Given that the E to D tier jump is bigger than the F to E Tier promotion, Novus couldn’t help but feel surprised as he saw the requirements for him to break through and reach the D Tier, thinking that it doesn’t seem to be too hard at all given that he already got all that he needs to proceed.

It took him a while to realize that despite the number of the E Tier Evolution Crystal required is far lesser to the F Tier Evolution Crystal requirements back when he is promoting to E Tier, the higher quality crystal required now is way bigger than the requirements back then.

’That’s just ten E Tier Evolution Crystal for my promotion to E Tier...’ he recalls as he realized that even the amount required resources for him to promote to the succeeding levels are increasing in difficulty of gathering as well.

Such requirement is only appearing to be somehow easier given the fact that his ability to fight against beings above his level is constantly improving as well, allowing him to gather resources from higher-tier opponents with relative ease.

’Should I push for it now then? There’re no classes after all...’

With the thought of his promotion to the D Tier occupying his mind, Novus couldn’t help but feel the excitement growing inside of him, his hand clenched into a fist as he felt extreme anticipation of reaching yet another level of strength.

’It’s already morning... my breakthrough might make unwanted commotion...’

He concluded as he takes a look at the sun’s shining rays peaking through his window curtain, the sunlight prompting him to stand up and open said window in its entirety, greeting the world with a small smile on his face.

Not just his senses alone, but his very perception feels extremely sharp, heightened, precise, as if hitting the limits of E Tier allows him to see a world that he had never seen before.

His surroundings are vibrant and the air around him fresh, lively, through the lens of his eyes, he sees faint traces of several specks of colorful motes floating all around, moving around the air in a dance that seems to show the flow of rules.

For a while, Novus reveled in the sensation of seeing mana itself, not just its flow, no matter how faint it is to him.

It is only after some several minutes that he snapped out of his intrigued and amazed daze, the early morning sun shining down on his face prompting him to clean himself up, the problem of the possibility of his promotion to the D Tier stirring up unwanted attention still on his mind.

The concern continues to plague him even when he is already moving outside, causing him to miss the attention of the students he is passing through, said attention being gathered onto himself as if he is a magnet of everyone’s gaze, unconcerned whether said gaze is from a male or a female.

"Hey... Isn’t that..."

"Y-yeah... n-now that I look at him, he looks really good..."

"Tch, what about it? He’s still a weakling, hey, how about I go there and screw over that—"

"Tsk, don’t even think about it, do you not know what he did to his classmate when he heard something he doesn’t seem to take well?"

"What about it? They’re just both freshmen, you think I cannot handle one just because he wipes the floor with his classmate?"

"And you’re a junior for heaven’s sake, don’t you feel embarrassed trying to pick a fight with someone a couple of years younger than you??"

Crowd continues to talk as the subject of their conversation just ignores their glances and stares, said subject eventually reaching his destination.

And waiting on said destination is a charming lady with long, black hair flowing all the way down her hips, the faint, excited smile on her face something that she fails so miserably to hide away, the gentle, admiring light deep beneath her eyes something that even she herself fails to notice the existence of.

"You’re a bit late, aren’t you, Junior Novus~~?" the lady pointed out as she pouts her lips, averting her gaze away from the young man in an attempt to show what can only be described as her frustration.

Seeing such behavior that he can already label as adorable, Novus heart skipped a few beats before he managed to calm it down, his chest feeling a bit warm as he gazes at the lady in front of him, said warmth causing his lips to uncontrollably crack into a faint, warm smile.

"Am I? You’re just too early, Senior Medea." the young man replies, his words seemingly contrary to his actions as he ever-so-slightly bows, seemingly showing apologies for his behavior.

And the lady, Medea, seeing his action, couldn’t stop herself from giggling, completely unaware of the reason as to why she does so.

"Since we’re both free for the day, you’re mine for the whole day, right~~~?" as the two of them start their stroll towards the city, Medea pointed out with quite the enthusiasm in her playful tone, the sound of her steps light as she walks right by his side.

"Please spare me..." Novus can only shake his head as a wry smile appears on his face, making the lady giggle once more as she looks at how helpless he can be regarding things like this.

"That won’t do you know~~~? I have to help you prepare for the upcoming festival; you also have to help me a bit with preparation~~~ ah, right, there’s also the duel for tonight, fufufu~~~"

"This feels like it’s going to take long."

"It is, but it’s going to be fun, Junior Novus~~~"

"Please spare me..."

The lady laughs as a radiant, excited air surrounds her, while the young man walking beside her starts feeling a bit helpless, knowing that it is going to be a long, long day for him.

Still, no matter what he thinks, he also looks forward to it just as much as the lady does.
