as the two of them explores the place, he continues on growing, ingesting Evolution Crystal after Evolution Crystal every time he gets his chance.
"Hm? What are you looking at? Is the dull Junior Novus finally struck with this lady's beauty~~?"
Feeling the gaze locked onto her being, Medea started teasing once more, her giggles can be heard in the air as she feels all too entertained roaming around and taking in the festive air with this young man.
Despite the calm, confident and teasing exterior, her insides twist and turn from all the embarrassment inside, her mind wishing nothing more than him finally averting his gaze away from her for even just a little bit so that she can calm herself down.
"There is indeed beauty in there, Lady Medea, although it is all with narcissism."
The young man retorted, the first part of his words turning her all the shyer, feeling her ears heating up from the praise, only for her elevated joy and excitement to come crashing down as he finished his words.
"Wow, just, wow."
She voiced out as she finally felt her embarrassment fading into nothing, the urge to avert her gaze from him and just start ignoring him welling up from her being, only for such desire to be completely shattered as he speaks once more.
"That's why you should stop flattering yourself, you never have to, after all."
He said, expressing the thoughts in his mind as he looked at her, a subtle smile escaping from his lips, with the lady peeking at his face just at the perfect time for her to witness that faint, yet nonetheless warm smile on his face.
That same smile from him is all that it takes for all her annoyance to melt down, the frustration of not being able to hold her grudges against him causing her to feel frustrated, extremely so, prompting her to pout her lips as she mutters to herself.
'This guy~~'
While the lady is lost in the thought of how the young man, who she first met as an extremely emotionally naïve person for his age and status, grew to such degree during the times they got to know each other more and more, said young man's attention is in a completely different matter.
[Maris Medea Heavenblade]

[Talent: Swordheaven Spirit]
[Strength: 2,000]
[Agility: 2,000]
[Vitality: 2,000]
[Arcane: 6,000]
[Harmony: 3,000]
[Skills]
[Blade Enchantment Magic]
[Great Heaven Blade - Accumulation]
[Great Heaven Blade - Release]
Through Vital Sense, he finally has an idea of how powerful the Sword Princess currently is.
'She's broken through the one-tenth convention…'
He thought to himself with a bit of proudness in his eyes as he checks her physical prowess out, the fact that her physical stats are already about to exceed a third of her Arcane means that she had gone and went beyond the convention that all mages thought is impossible to surpass.
After all, even with augmentation-type magic like Medea's and her clan's Blade Enchantment Magic making it possible for mages to improve their body, it is still, temporary enhancement that will fade with the disappearance of the magic being maintained.
On the other hand, her current bodily prowess stems from the fact that she is using Evolution Energy to improve herself right now, meaning that it is as permanent as it can get, a physical prowess she can further improve through the use of her Unique Magic.
'She's far from her limits…' he thought to himself, whether it is through his level increasing, allowing his perception to improve, or because of something else, he is starting to get a sense of where the limits of the beings around him lies.
"Novus? Junior Novus?? Hey~~~ are you listening??"
Snapping out of his thoughts, Novus heard that familiar voice in an extreme close proximity, prompting him to pay attention to the speaker, meeting her gaze as her face came incredibly close to his.
"I was thinking about something, I'm sorry, what are you saying?"
He didn't hide anything, a wry smile sprouting on his lips as he answers to the clearly concerned question directed to him, prompting the lady to sigh in defeat as she heard his words.
"It's fine, also, I just noticed, I wasn't really talking about anything~~"
Instead of getting angry, she merely smiles, not taking it to heart as she knows what kind of person he is, and he can tell it by his previous gaze.
'He sure is distracted… by me?'
Those were her previous thoughts before she finally brought him back out of his own mind, the gaze focused onto her being as he follows her listless allowing her to deduce that he is thinking about something regarding only her.
The two of them continue with their leisure stroll across the roads of the academy, their presence pulling quite the attention towards themselves no matter where they go.
They checked out the foods, taking their time enjoying each and every single thing either one of them takes interest in, often finding things that the both of them enjoys, and sometimes, finding things that only one of them can even think of as food.
They also checked out the interesting stalls, the entertaining ones, shadow puppetry which made it all the more interesting as it is performed in broad daylight, well-covered, tent-like stalls that obscures the insides from every passerby.
They even went as far as allowing themselves, basically geniuses whose combat prowess stands above everyone among the student body, to be scammed by the suspiciously rigged game stalls, mana gun games, earth ball shooting, minor water elemental catching, they go ahead and tried it all.
"Tsk… I missed again."
Standing on one of the shooting stalls where they use their own magic to power the bullet being shot out of the gun's barrel, Medea clicked her tongue in annoyance before she pushed the gun towards the person standing beside her.
"I want that."
She willfully declares as she points at a transparent case showing a ornamental hairpin inside, her eyes that of someone who refuses to let her target go, but also of someone who is all too powerless to acquire what she wants.
Hence why she decided to pull her best card.
That card being asking for help from someone she feel like is even better than her regarding this kind of thing.
