With Liquid Shadow being an easier resource to absorb compared to Evolution Crystals, he had ingested over hundreds of them in no time at all, only half an hour passing since he started absorbing the resources dropped by Shadow Slimes and he already consumed more than half of them.

Clicking on the Elemental Affinity part with interest, he was met with yet another screen explaining his level of affinity, as well as methods that he can use in order to improve these elements even further.

So far, those three are the only ways displayed for him to improve his elemental affinity, making the hype and excitement he had initially felt when he first saw the description of the Elemental Affinity Window diminish, however, knowing that it will only increase in the future, even that disappointment fades as he just feels great knowing that he just acquired another way of improving himself.

After finally settling in, he decided to stop consuming Liquid Shadow for now, his attention now directed onto the next and last resource that he intended to consume.

’This might give me some leeway when fighting against Toxic Slimes...’ he thought to himself as he reads the description of the resource once again, a hopeful smile appearing on his face as he expects quite the good development with his consumption of it.

Taking it out, he saw something just similar to the Liquid Shadow, only, instead of looking grayish and presence-less, this one looks verdant and full of life, as if it is a medicine or health concoction instead of poison.

There are some doubts in his mind as to whether he should consume this verdant liquid, however, he decided to press down on these doubts as he pushes the liquid towards his mouth, a slimy sensation, partnered with the overwhelmingly medicinal, bitter taste and aroma forcing him to immediately gulp it down.

He knelt, holding it in as the desire to vomit what he just consumed began welling up his entire being, however, feeling that it would be such a waste to throw a resource up, he decided to brace his guts.

Eventually, he wouldn’t have any time to worry about that at all as the verdant liquid travels down his stomach, his body absorbing it without fail as the effects of the Safe Poison spreads all across his entire body.

Contrary to the regrettable experience from its disgusting taste, the sensation that the Safe Poison made him feel is quite comfortable

Not in the warm way that absorbing Evolution Crystal makes him feel, but a relaxing sensation more similar to experiencing acupuncture more than anything else, his skin tingling a bit as if something small is tickling him, all while his muscles relaxes as if it is being sedated by the substance.

Eventually, that comfortable sensation fades, and with him opening his eyes, he was met with a notification that he didn’t quite expect, causing a smile to appear out of his lips as he began to wonder why is it that he had only consumed this Safe Poison now.

’Amazing...’ even the usually calm demeanor he often shows couldn’t help but crumble under the sudden, pleasant surprise that was brought by his consumption of the nigh disgusting Safe Poison, his mind already thinking of ways to improve it as he just couldn’t help but see a lot of potential from the description of the ability alone.

’Still... a hundred times...’ seeing the amount of Safe Poison he needs to consume in order to improve his newly acquired ability however, Novus couldn’t help but shake his head as he decided to refrain from absorbing any more Safe Poison, deeming such action as nothing more than wasting resources, as well as effort as the amount he currently have is nowhere near enough to push it to a higher rank.

’Still, this should be enough, right?’ he thought to himself as he calms himself down from the excitement, feeling a bit more confident about his return to the Evolution Domain, nodding as he saw the countdown to his restriction finally finished.
